Larry closes this discussion saying that his intellectual heroes come out of the 60's. I wonder who they were?
Mine was Emmett Grogran, who spearheaded the Diggers. Their biggest accomplishment was to serve their Community (drink!) by giving away free food to 200 people daily.
It would be something to feed the masses daily for one week out in the desert. Let's take the best of Burning Man and move forward, Larry!

With all due respect, the 60s were not "recess," as you state. I know, Larry, you don't mean to belittle the accomplishments and sacrifices (including the loss of life) of those who struggled in the struggle for racial, sexual, gender, handicapped and other rights. Granted some of the 60s were silly but Burning Man represents the trippiest actions and attitudes of that era. I love it...but IT is recess from reality...not the 60s. Don Zerilli Mooradian
