This isn't the final version btw as I'm thinking of shortening or adding effects
Hi there Captain 😊....thanks so much for this video on the Carnarvon Castle . I loved watching it ....I live in Cape Town and am also interested in ships and the history of the UNION CASTLE line . My grandfather traveled on many of them but always told me he loved the Carnarvon CASTLE best as the interiors were beautiful....lots of wood !! Unfortunately I was very small when the last voyage of CASTLE lines ended ...sadly so 😢....as I wud have loved to have gone on some of them . So, nice u doing the research and putting this on the net 👏....keep up.the good work ...u awesome
I'm glad you enjoyed the video and it's ashame that many people seemed to have forgotten about the Union castle line
So far, I’ve added all your videos except for the shorts onto my playlist.
Thanks I appreciate it it's nice knowing people like my content enough to put it in thier own playlists
You're hilarious and very informative at the same time. 😂 Great fun.
Why thank you I'm glad you enjoyed the video
@@IlovetheOceanic thank you for making it. I have admired the Capetown Castle for quite some time. She is a ship full of character.
If you lost your marbles do you want me to help you find them????
......NEVER
Maybe ....why not 😂
Great Britain and great eastern get more attention but not this I Ship . That’s the exact reason I love old western .
I hope the vid was to your liking then 👍
Short and sweet and informative. Good job! I never knew about this ship, but thanks to you, this old dog learned something new! Thanks Captain...😉
No problem mate the pleasure is mine 👍
You should cover a Union Castle liner called the White Castle! Let’s just say when Union Castle ordered her, they were cooking.
Really a pun to the restaurant....I actually tried to research that 😂
@@IlovetheOceanic Yes! I was hoping you’d fall for it!
@Fishycheese99 your a meanie lol I spent 30 mins looking for info on it
@@IlovetheOceanic This is a certified funee moment.
Im just wondering what the confusion was to your assistant writer. It seems like it had a fairly standard career. BTW, if this sounds rude or mean in any way, i do not mean it
Oh right I forgot I cut the epilogue... basically in the videos writing process a source mentioned that union castle line ships hulls where lavender grey but she thought it was just lavender and it really confused her
@@IlovetheOceanic ah OK lol
Whoever designed that attempted new SS France, deserves jail time. It’s such a terrible design that’s trying *way* too hard to be “different”. If it was actually built, it would have been an insult to the actual SS France. Even the SS Norway post-1990 refit looked a *lot* better.
This channel is underated
Why thank you
agreed
Facts. Straight facts.
At least Great Eastern’s history is kind of interesting, even if her career was a financial disaster and her exterior aesthetic was sorely lacking. At 18,915 GRT, she was unsurpassed in gross tonnage for 43 years, until the 20,904 GRT RMS Celtic of 1901.
I do a agree with you on that I have a love hate relationship (pun intended) with her hence why I own a model
@@IlovetheOceanicIf she had been built maybe 30 or 40 years later, had an actual superstructure, been powered by steam exclusively and only 2 or 3 funnels, maybe she would have fared a lot better commercially. With an actual superstructure, she probably would have surpassed the Big Four in gross tonnage, and held on to the title of largest ship in the world until the Lusitania and Mauretania entered service in 1907.
What do you think of L’Atlantique’s interiors though? Her exterior is lacking for sure but personally I think her interiors are nicer.
Ah see I have seen some images but not many but I do hope to see some more soon for a top secret project I'm working on
@@IlovetheOceanicshe was meant for the France-South America service which may also be why less thought was given to her exterior design.
April fools you didn’t get me 😂
i am so ashamed of myself
