I love snow leopard’s tail but prehensile tailed animals so it would be cool if there was an animal with the density and pattern of a snow leopard and the strength and grip of a spider monkey!
The only North American animal who has a prehensile tail is also the only marsupial found in North America: The Virginia Opossum They are one of my of my favorite animals and I leave food out for 3 that live in my backyard during the evening
Your binturong is really well-trained, when he gets nippy how do you deter him from doing that? I know what I have to do with the one I'm working with. I'm just curious how other people do it.
We use positive reinforcement at Brookfield Zoo. Positive behaviors are rewarded, while negative behaviors - like nipping - are ignored, and the animal is instead redirected to a favorite or "easy" behavior.
