So whilst in the south of England, I decided to hike the South Downs Way - a 100 mile hike from Eastbourne to Winchester. I had amazing weather and wild camped as I went. I started at 6pm on Monday & hiked 8 miles to give me a head start, then I did 30 miles the next day. Thank you for watching. :) #southdownsway #hikinguk #wildcamping Hiking the South Downs Way Solo! :D ~ UK ~ May
Youve made great inroads into your venture, time for foot rest!Doesnt seem alot of people about, which is really lucky.Looks very nice down there,i fancy a go.😁
You were just a stone throw from where I live:) I did the South Downs Way as my PCT prep last year, but went other way around (from Winchester), great little hike! Good to see you having fun hiking again! Those flapjacks were the bomb :)
I thought you had hiked it but I wasn't sure, it is good PCT prep. The South Downs is great, I'm glad I chose it as my next hike. Ah I know, that flapjack tasted so good! :D
I've been inspired. It looks like a nice straightforward walk that I might be able to do. I'm looking forward to part 2.👍 I'm going to give this a go. I'm looking at train cost right now, which is the thing that has always put me off. I will give it a go this summer. If I failing walking it, I will come back and ride it just to teach it a lesson.
It is easy to follow, there are signs at every junction to guide your way. I really enjoyed the hike, the south downs is a beautiful place. I hope you're able to hike it and find some trains to get you to the start. :)
Hello.. The beautiful south wow you have made me imagine what it can be like there. I thought climbing up Scarfel Pike was beautiful but you have captured a new image for me. I take Muselli bars with me to snack on as they give out energy. I would not be able to walk so many miles in one-day as health issues would not let me. Besides that i have been advised not to go out on my own for now. You put up so many vlogs and show us more of the South down ways. Over night camping can be fun and the early morning sun-rises are awesome... Regards Mick,,,,,,,,,,, Chef-on-the-wild-side,,,,,,,, X
I'm glad you enjoyed my video Mick, I don't think I've been up Scarfel pike, I'm glad you enjoyed your climb up there. Muselli bars are a good energy boost. Take care of yourself.
Your enthusiasm for adventure is undeniably inspirational, and always gives me much food for thought regarding adding exploration into my own life! What with all your skills building the tiny house, wild camping etc, you’re undoubtedly the proverbial human equivalent of the Swiss Army Knife! I’m really looking forward to part 2
I had to laugh Keitei, 'so many chocolates and sweets.' Fantastic to be back out especially in such great weather. After all the moving etc recently you got the trail of dreams I reckon. Perfect! Early start day 2 but so good to hear the skylarks and hey see as camper. 30 miles in the day - hats off. Well, really enjoyed that end to end. All the best as always. Mark
Thank you Mark, yes it was great to be out hiking and wild camping and in an area that was new. I was surprised with how quiet the trail was but I was hiking it backwards so to speak. Glad that you're getting out and enjoy the summer too :)
@@KeiteiVentures A pleasure Keitei. Yeah, I thought it was quiet to - had a remote feeling in places to. Good to hear it was a joy as ever. Yeah, getting fit again and planning my next adventure. Have a great day.
I done the walk the same way as you back in march. The best way in my opinion. Took me 3 days 1 hour and 15 minutes. Had to have a stove with me for that hot chocolate and early morning coffee. Its such a beautiful walk.
The south downs way is definitely a beautiful walk. Getting up early and starting the day hiking is a wonderful way to wake up. I preferred ending the trail in Winchester too!✨
Hi I’m here from Max’s channel. A few friends of mine have walked the SDW. I’ve had the opportunity a few times but never really plucked up the courage to try it for myself. Looks an epic adventure & im looking forward to watching your adventures. Cheers Andy
Hi there Keitei just stumbled across your video and loved it. As one of your other followers remarked "you make it look so easy" with another mentioning your mileage, dang Id dissolve doing those many miles in one hit, respect. Also admire your confidence with wild camping, especially out in the open as with night one, brilliant. Id be one eye open all night! Anyhoo, looking forward to part two, big thumbs up from me. First video I've watched going East to West, looks so different. Thanks for sharing and compiling the vid. ATB Dave aka wackyswanderings.
Cheers Dave :) thank you for checking out my video and leaving a comment. It was definitely different going from east to west as like you say, there aren't many videos out there of it. I'd recommend this hike to anyone, easy to follow and lots of places to stop and rest.
My main battery pack is an Anker model, I can charge my phone 3-4 times from it, I've has it for ten years. My little toes have recovered, thank you for asking :)
I'm not sure why I can't walk these kinds of miles. I just did the West Highland Way and was proud to have done 12-14 mile days and here you did 34!?!?. You were on a different trail yes, but still. I'm not sure I could walk that many miles in a day over flat ground. If I try to walk faster I start stumbling over rocks and my own two feet. Oh well..... I have to be happy with what I can do and not compare myself to other hikers. Also I am so impressed with how you just throw down a mat and bivvy\i right in the grass. I love the idea of doing this and sleeping basically anywhere but I know the biting insects at dusk must be horrendous. You are a complete bad ass in short.
Haha thank you 😁 it was a great adventure, do love travelling through the countryside and sleeping wherever I get tried. Ah cool, how was the West Highland Way? I've heard lots of good things about it 👍
Check out Base Camp Foods located in the UK. They have great camping foods that only need how water to get them ready to eat. They also have energy bars and other great food items.
@@stephenszalay cheers :D after eating sugary snacks all day, the savoury couscous was welcomed, it definitely makes you appreciate cooked meals when you get them though 🍝
Thank you for checking out my videos, I am careful when I travel and hike. I hope you are able to venture out a little and stay within your walking abilities to enjoy the outdoors.

It was very peaceful, I saw a few other hikers but they were going west > east, Winchester to Eastbourne unlike me who was heading > west.

Very cool! I've watched videos of Ultra marathon people going from Winchester heading East. Good on ya for having an adventure
Cheers Milomia - it was a great venture :D!

Fantastic video. Love how you did 30 miles, but your app said 34, so that's 4 miles of B roll. :) Ahaha
Haha that's one way of looking at it :p
This is the best walking channel.
Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoy my channel 🙂!

What battery charger are you using? How many charges can it deliver?

Hi Moses, that sounds great and perfect for lazy-chef me - you can only eat so much cous-cous :p
The cous cous cold soak is genius. But I don’t think I could hack that for several days. Much respect!
