      Well yeah a helmet would mess up his hair

    • @marcogenovesi8570
      @marcogenovesi8570 7 месяцев назад +4

      a helmet isn't terribly useful against a mace, go figure against a 3kg object. Yes it might reduce the caved in skull but you are still rocking the brain causing internal bleeding and possibly breaking the neck. Helmets are more against glancing hits

    • @kirbyis4ever
      @kirbyis4ever 3 месяца назад +1

      @@marcogenovesi8570Better we crack a helmet than a skull though. You might get a concussion with a helmet and it'll aborb much of the force. You're going to break your skull open without one. Ever wondered why they started wearing helmets in world war one?

    • @marcogenovesi8570
      @marcogenovesi8570 3 месяца назад

      @@kirbyis4ever the helmet does not magically eat the impact force of a mace and much less of a 3kg object. Unless you deflect it, you are still dead with TBI (traumatic brain injury) and possibly a broken neck even if the skull is not cracked. If you want protection from that you need a full exoskeleton (or a vehicle) that can actually tank the impact for you.
      They wore helmets in WW1 mostly for shrapnel and other small stuff thrown around by artillery, not for melee combat, nor for guns. Even modern helmets barely stop pistols and still leave you in a bad shape after the hit.
      Helmets designed for melee were very common in middle ages and renaissance but they were mostly for glancing blows and deflections. A direct hit with a mace or a polearm would still take you down.

The closest real world weapon I can think of us the Urumi - a sword whip - purely from how much danger it presents to the user. With this you're swinging a big weight that WILL come back to you. Same thing with an Urumi - a big sharp wiggly and unpredictability blade potentially whipping back at the user.

    Awesome test here, I was very impressed with how it went, well done. I was deeply concerned for you knees here after the first couple throws. I would generally recommend that you wear your safety stuff for at least the first 2 or 3 tests since if something is going to go wrong, its often going to be before you get a feel for what your doing. Doing it and then determining if you need the safety based on that feels like a very dangerous way of dealing with things. That said, it was a good video regardless of my concerns there so once again, very well done.
