We travelled on the Carnarvon Castle in 1951 on our way Cape Town to Southampton.
My mother had a lot of keepsakes from the voyage. Items like menus, photos taken with the captain, crew and so on. Unfortunately when she died I was in SA and everything disappeared.

Hi there Captain 😊....thanks so much for this video on the Carnarvon Castle . I loved watching it ....I live in Cape Town and am also interested in ships and the history of the UNION CASTLE line . My grandfather traveled on many of them but always told me he loved the Carnarvon CASTLE best as the interiors were beautiful....lots of wood !!
Unfortunately I was very small when the last voyage of CASTLE lines ended ...sadly so 😢....as I wud have loved to have gone on some of them .
So, nice u doing the research and putting this on the net 👏....keep up.the good work ...u awesome

Like I said before, the superstructure reminds me of MV Britannic
