      Your information is consistently the best in the field Dr Ruscio.. Thank you for your efforts, you’ve given me so much insight into dealing with my gut issues when previously I thought I had tried everything albeit not properly or consistently enough. Sending the stool test to two different labs is a great way of showing how inconclusive they can be.

    I've been doing the carnivore diet for the last eight months. I had horrible constipation and everyone kept saying increase your fat. I was drowning in fat and nothing was happening. I watched Andrew Saul video on high dose vitamin C and like magic things are moving great. I'm taking magnesium, probiotics and hcL, fiber but vitamin C seems to be the missing piece of the puzzle for me . Btw very glad I found your channel.

      @jan_po I started carnivore because around March 2023 I had a very severe case of covid and the only thing my body wanted was meat. All the health vegetables I used to eat made me sick and I couldn't eat them. I was curious why when I was deathly ill my body only wanted meat so I decided to give carnivore a try.

    What helped me with constipation was a digestive enzymes blend and gut acid promoting products such as apple cider vinegar, vitamin C and betaine HCL. The stomach needs to be acidic enough to digest food properly and many digestive problems like acid reflux and sibo are often caused by low stomach acid. So all these alkalising medications can make your digestion much worse in the long term.

      can probiotics help?

    • @dennisward43
      @dennisward43 10 месяцев назад

      @@alessshorts I would argue in the short term no but in the long term yes but everyone is different. If you have gut problems adding probiotics to your diet just increases the amount of bacteria in parts of your gut that already have too much. The first thing to do is to reduce it by making sure your stomach acid is high enough to digest the food you eat properly.

    Dr Ruscio can you please elaborate about what could be the issue here many times if I have to go out of the house I have to go the loo and check if I have to have a bowel movement. Whenever I'm outside it is in back of my mind that I need to know where a clean washroom around will be here. What can I do for this issue? What is it called? Most say it is IBS

    Hi Doc. Have you encountered significant weight loss accompanying IBS? All tests for sinister things have been negative but I continue to struggle with weight loss even on weeks when I eat well? It seems clear that something is impeding my ability to gain nutrients from my food, which surely points to a problem in my small intestines???

    • @dpstrial
      @dpstrial 11 месяцев назад +4

      If it is a problem with your small intestine, then it points to something like villous atrophy, a feature of coeliac disease (which I have). On the other hand maybe it is some enzymatic issue, in which you are unable to break down your food. In either case this will pass more nutrients to the bacteria in the colon to break down. This will increase colonic bloating.

    Can you take anti-microbials and probiotics at the same time, or maybe alternate them like weekly? It seems to me that the anti-microbials would kill off the probiotics.

    • @DrRuscioDC
      @DrRuscioDC  9 месяцев назад +2

      Hypothetically and in general, there's very clear evidence that antibiotics or antimicrobials, agents that kill things, work better and have less side effects when co-administered with probiotics at the same time.
      So ideally taken together, but you know again, there's some flexibility.

    Hey Doc, does heating up fermented food like kimchi still provide benefits if the bacterias are killed off?

    • @brennan353
      @brennan353 11 месяцев назад +1

      I will let Dr. Ruscio give you the final answer on this, but it is my understanding that it does provide benefit - more so than capsules. The one thing you must be aware of is that much of fermented food sold in groceries is pasteurized thus contain no live bacteria. If the product is not refrigerated for sale it is likely pasteurized. Making kimchi at home is more involved than many would like to do but many home made fermented food is about as easy as it gets, not to mention very cheap - and delicious. The classic food, of course, is sauerkraut but there are tons of simple recipes on line for the food of your preference.

      @@Madevilz Looks like you've got the real deal 🙂 BTW after I replied, I saw other videos by Dr Ruscio which confirmed what I had read before, i.e. it is a good source. I am no expert but I think this would only give lactobacillus - which could be enough.
