    How did the skeeters treat you? As someone who is from there and spent my summers in the rainforest and flatlands of Lethem, I know the beauty of the country and its flora and fauna. Waking up in the morning and hearing the beautiful deafening sounds of all the birds and animals is an amazing time of the day, because as it gets hotter later, they usually go quiet. It was a treat watching your video as it brought back many memories. Would love to be able to return there with my cameras, but don’t think that will happen so will have to satisfy myself vicariously. And yes the R5 MK2 is an amazing camera for birding!!

    Great trip and video blog Glen! Always a pleasure to watch! Regarding the wind noise on microphones, I've seen vloggers using micromuff or something similar that is supposed to help a lot and is a fairly easy fix. It might be something to be tested. Cheers!

    Awesome, as usual. Always good to see your vlogs. Super interesting not only for the birds but also the countries and habitat descriptions.
    What piece of equipment do you use to record and playback to get birds to come in? Do you typically use your own recordings or do you use some available from some bird sites on the Internet? Thanks.

    i noticed you dont use a better beamer. does it not add much in your opinion? the new flashes are pretty powerful. i have a sb5000 because i like that it can be cordless with the d5. i have a similar setup to yours but the nikon version....

    Great video 👍 Enjoyed the virtual trip. What kind of toucan is that at 1:53 ?

    • @GlennBartley
      @GlennBartley  7 лет назад

      That is a Toco Toucan - www.glennbartley.com/naturephotography/birds/TOCO%20TOUCAN.html

    • @mostlynature6848
      @mostlynature6848 7 лет назад

      Thanks! My question may have mislead you because I called it a toucan. The one I was looking at is at 1:53 . I've since matched it as a Black-necked Araçari (I think).
      Love your videos!

    Very nice video. Watching your videos wakes the bird photographer in me ! Hardly finds time though! Is that a 600mm or 800 ?

    Another great video blog Glenn! Just wondering, for those images you took of the smaller birds, do you usually use a 1.4 or 2x extender on them so they fill up the frame, or do you simply just give them a heavier crop?

  • @arielfields6135
    @arielfields6135 7 лет назад

    Fantastic !great pics man!
    I enjoy your vlogs so much..it's been a long time..
    How much of the time do you use a flash?
    In what cases do you not use the flash?
    And last question- Do you recommend me to use a flash?(I don't shoot tropical bird's because i don't live in the correct place for that)
    Thaks alot!

    • @GlennBartley
      @GlennBartley  7 лет назад +1

      Glad you enjoyed it.
      Basically any time I am not shooting in direct low angle light I use flash. So that might be 70-80% of the time.
      I think flash just opens up so many more possibilities so yes I'd recommend getting one and learning how to use it.
      See - www.glennbartley.com/FlashEbook.html

      Thanks for your reply!
      I might start using a flash in some cases.
      But does the flash frighten birds?
      And Is a Tripod necessary for a Nikon D7100+ 150-600 SIGMA?(Haha i don't own a 600 f4 like you do☻)

    Hi my name is Reed, I am eleven years old and I just recently bought a canon sx710 point and shoot camera with my own money, and I love wildlife photography and the videos you post. I know that professional photographers like you don't use point and shoot cameras but unfortunately me or my parents can't afford a fancy dslr camera and lens. So I was wondering if maybe you could post something about using a point and shoot camera to take good pictures of wildlife.

    Glenn should I sell my canon 80d and buy canon 7d ii? Which one has a better ISO?

    Hi Glen, my name is Chad and i am a bird freak over on the mainland of British Columbia and i shoot everything from Dark Eyed Junco's to Northern Harrier's and i love your work. I recently purchased the Stokes Field Guide to Birds and some of your stuff is in there! Question: Was that a Harpy Eagle youngster at the end of this video? If so what an amazing opportunity that must have been, it is my dream to see and shoot that amazing bird one day, if they can survive human stupidity!

    • @GlennBartley

      It's really tough when you are in the field and the video is not the priority. Wish I had a film crew!

    • @kfone1

      Glenn Bartley Thanks for the reply Glenn. Maybe some kind of off camera mic would help if you're not already using one. Still a good video and I always enjoy your content on here, your website and your camera guides.

    • @GlennBartley
      @GlennBartley  7 лет назад +1

      The big problem is wind. And the answer would be a wireless lapel mic with a wind screen. But its just impossible when I am chasing around birds every minute. I wish I had a magic solution...but other than having a camera person come with...
