  • Coatepec, Pueblo Magico, is known as the coffee capital of Mexico, but what makes it the coffee capital if it’s not even the top producer of coffee in Mexico?
    If you are traveling through Mexico and are stopping in Veracruz we definitely recommended taking time to check out Xalapa and Coatepec.
    In this video we visit the largest coffee producer of Veracruz and Kevin's favorite coffee brand: Bola de Oro.
    Finca Roma & Museo Bola de Oro is located in Mexico's coffee capital, the Coatepec region of Veracruz.
    What to do in Pueblos Magicos:

    Not going to lie, really enjoying seeing the content in Mexico again. We love coffee, a close second to mezcal/agave spirits. Would love to visit here. Favorite coffee has come from Chiapas, with Veracruz a close second. Can only imagine how much better it is to enjoy nearby the source.

    • @EatBailaTravel
      @EatBailaTravel  Год назад +1

      Coffee in Veracruz has more earthy notes to it, too strong for our usual go-to method: espresso. But the Americano ☕️ is just perfect with this coffee. The coffee in Chiapas we did enjoy as espresso ☕️

    I have to watch this as I drink my morning coffee. Of course.
    So this is the sort of, but not really, Seattle of Mexico. Because Seattle doesn't exactly have a lot of coffee farms.
    BEAUTIFUL architecture.
    And yes, when climbing a snake mountain, wear long pants.
    That view is NUTS.
    Bola De Oro. The Spotted Cow of coffee. And there is something cool about that, the demand for quality leading to the coffee only being sold there. (If you've never had Spotted Cow, go to Wisconsin and get it. Only sold there. Best beer I've ever had.)
    And you have to sport the Illini gear while doing it.
    Hour-long lines for churros. Worthy. And those look NUTS!

    • @EatBailaTravel
      @EatBailaTravel  Год назад +1

      I'm glad you watched this with your morning coffee! ☕️ You're not the first to mention that this reminds you of Seattle! Now I REALLY wanna go to Seattle. I love a town/city with a strong coffee culture. I feel like the people are friendlier and generally in a better mood and I'm certain the coffee has something to do with it lol
      And yes we've had Spotted Cow! I (Jenny) lived in Madison for grad school at UW and Kevin visited often. We had lots of Spotted Cow! So good

    Easily the best video so far from you two! Not even exaggerating but I have been going through an extremely hard time lately and this video made my day! Have you all ever had Cuban coffee? It is made in Puerto Rico now but I love Cafe Bustelo the most haha I am bias but from what I have heard the Caribbean has really good coffee where even Jamaica has a brand known as Blue Mountain that has had a lot of good reviews as well!

    Hi really enjoy your travels. How do xalapa's coffee region and coffee compare to Colombia s ?

    • @EatBailaTravel
      @EatBailaTravel  Год назад

      The region is very similar but with all honesty we like Colombian coffee better. Colombian coffee has way more variety of coffee beans due to its geographic region and it’s landscapes are way more in between mountains than in Mexico. So Colombia’s coffee region is way more scenic than Mexicos
