  • The Suzuki V-Strom 1050 and V-Strom 1050DE. Two new versions of the popular adventure bike will be released in the 2023 and ABR travelled to Greece for their international press launch to put them to the test.
    In a world of adventure bikes capable of taking you to the ends of the Earth, the Suzuki V-Strom has always been, the sensible choice.
    A road-focused motorcycle designed weekends away, summer tours abroad, and perhaps the occasional green lane. And while the V-Strom has always been a capable, reliable, and affordable machine, it has often been overshadowed by its more flamboyant competitors, until now.
    In the new V-Strom 1050DE, this shrinking violet has stepped into the spotlight.
    Join James rides the standard Suzuki V-Strom 1050 and the new V-Strom 1050DE, the most off-road focused V-Strom ever made with its 21” front wheel, longer travel suspension, greater ground clearance, wider handlebars.
    Has Suzuki managed to improve on a winning formula that has seen 100,000 V-Stroms sold throughout the world since the turn of the century? Join James in Greece to find out.

    I’m sick and tired of reviewers moaning about the screen adjustment. It’s a non issue if you own a bike.

      It’s a non issue if you own a bike🤔, what? But I bet you go out and buy One that works for you? Obviously you’ve never had a bike that is adjustable.

      @hair2050 Год назад +7

      @@trucker-d4161 doesn’t one normally settle on a height or position and leave it there? I have never seen anyone in all my years adjusting a screen in public. And nope. Everyone has a different posture helmet etc, Same bike and screen many different experiences. If you’d ever owned a bike you would know that. Personally I have adjusted mine once. Riding along the buffeting was driving me crazy so I stopped. Took out a screwdriver 🪛 and took the thing off. (Fortunately it just fitted into my top-box. Best thing I ever did. Never put it back on. A one time adjustment! Much prefer life without it.

      @@hair2050 well…….having owned close to 30 bikes in my 48 years of riding, currently owning a goldwing, vstrom and klx300, for you to say don’t people just adjust it and leave it. 😂😂😂😂😂😂tells me how really wet behind the ears you really are. @Jay Bee because? You need to adjust it regularly? On a related note; I was thinking 🤔 a few days ago that naked bikes getting reviewed obviously are devoid of screen discussion. As I’ve previously mentioned having removed mine the bike is more or less naked and for local riding it is good. Don’t know about long distance however

    Just picked up a '24 black 1050 DE a few hours ago. They are a stellar machine for 15k us. going to ride the snot out of it.

    Nice review sir. I just wish that they had left the 1050 with spoke wheels like the years before. Alloys just don’t look as good.
    I really enjoyed your review. It was pithy and at the right length of time.
    But all you journos should stop harping on the adjustable windscreen. For most of us the discussion on this feature is like the one about power adjustable driver’s seat in a car. It is a non-issue. Certainly most of us are not mucking around with the settings in our car seat or the wind screen on our motorcycles. We set it in one position and then never touch it. Of course it is possible that on a rare chilly or hot day you would want to raise or lower the screen here. But that is perfectly doable here with the bike stopped. This is hardly an inconvenience. We are so spoilt with the machines on offer today that we keep harping about minor non-issues.

      21/18" wire spoke wheels have always been an option for the 1050 since its release, through Hessler or Trail de Couvert ,Suzuki are just playing catch up with the aftermarket industry

      @@williamrae9954 thank you. But such aftermarket goodies aren’t available everywhere in the world. Certainly not where I live. Why go to that extent? Suzuki doesn’t even sell the 1050s here. We get only the 650. 😐

    Great review and enjoyed watching it, ok maybe a couple of times. Good feedback and load of information without getting stuck on technical data. I have already booked my test ride at my local Suzuki dealer @Savage Motorcycles Perth. Some comments I found interesting,,,, It must have been one of the first reviews of the old 1050 where someone mentioned having to get off the bike to adjust the screen. I have owned my 1050XT for two years and have not nor cannot see the need to adjust the screen while on the bike or while riding? Planning - adjust it before or at a stop if I need to. Same could be said, and be more required to adjust the seat setting while riding? Will definitively keep some of the pointers in mind during my test ride. Great review. Oh previous comment - Heated grips,,, I live in Australia and something I am happy to have as an option, We ride in 30 to 40deg C days.
    Thanks James
