P0455 & P0456 Fault Codes on a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Ron Ananian The Car Doctor™ has a 2008 Jeep Cherokee in the shop with a check engine light on. The fault codes P0455 and P0456 show an issue with evaporative emissions, which often indicates a bad gas cap.
During diagnostics, Ron starts by searching for the leak with the help of his Speed Smoke machine. To avoid overwhelming the system with too much smoke, Ron uses the 'air only' function on the Speed Smoke machine. Like a true car doctor, he listens for leaks with his stethoscope.
Near the vehicle's ESIM (Emissions System Integrity Monitor), Ron hears rushing air. He examines the ESIM and discovers corrosion and a hole. A new ESIM is installed and fixes the problem.
