I was 21 when Bias passed away and what TM is saying is 100% correct. In fact, what is scary is that Bias had not peaked yet as a player and was only going to get better.

If Michael Jordan and Len Bias had ever shared the court together, it would have been straight fireworks.
I mean, can you even imagine it? INSANE athleticism and scoring ABILITIES 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Man I'm not taking it that far, I don't think Jordan would want to go to Maryland with the drug epidemic. Even if Adrian Branch wasn't there, UNC was stacked. Plus, it's not like Jordan wouldn't automatically beat out Branch. Jordan in practice was an all around better player than he was.
All Maryland had was Bias and only Bias. We know without a doubt Bias would've pushed Jordan, bare minimum he would've gotten 3 rings and 15-20 all stars. Branch wasn't shit in the NBA and wasn't a highly touted prospect. He thrived off of being the second man when Lenny was double/triple team. Bias was the clear workhorse of that Maryland team. Dawg had 41 points 11 rebounds and 3 assists and 5 blocks against Duke. How much did the rest of Maryland have against Duke.... 27 points and 2 assists. That team would be in last place in the ACC if weren't Bias.

I’ve seen one those games. They really weren’t guarding each other from what I remember.. what stood out was that UNC had a deeper team than Maryland..

He individually torched UNC, He dropped 28 points, 35 points, 42 points, and 33 points against UNC in the 4 games he had against them (with no threes). That Maryland team on the other hand offensively without Bias.... was straight ass. Branch was the only other guy that they could get going on offense, and even he had droughts where he would go 4/24, 1/12, or 5/30 shooting when he started getting doubled.

@@tagon70 That UNC team was stacked with talent. You had James Worthy, Brad Daughtery, Joe Wolf, Sam Perkins, Kenny Smith, plus whenever Jordan was tired you had JR Reid on the bench. That fucking team was legit. It would've been stupid for Jordan not to go to UNC. But, if we where being honest. Jordan could've recruited Bias to be on his UNC team. Adding Bias on that team would almost be like if Kareem partnered with Magic in college. Plus Bias would've been away from the drugs with better coaching and discipline.... dawg.

@@joshuahall1581 J.R. Reid came during the 85-86 season with Scott Williams, and Steve Bucknall, among others. Kenny Smith was still on the squad along with Brad Daugherty, Joe Wolf, and Jeff Lebo. Jordan left after the 83-84 season, the year Jordan won National POY.

In their 4 head to head matchups, Michael Jordan was clearly the better player. And it wasn’t close. He was better in almost every aspect of the game. Jordan was much faster, a better shooter, a better ball handler, a better passer and a better defender. Even though he was several inches shorter, Jordan was almost as good a rebounder.
The claims that Bias was as good as Jordan are ridiculous.
And Jordan had another advantage. He was on coke.

Jordan was not a better shooter than len bias in college.

If we are looking at all of Lenny's games, Lenny was clearly the better and more accurate shooter and it's not even close. Lenny's mid range had an 86.4% clip rate. Which means 90% of the time Len Bias had the ball in his hand from mid range it was going in. Plus he was triple teamed on 40% of his shots. Len and Jordan was comparatively even rebounding, assisting, and shot blocking wise if we are looking at rebounds per game, assists per game, and bpg. But Jordan blew the doors off Lenny when it came to long-range shooting and creativity.
We never got to see how Bias would've acclimated to the new 3 point line rule in the NBA. But my guess is if he was 90% from mid range, he would be at or around a 70% three clip rate.
