Excellence! You guys are amazing, thanks for blessing the E drum community with your setup and knowledge! Ive learned alot, and you really helped me put together my kit!
Thanks Justin, it means a lot that you watched this long video:) Goedrums is actually a recourse for a lot of e-drum companies. These clamps are used on drum-tec racks and the hihat controller is used by Jobeky for example.
I would build it in a similar way and would use big cable connectors where you take off rack parts. So you could just unplug the whole bunch with one plug.
Yes I agree with you. The TD20 rack was one of Roland problems I hated. I'm talking my church into investing in New clamps and new drum riser which I hope to cover on my channel. Work is making hard right now to focus on it.
Excellent work, but one suggestions. I would not cut the cables to shorten them. Instead, I will first lay them backward from the pads/cymbals to the module. Any slag it has, I'll just make figure 8 loops and tie it under the module. You can't see the cables unless you look directly under the module. This way, you don't have to cut/strip/soldier/wrap those cables, and they are reusable.
You should add affiliate links for U.S. Shoppers. Great build! What are your thoughts on customizing an e-kit for traveling. Possibly 1/4 inch cable connections at each section of the rack for easy tear down?
Can I ask if you think it would be more expensive to use EDrum racks or a chrome acoustic rack if starting from scratch for an edrum setup? I’m guessing edrum racks would be cheaper but I’m looking for a larger wider setup so I can mount 3 rack toms . Although that would work on your setup also🤔
Rather than cutting cables i just try to find closest length for application and coil any excess at the module then you can bundle the coils if needed.
What is your opiniom on the Roland MDS-12V rack?In particular, the newer plastic hinged clamps with cable ports that replacled the ones you got rid of here.
@@Vdrumtips1 That was my opinion as well, although I had heard differing views regarding the plastic clamps.I almost bought one on Ebay a few weeks ago,but then 10 sniper bids came in in the last 5 seconds.
I plan to build a custom black rack but the Goedrum - Drum Rack T Clamp does not seem available anymore, and the Drum-tec version is not black but chrome only.
1. I replaced some of them. 2. I built the rack from scratch and wanted to start clean. 3. I drilled holes into the pipes, which would have been too much of a hassle with those clamps.
Sarah Asher Geronimo Adminstrator Sorry, but I don't understand what you mean specifically. But I guess you are asking about the cables in the rack pipes? Well no, cause the cable snake does not allow you to fit angled jacks trough the pipes.
Hey great video! (Yeah just watched yesterday!) what's your thought on the MDS-9? here in Argentina is very difficult to find E-drum gear and need to upgrade my rack. I've got a td20 and large pads (upgrades from a td8). Danke :)
You have a hard accent though the walloutlets are british... where are you from? xD Anyways, nice video :) Even though I hoped for a built from scratch rack and not a conversion...
I own an Alesis dm6 and am thinking of buying the Roland td11. So, can I connect the output of alesis dm6 drum kit to the mix in of the td11 module and basically create a hybrid huge kit? Will it work? and if I play music through the mix in from the dm6, I can hear it from the output of the td11?
Vdrum Tips Also doch :D Ich bin auch Deutscher, aber lebe gerade in Japan. Hab nicht so viel Platz hier, hast du irgendwelche Empfehlungen für ein "Tabletop" Gerät?
I was almost clapping my hands watching what u've done here. What an artistic work! God bless U, this is beautiful!
I spent hours on my cables and you just made them look like shit. Awesome job, great work.
Charlie Rickman I spent ages too, just did not include all of it in the video. Making cables takes time.
Beautiful work, it looks so sleek!
Thank you, except the scratches at the pipes though. But they can be repainted later:)
Excellence! You guys are amazing, thanks for blessing the E drum community with your setup and knowledge! Ive learned alot, and you really helped me put together my kit!
Thank you. I would be more than happy if you send me a pic of your work:)
Finally watched the video, you're ingenious. You mentioned the goedrum clamps, I agree they are solid and work great. Love the cable management.
Thanks Justin, it means a lot that you watched this long video:) Goedrums is actually a recourse for a lot of e-drum companies. These clamps are used on drum-tec racks and the hihat controller is used by Jobeky for example.
Excellent job! I have NO suggestions on how to improve your setup - it looks so neat and tidy. Thanks for the detailed share too 💖 🇨🇦
Fantastic build! doing mine now!
Wow - lots of work, but the end product look terrific! Kudos!
Thank you! Yes, that was a hell of a project, but so much fun to build.
I love what you have done here. Great job.
Alas am moving my kit to and from gigs and rehearsals. I need to pull he rack apart every time. Sigh.
Thank you Brad, so you would need a rack that can be dissembled? Or just a compact one which is light and foldable?
A rack that can be dissembled. It's a much modified DM10X kit. Would not fit on a smaller rack.
I would build it in a similar way and would use big cable connectors where you take off rack parts. So you could just unplug the whole bunch with one plug.
Brilliant video, thanks for sharing!!

