- Jonas Vingegaard second edition. The 2023 Grand Boucle was the 110th edition of the Grand Boucle. It started in Bilbao, Spain, on 1 July and ended with the final stage at Champs-Élysées, Paris, on 23 July. Defending champion Jonas Vingegaard (Team Jumbo-Visma) won the general classification for the second year in a row. Two-time champion Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) finished in second place, with Adam Yates (UAE Team Emirates) finishing third. The race began in Bilbao in the Basque Country before returning to the Eiffel's Tower country. The first two weeks of the race was closely fought between Vingegaard and Pogačar, with just 10 seconds between the riders by the end of the second week. The decisive stages were the individual time trial on stage 16 where Vingegaard won by 1 minute 38 seconds ahead of Pogačar, and the subsequent stage in the Alps where Vingegaard extended his lead to over seven minutes. Vingegaard won the race for the second year running, putting him equal on race wins with his rival Pogačar. His winning margin of 7 minutes 29 seconds was the largest since 2014. The points classification was won by Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Deceuninck) for the first time. The mountains classification was won by Giulio Ciccone (Trek-Segafredo), the first Italian to achieve this feat since 1992. The young rider classification was won by Pogačar for the fourth year in a row, and the team of Team Jumbo-Visma won the team classification. Victor Campenaerts (Lotto-Dstny) was chosen as the most combative rider.

I can't understand why none of the big Pharma companies sponsor the Grand Boucle. it would be a simple transition; Jumbo Pfizer, DSM-DMT, Fentanyl - Quickstep, Bayer Victorious, etc. At least we'll know who's really behind the prescriptions.
🤣🤣🤣 indeed
You had me at fentanyl quickstep 🤣
F it, I will run my local XC races with full 3CHI Kyle Busch swag and stickers, see if I can hook me up with some We*d sponsorship and make it to the big leagues with Gerardo Ulloa, who of course is totally not a pothead

I would like to see a video on how a rider would be able to dope at the current time without outside help like Lance Armstrong etc.
FANTASTIC Video! Wasn't expecting that lol. So good. Well done. Magical voice.
One vote from me on a video from you on Froome's 2023 season.
Nothing to see from Froome in 2023. A grand total of 8 UCI points from him, it is no surprise that his team held him out of the TdF.
2 !
@@rurtm1430 You are right, 8 points is the 12-month running total.

„… Jordi the chicken boy surrounded by the Ortega sisters…“
Incredible….
Same as the UFC. It would be financially disastrous to to actually catch and punish the dopers.
The UFC catches them fairly often. They just give them a slap on the wrist through a canceled fight. The UCI definitely tests riders, as does WADA who has no interest in UCI financial success. The issue is that it's easier to break rules than to catch people breaking them.
UFC is a Joke
@@englishorchard-haze4708 sue. The sad thing is they are sacrificing their health without getting fame and fortune in return. If you are using PEDs only to come tenth in a local contest, is it really worth the price?
@englishorchard-haze4708 heading that way? They've always been soft on doping. As for crossfit, they barely do any out of competition testing. They use WADA's same banned drug list but don't allow WADA drug testers access to their athletes. At least some boxing commissions are under WADA and they're tested more than Crossfit folks. But it's not like testing has ever stopped doping. Grand tour riders are tested often and nearly always pass their tests despite doping
Why punish Armstrong then?
Excellent stuff. And clean! The spirit of the great Lance Pharmstrong lives on in these riders.
Once again, the video made me laugh out loud. Very funny, keep it up. So true about Jasper Phillipsen -- he's an idiot. And Mohoric is now a saint. The laughs keep coming. Excellent job.

If you watch one Tour de France 2023 summary, this should be the one. You, sir, are a legend! Thank you 🙏🏽
The most critical piece of information in this video at the 18:25 mark. There is no way a record like that falls if you are clean. The climbing times of the mountains are always the best indicator of how dirty a Tour de France is. The FDJ team doctor's words 28:13 were the most honest words of this video. The journalist and TDF organization have to know what is really going on. I feel like I wasted 3 weeks of my life following this year's race.
Are you naive? They are all doping and always have been since the 80s. It's an even playing field since they all do it.
It's not wasting time. Just watch it for what it is. A spectacle of superhuman performance. And it's not like FDJ riders aren't doping too. They're simply not as good as the rest.
@veganpotterthevegan Probably FDJ guys have less money to have the Best materials. It was weird that Pinot couldn't have a Last stage victory when Cofidis guys for example have 2 Wins for the first time in 15 years.
@@cyclinghighlights sure, and a lot less talent. Pinot isn't who he used to be

Well ... I watched this video at about 7 pm. When I went to bed, some 5 hours later, I found myself to be laughing like a drain! Who-the-hell decided to call him "Poggi". Hahaha - hysterical.
The 2 of them were incredible from the earliest days of their cycling though. They smashed records as teenagers too. Surely you'Re not suggesting they were on the sauce back then too?
Considering that doping is very widespread in in younger categories, I am 100% certain that they were 100% clean their entire lives no doubt about it.
Jonas was one of the worst riders in cycling until about 3 years ago. He had no successes as a junior. Then suddenly became unbeatable. Pogacar has a long history of success as a junior and was fully expected to be a top rider

