you know, everything I think, "ok they can't make it a level more awesome now", these songs come... they are one of the biggest artist in the post-modern world
True Art. What are pop bands compared to bands like Mogwai and Sigur Rós? Nothing. They got blown away by the melodies and the feelings of the audience. Post-Rock is the new Art.
art dealers artists art dealers artitst those who cant do teach sir u are a teacher learn ur history about proper art music is an art form not sound waves sounds good but theres more to just sound the muscles in them they use to advocate such lovely art every single drop of blood and sweat put into this the thinking and creating its an art form and this piece is a master piece.
they have toured together. i have no idea how to classify either band's music. 'post-rock' is something i've heard tossed around, but either way, I think I would classify them both in generally the same category. Personally, I'd file them both under "the stuff dreams are made of".
i like the pace on this performance. They are like radiohead in that way: they play better live. BTW: what are u guys discussing about??? i dont care if anything is art.. i just know what i like and theres nothing anyone can do to change that. period.
@PaulyPlz You obviously have not heard anything else by this band if you think they're just "quiet instrumental" music. I've seen them in concert, probably one of the loudest shows ever.
"True Art". Rubbish. Art is completely in the eye of the beholder. Mogwai is probably like my favourite band but, music is music. Just because something's "pop" doesn't mean it's bad. I mean look at Radiohead! That's all verse chorus verse chorus pop music, but look how amazingly beautiful it is? I mean shit. And besides, post-rock is nothing new, chicketty-check Tortoise out - 1995 man. Everything is art.
ever heard of John Cage? Its not pretentious to try to figure out why you like music and sound and why it affects you emotionally. If you play guitar and you like a song you're going to try to understand it and work out how to play it - same goes for the sound of traffic or birds singing or whatever, you cant play it on an instrument, but these things can affect you,so why not try to understand why. Your viewpoint is just inflexible inverted snobbery, and you're not saying anything at all - fail
That's my third comment on that.
Best Mogwai's song. Everytime i listen i can't avoid comment it. Hope to see them live soon

@zeitguy311 Try The Bird Ensemble. SO good.
what language was that?
Ack the feedback hurts my ears... but Mogwai is too good to care about feedback
Did my worst...Came in first : )
what the hell did they say at the beginning.
it was in some kind of strange tongue.
Post Rock?

what you're saying here is way more pretentious than just using the word 'art', you hypocrite.
