Cardboard along the radiator!!! I slipped pulling out the starter before and bought myself a new radiator. Sensitive lil guy it is.

Thank you! That's pretty much exactly what I need to do on my Vibe. If you included the weight of the freon to be charged at the end, it would be very helpful.

I'm glad the video was helpful to you, The weight of freon maybe different depending on your model and year. And I wouldn't want to tell you something wrong. There's usually a sticker under the hood that tells you the weight or you can check with your local auto parts store they should be able to tell you.

I need to replace my compressor on my 2009 vibe. I don't own a evacuater pump . Was that something you can rent. Also the oil you used you said it was to check for leaks . Is that all the oil used for or does it lubricate moving parts and a measured amount of oil was added later. Thanks Pete

I don't know if the evacuator is something that can be rented or not. I added dye so if this vehicle has any leaks in the future it will be easy to identify, the oil was added directly to the compressor but it was not recorded.

@@13sGARAGEthanks for sharing your videos. They are helpful. My dealer wanted $1600.00 to replace the compressor. I said you got to be kidding, he said he wasn't. Crazy stuff

@@petedetects7012 wow. Definitely not a $1,600 job. That dealership must be hurting.

Maybe I missed it, at what point do you add the oil to the compressor?

    • @13sGARAGE

Oil is added after I put a vacuum on the system to check for leaks. After the oil is added, recharge the system
