Dave is honestly a young genius. This HAS to win awards man.
no it doesn't
His debut album will
It probably will.
It won't though because it's about black people, and we know the old white men controlling the award shows won't let this get anywhere near it

Black is creating a Grammy Award winning masterpiece, and not being nominated.
Pgprince86 yesssss
ENNIT THO
Cardi B won a Grammy and so did Lil Nas X and they're black so wuts ur point
why tho? Because he spoke about race? I feel like it’d be more racist just to give him one because he spoke about race, I get what he’s saying and it has a good message but from a musical standpoint the song’s not a masterpiece
give me back my kids If that’s not a masterpiece then what is. Some of the greatest musical art had social commentary relevant to its time. So does this............. and it flows. Art is about opinions, I’d respect yours more if you bothered to explain it.
We need to stream this like mad to get it to number 1 next week, not just because it's Dave, not just because it's a great song but because it tells such a powerful story that the rest of the world needs to hear.

After the euros.. still relevant
From a 60-year old Scottish white guy living in Paris: Dave, your song Black doesn't just speak to me it opens my eyes and my soul. You, your generation, all that burning talent, brothers and sisters, let your strength and positivity wake up poor old suffering Britain from its post-Brexit bewilderment. Johnny Rotten said it first: "There is no future, in England's dreaming!" Now you and your fellow artists take up the struggle, and it will be glorious. The future is yours. Dave isn't trying to "bring down other races" or "play the victim". He is trying to empower black people and show them that they are equally as worthy as any other race and just as beautiful.
Well said

DarkFuRy 7 you’re not wrong bro but what I meant is black people aren’t the only race going through that, we’re all together whatever colour and instead of songs like this separating us by skin colour it should be about bringing us together as people
Oh Yeah Yeah he’s empowering his race and what he went through brining us all to the same level if other races a suffering someone that lived through it or knows about it can empower them too not necessarily dave
Look, black is beautiful, black is excellent
Black is pain, black is joy, black is evident
It's workin' twice as hard as the people you know you're better than
'Cause you need to do double what they do so you can level them
Black is so much deeper than just African-American
Our heritage been severed, you never got to experiment
With family trees, 'cause they teach you 'bout famine and greed
And show you pictures of our fam on their knees
Tell us we used to be barbaric, we had actual queens
Black is watchin' child soldiers gettin' killed by other children
Feelin' sick, like, "Oh shit, this could have happened to me"
Your mummy watchin' tellin' stories 'bout your dad and your niece
The blacker the berry the sweeter the juice
A kid dies, the blacker the killer, the sweeter the news
And if he's white you give him a chance, he's ill and confused
If he's black he's probably armed, you see him and shoot
Look, black is growin' up around the barbershop
Mummy sayin', "Stay away from trouble, you're in yard a lot"
Studying for ages, appreciatin' the chance you got
'Cause black is in your blood, and you ain't even got the heart to stop
Black is steppin' in for your mother because your father's gone
And standin' by your children when you haven't proven karma wrong
Black is doin' all of the above then goin' corner shoppin'
Tryna help a lady cross the road to have her walkin' off
Black is growin' up around your family and makin' it
Then being forced to leave the place you love because there's hate in it
People say you fake the shit, never stayed to change the shit
But black is bein' jealous, you'd be dead if you had stayed in it
Black is strugglin' to find your history or trace the shit
You don't know the truth about your race 'cause they erasin' it
Black has got a sour fuckin' flavour, here's a taste of it
But black is all I know, there ain't a thing that I would change in it
Look, black ain't just a single fuckin' colour, man there's shades to it
Her hair's straight and thick but mine's got waves in it
Black is not divisive, they been lyin' and I hate the shit
Black has never been a competition, we don't make this shit
Black is deadly
Black is when you're freezin' in your home and you can't get sleep but never feelin' empty
'Cause you got 20 cousins in your country living stress-free
Walkin' for their water, daughter wrapped inside a bed sheet
Black is distant
It's representin' countries that never even existed while your grandmother was livin'
Black is my Ghanaian brother readin' into scriptures
Doin' research on his lineage, findin' out that he's Egyptian
Black is people namin' your countries on what they trade most
Coast of Ivory, Gold Coast, and the Grain Coast
But most importantly to show how deep all this pain goes
West Africa, Benin, they called it slave coast
Black is so confusin', 'cause the culture? They're in love with it
They take our features when they want and have their fun with it
Never seem to help with all the things we know would come with it
Loud in our laughter, silent in our sufferin'
Black is bein' strong inside and facing defeat
Poverty made me a beast, I battled the law in the streets
We all struggled, but your struggle ain't a struggle like me
Well how could it be when your people gave us the odds that we beat?
I mean, fuckin' hell, what about our brothers that are stuck in jail?
That couldn't bust a bell, they held a bird and gotta live with it
Black is bein' guilty until proven that you're innocent
Black is sayin', "Free my fucking niggas stuck inside in prison cells"
They think it's funny, we ain't got nothin' to say to them

