  • This is my demo of the Boss RC-1 Loop Station pedal. I've used my dodgy voice and some improvised percussion just to make this video a bit different from the many guitar-based reviews. This pedal can loop anything!

    Hi! Did you use a mixer? Or you connect the microphone direct to the pedal? Thank you for this video!

      Direct to the pedal

    Hey, just came across this video, I haven't used looping but I've been trying with my phone app and I'm thinking of getting the rc 1
    Can I connect my guitar and a mic for vocals as well , I can see u only had the mic connected so will rc 1 be able to get both guitar & mic or is the rc 30 better since it has a mic channel

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  11 месяцев назад +2

      You'll need a joiner cable or a little mixer to get both sources in at once.

    Hi there,
    Good demo, and to the point!
    One question, it obviously has inputs for guitar, keyboards? But you used a microphone, was this a basic dynamic type or has it got to be powered?
    Thanks, David

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  5 лет назад +2

      I used a normal dynamic mic, it doesn't need to be powered. As long as its cable ends in a mono TRS 6mm pin then it's all good :) GF

    I've got this same loop station, but fail to find a good microphone to go with it (that has both the jack plug ending and is amplified, since the non-amplified one I try needs me to scream to produce some sound..). Could you maybe help me out here?

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  3 года назад +1

      I really wish I had the answer. An ordinary-sized mic with a neat little pre-amp in it would be such a useful thing. Some video mics have them and they aren't too expensive. Maybe that's worth a try?

    Hello, excellent video, I have a question is the yamaha pedal a piano sustain pedal ????? It seemed to me that you have it connected in the stop / undo ... It is a pedal for piano ,, ???? I would appreciate your advice. Greetings from Nicaragua...

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  3 года назад

      Hi Abel, yeah this video is from a long time ago but I think I was using the sustain pedal as a start/stop button. Seemed to work fine. Lots of pedals are just on/off switches :) Thanks for the message and happy new year!

    Once you lay down the first beat and tap to start overdubbing will it only record each layer for the same amount of time as the initial beat? Thats why after the first overdub you don't need to push the button for each new layer you just record and listen? Is that right? HALP haha 😅😭

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  4 года назад

      Yes, either a direct box or an effects unit of some kind with a bit of amplifying ability would definitely help. Ordinary TRS cables should be fine :) #gearfacts

    Thank you for the video. I'm having trouble figuring out what cables to buy to connect the microphone into the rc 1. Initially I purchased a XLR to unbalanced mono 1/4 but got lots of noise. What is your cable setup here, it sounds very clean and clear? Thank you for any help!

    • @gearfacts
      @gearfacts  5 лет назад

      My setup was the same as what you describe but the noise levels seemed reasonable. Is your mic ok? Maybe try a different cable too, old cables can get a bit mushy :) Gearfacts

      @@gearfacts You are a gentleman, sir. Thank you for your reply and producing this video for others.
      I have just ordered a RC-1. Perhaps you can help. I hope to be able to skip the overdub sequence by simply pressing once during the overdub mode (without doing any overdubbing) and going straight into playback. Is this possible? I want this thing to be as simple as possible.
