That’s true but countries like the US at least prosecute domestic abusers. I’m from the Middle East originally and lived most of my life there and there are no laws to protect children or women who are the most abused people there. It’s kinda seen as ok for parents to hit their kids and for a man to hit his wife. It’s seen as some sort of disciplining for women and females in particular and there are religious phrases that encourage this unfortunately. So it will never be really criminalised like in some countries. Some men even caused their wife’s permanent disability and never even got to spend a day in jail. One sad case that I know of, the man made his wife blind on purpose and nothing happened to him, another man keeps abusing his female children, starve them, cut their hair etc.. and no one did anything to him. Women weather wifes, daughters or sisters are just seen a property. The problem is that no one from there want to admit to that.
I am also middle eastern and I have known horrendous stories of abuse on both continents. Abusers almost always target women with little income, education, family, friends and from abusive backgrounds. People look the other way because they are afraid or they are abusive themselves. It is easier to live with your conscience if you can justify your inaction and blame the victim. I have met so many women in Illinois that can't seem to ever get free; mostly due to a system that is corrupt and money talks. In my experience the Arab social services community is dismissive and gives the men a pass because they pay the bills or have monetary influence. Attorneys are usually young and inexperienced and are easily swayed by hopes of prominence and recognition and want to curry favor within a legal community that is only moved by money.

A call to 911 from the house, a male, the 2 male brother's are alive. Unfortunately there are Muslims who believe in honor killings (not all Muslims) & this case that may be the case. If honor killing is the reason I hope prosecution looks at the serious issue. Honor crimes in the UK have been reported in the last ten years.
I always wonder why they called them honor killings, what is the honor in killing your 15 year old daughter who don't want to marriedn an old ass gron man? The UK in other countries talking about women's rights while these things are happening in their country but the police in the UK are quicker to act on other stuff but seems to me that they're uncomfortable dealing these things.

@@michelep6300 it's something seen in Arab and Muslim countries. it's the killing of female relatives by male relatives to regain "family honor" after the female committed some grievous sin like sex before marriage, refusing to marry a suitor approved by the family, becoming westernized, infidelity, ect.