Your videos are always the highlight post race lol thank you for pointing out the obvious. I have asked myself this for years. I’m on a new bike. Why don’t I go so fast?😂😂😂
The teams are sure good at blood doping antidetection methods. And Greg Lemond does note mechanical doping has been an issue up til recently, with certain white Kenyan past tour winners named.
Like a cartoon pro cycling. What's up Doc!!
Thank you for creating such a well researched investigation. It is great to see so many clean athletes highlighted that did not use motors to break performance limits in pro-cycling. All from getting the basics just right! In this tour it seemed as there was zero evidence of any rule breaking. Unfortunately, the 90's TDF game of spot the cheat is dead! No longer are we treated to the luxury of multiple bike changes that allow riders to go uphill faster! Long live the clean tour heros! 🙂 So nice to see such a clean & dominant performance in La Veulta as well. Made me laugh - thanks!
It’s not well investing and it’s a video that dishonors cycling and modern athletes in general, get your facts straight

This video is your masterpiece.
What most people do NOT understand it’s that Rabobank and jumbo are not the same team, not the same organization and none of the Rabobank directors or coaches it’s envolved anymore, it’s a new organization that just so happened that bought the Rabobank license after it collapsed, they could have literally bought any other license but the Rabobank one it’s the one that was up for grabs
Please.
Even Erik Dekker, one of the biggest dopers in Rabobank era is one of the directors of the team.
Shots fired
Everyone is working overtime to sell the better training methods, diet, aero gains and turned in brake levers have made the riders faster and stronger. When LeMond talks about all this, that look on his face tells you all you need, it's BS..
From a guy who almost die to winning the tour again. what a miraculous comeback story 🤣🤣🤣
absolute quality commentary.
Even Greg Lemond is carrying water for JV, claiming his power/kg is off the charts because he lost so much weight and looks like a concentration camp victim. This was the worst tour since Landis for being completely unbelievable.
I am not surprised. Whatever it takes him to ride as fast as a track sprinter, it works for UCI and TdF. They need to create a villain but not sure JV plays the best role for it like LA once did. Remember, it is all a show, entertainment, showbusiness, it's a sports event, like football, basketball, everything goes
That 17:45 Dutchman next to Thomas Dekker, what's his name? Geert or Gert Willink cycling doesn't show me information!

For sure, it's certainly insightful comments always, and as knowledgeable, no. Actually more so than some commentators.
I'm certain some pro cyclists enjoy this content..
It's a weird feeling TBH. When they put in monster efforts like V's time trial, as an athlete and a lover of the tour, u know they are doped as fuck, but what's weird is that when u watch TDF these days, you expect that later, most of them, will be discovered and it has become part of the show... poor cycling...
The bikes are actually heavier than bikes from 10 years ago

Cycling is the best and the most complex sport. F1 is competition among drivers and technological firms. But cycling is far more complex- there is competition in many more fields: best cyclist, best tech doping, best bio doping etc.
Vingegaard, Skeletor on Vinegar
You seem to know all who are doped and whoose not too
Specially Who not jajaja
Not since the Rat won stage 17 had we seen a day so ridiculous as that TT.
They are nearly looking to fly like a lugworm this year.
Wonder if you got requests from Jumbo Visma to take this video down.
Why Jumbo and not UAE or INEOS?
I honestly cant tell if this is just sarcasm or double sarcasm.
Unless you think there are 2 stars and everyone else happens to be moocher, you should be able to use statistics to identify dopers. Assuming everyone has access to the same improvements the difference of the 2 and the average of the next 10 or 20 riders should be statistically similar.
So a short resume of this video is: "Podi is never doped. All other riders are doped". And the bikes used today and the traing used today has not improved in 30 years....
So a short resume to this comment "i'm a dane and the danish never doped, only the rest ones"
Please.

Jonas's time trial performance after the rest day was truly unbelievable. UCI anti doping is a complete joke.
He certainly got tested. The UCI doesn't create the tests. It's not their fault that there are undetectable drugs
@@veganpotterthevegan UK anti doping was able to catch Team Sky's doping doctor. They caught him with a basic package intercept investigation. The UCI has to get serious with the Doping clinics in Spain.
@@stratostear chances are, Jumbo is a lot more careful. After all, there are still Robobank people involved in the team. And it's not like people need clinics to dope.
In the first place, Jonas has a faster time trial than Pogacar. What's more, Pogacar is not doing well, and he even made a mistake choosing his bike.
@2tak520 the win isn't the issue. Pogo beat Wout handily, and Jonas destroyed Pogo. It was a Floyd Landis moment. Leaving fellow dopers in his wake with some extra magic sauce.
