This show brings back innocent memories . I remember snuggling in my blanket , sitting there listening and ,being transported to another world of imagination. It is sad that the quality of children's entertainment has been diminished to commercial success. Shows like the friendly giant were humble in nature.

I remember watching the show when I was little. Mom used to tell me that this was her favourite show when she was a little girl. That was back in 1991 when I was 5 and Mom was 36. My mom passed away six years ago due to a brain aneurism but the theme song early one morning always brings tears to my eyes. I love you and miss you everyday Mom. 😔

Sorry for your loss. Grief, mourning, it is love that endures. Be assured though, no one dies, their body might perish, but they live on. Whether in heaven or hell, God will eventually allow everyone back on to the new earth to live in peace and love forever. This resembles the Friendly Giant in Mr. Rogers neighborhood. But really, I love both shows still. Wonderful men. God rest them both 🙏🏼😔

+Aime Hutton The children today should be watching shows like we did, not the bad stuff they've got today

Some NET/PBS stations brought this show into the States in my youth. KTWU in Topeka, KS would show it at 6:45 p.m.

The end credits always made me melancholy as a kid. Particularly when the cow jumps over the moon. It meant the show was over and it was time to focus on other more mundane things.