Rose Njekwe noose bit news
Rose Njekwe the line deep
That is just straight up my lyric of the year
Hello
“The blacker the killer the sweeter the news” man that hits hard
Isaac Big
You’re trying to put words into his mouth their mate...
He said protected species because protected species are protected... it has nothing to do with the word “ species” but you clearly have such an agenda against white people that you have missed the point entirely.
You could learn a lot from this.
Yeah just not a true lyric is it.
A black man stabbed a white man to death on his birthday in front of his son at xmas for no reason other than he had mental health problems...
We didn’t hear anything about it because the news was repeating the story of Jayden Moodie, a black kid who was dealin drugs on his moped and murdered by 3 black men...
:/
This is so awkward.
Inflammatory fake news. The only person I've seen in the news these past few years is Theresa May.
@andrew clark Pardon? Species? You understand we are the same species (i.e. Humans), right? You fool, pick words carefully before you try disputing topics like this😂
@A A mitigation isn't a defence. Although I do understand what your saying.
Mitigation is a set of circumstance to be considered in determining the extent of a persons guilt and the necessary action to be taken. Which is a valid thing to do if it is necessary. And accountability is just as important.
That being said mitigation isn't as easily considered or applied to the black community due to reinforced schemas and notion burrowed deep in people's minds (all races including black people) that they belive to be inherently true - but aren't.
So where a murderer - (a wife abused for years by her husband) can have her sentence quashed due to failed consideration of mental health issues after hammering the man 20 times in the head with a hammer, I'm very doubtful (I could be wrong) that the same application of mitigation would be as easily afforded to a black woman in the same circumstance.
Particularly though there is a fear of the back male in society which is a historical trope. And unfortunately after 4 centuries of mental and physical abuse and taught self undervalue it's plane to see the effects of what is expected has taken hold of some black men living in poverty. The self hatred is evident.
The real problem is that people think of black people synonymous with poverty - as though the two are interchangeable. Without considering why and completely ignoring factual reasons i.e historical racialised systems created to encourage social disparity of people based on race. This can be applied to class as well, but if black that disparity is compounded more so.
Accountability is very important and always required - my only qualification to that is that if mitigation is necessary everyone should be afforded it fairly and in the same way.
There are many studies show that there is a disproportionate treatment against black people comparatively to white people in the same or similar circumstances - probably due to the things I've mentioned above.
If people do not accept this as a truth because they feel like the blame is being placed on them some how - then there will never be change . Accountability needs to happen as a collective.
This was and still is one of my favorite tracks from psychodrama and omg not only the message but the amount of guest stars especially TOPBOY cast in there as well it's just beautiful

This is America is also rich in substance and despite it being a fairly simple song it's more the semantics between the lyrics that speak fathoms about the current plight of black people in America. Black queens raised kings like him
@asmr dude stay in your lane. Doesn't concern you
@asmr dude why tf do waste man think they have a place to make comments on whatever tf black people decide to do? Oh that's right, entitlement, privilege. Need I go on...
@asmr dudeAll my black brothers and sisters are Kings and Queens. Why should you be affected by us raising each other up? Being a 'King' is something we blacks have to embody in order to thrive in a world where we're not meant too👑.
asmr dude the fact that you’re making any of this about materialistic things proves the point. No one here is talking about wealth but you.
And if we have to explain our use of words like king and queen aren’t necessarily literal then you’re even more out of touch. This ain’t the place for you
@asmr dude it's very easy to label us as 'MeNTalY EnSaLvED', while ignoring the fact that racism exists and billions of us still experience it. Open YOUR mind and then tell me that we have equal opportunity lol.
Learn the system 'kid'. And who the heeellll told you that to be a king you have to have money 😅😭😭😭. You clearly don't understand 🤷🏿♂️ 🤦🏿♂️
My man brought everyone into the vid
Already a legend
DAILY MAIL WILL DRAG STERLING FOR BEING IN THIS
*''Raheem Sterling flashing an ak47 in a gangster rappers music video''*

Heartfelt and just...so sincere. Love from Malaysia xx
This is so much better than rappers talking about how much money and women they get. This isn’t about hiding insecurities but about struggle and striving to do better. Good shit.
Bungus Grumble preach🙌🏾
“Black is being guilty before being proven innocent” 👏
@@persona8991 No they don't. White people do.
@@persona8991 Oh, you're thinking of the racist cops, yes, that sounds right...
@@indyfilm you're so stupid and biased that even though black americans kill in disgusting rates you would still make up excuses
Afrofusion what about black cops? Are they racist too?
Val Valerian Have you heard about the Crime bill 1994 (war on drugs), introduced by Bill Clinton. Literally left a whole generation of African Americans without fathers and at times mothers for low level offences.
Work of art.

“Black is people naming your country on what they trade most, Gold Coast, Coast of Ivory and Grain Coast, but most importantly, to show how deep all this pain goes, West Africa, Benin they called it Slave Coast” - honestly one of the best verses i have heard in a long time
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlantic_slave_trade#African_participation_in_the_slave_trade
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghezo
it was the kings of Africa that created these slave ports, After the abolishing of slavery, countries in the west wrote asking them to stop slavery
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghezo
(lol this one where we are literally writing to African countries to stop slavery they are like we cant) they call it is you call it!!!
The chilling fact is that the leaders of some African countries continue to trade our future just like some of our ancestors did hundreds of years ago. When will it stop.
sierra leone named because of the lion mountains and the capital freetown is named that because it’s where slaves where freed
So much potential.... Africa is a wholesome goldmine still held back chains of powerful hands on both sides, selfish & greedy
Dave, the legend ❤ Brilliant mind.
Goosebumps from the beginning to the end 👏👏🙌🙌