Absolutely OUTSTANDING!
Smurf431 Thank you very much. That was a big project. I t does not seem so, but it took a lot of planning.
Thanks so much for the reply, it looks great. Great tips on everything. Mark
Thank you for watching and commenting Mark:)
what a thorough video. Thanks!
Amazing work, Marcel. I consider hiring you and inviting you to Germany for my cable mess. ;)
Mike Luke thank you! Well let's see what my time schedule says... :)
this is a really great video and respectful job
Love the Luke's advertisment xD
Ivan Horňák You have noticed it;)
Good job. It looks great!

Hi Rick, Danke!
Excellent work, but one suggestions.

Well, I can extend them again if I want to:D
very cool!
Brilliant

Thanks, there are actually some affiliate links for US shoppers:) Yes, I would even use a multi-pin connector to divide the segments.
Genius ✌️👍
Great job. Did you make the headphone rack? I didn't quite catch what you said. Thanks Mark.
The headphone mount is made out of rest pieces, I posted some pictures on Facebook.
Can I ask if you think it would be more expensive to use EDrum racks or a chrome acoustic rack if starting from scratch for an edrum setup?

hi, please make a video on how to build a custom edrum from 0, to use via midi with virtual drums like superior drumer, etc thx
Rather than cutting cables i just try to find closest length for application and coil any excess at the module then you can bundle the coils if needed.
What is your opiniom on the Roland MDS-12V rack?In particular, the newer plastic hinged clamps with cable ports that replacled the ones you got rid of here.
I would say it is the 2nd best rack available (after the MDS-25/50).
@@Vdrumtips1 That was my opinion as well, although I had heard differing views regarding the plastic clamps.I almost bought one on Ebay a few weeks ago,but then 10 sniper bids came in in the last 5 seconds.

Oh my... you could teach Roland a thing or two about e-drums.
Thanks:)
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Is this rack compatible with the Alesis Strike Pro Se? Or can I do this mods to the Alesis rack?
Hi could you tell me what the rubber edging is on the 3rd tom and where can i get some. I live in the UK. Thanks.
How did you rack the floor tom? Or did you use the one that came with your TD-30?
Why do you remove the clamps? It seems unnecessary to remove them when letting them on the rack which saves you time. Great job btw.
What clamps do you mean exactly? :)
The clamps for connecting the cymbal arms and tom arms. At 1.33 you have them all removed from the rack
1. I replaced some of them. 2. I built the rack from scratch and wanted to start clean. 3. I drilled holes into the pipes, which would have been too much of a hassle with those clamps.
Can This Custom Rack Compatable with Rolamd TD-11KV
Sarah Asher Geronimo Adminstrator you can attach the components of the td11, but the cables won’t go trough
The drum rack t clamp link is wrong, it goesto the cable holder.
Really? Sorry I will change that. Thanks for letting me know:)
Np :)
I have the same tubes, but all the others clamps on the video are for an expensive project
Vdrum Tips does it works for TD-11kv rack system
Sarah Asher Geronimo Adminstrator Sorry, but I don't understand what you mean specifically. But I guess you are asking about the cables in the rack pipes? Well no, cause the cable snake does not allow you to fit angled jacks trough the pipes.

Thanks, I had an MDS-9 before. It is a great rack and able to carry heavy pads. All my gear was mounted onto the MDS-9 before.
You have a hard accent though the walloutlets are british... where are you from? xD
Anyways, nice video :) Even though I hoped for a built from scratch rack and not a conversion...
I am a Germany living in Ireland. I think about building one from scratch. After a year using this rack I discovered some weak spots.
Yes, this is possible. I mentioned this method in this article. Have a look at it to see what else works:) www.v-drumtips.com/adding-more-pads/
your accent sounds so german, but your wall outlets are UK outlets for sure! Confused :C
I live in Ireland and I am German:)
Vdrum Tips Also doch :D
First 😊
Second!
