Always love when you make a video, we have to wait so long between them! will you be moving towards 100% 3d printing content or will you go back to doing some knex?
I totally understand, but I've gotten better at it! It only took two months to design the demon drop model. Printing it only took a couple weeks. The holidays have slowed construction down. I design 3D printed parts nearly every day for my job so I've gotten pretty fast at it. If you need some help just let me know!
It’s so cool to see this project moving along! The small detailed mechanisms like those trap doors amaze me. Do you come up with them yourself or apply previous knowledges to make them?
Thank you! Some of the mechanisms are replicated from the real ride, but most are original. I've got no prior knowledge about the ride other than what's available on the internet. I'm an engineer so it's not too far off what I do professionally.
You need to do a knex swing launch like top thrill 2 the mechanics have been delaying mine for about half a year 😂 the scale i need is also just stupid
I'd like to build a Top Thrill Dragster or Kingda Ka as my next project. I know others have built both before, but I'd like to build one with an air launch. I started working on it last May, but got busy with unrelated events. It'll probably be TTD because I don't think I have the ceiling height to build Kingda Ka. I'm going to get back to that when the Demon Drop project is over!
I love my mk4s. It does have a couple of quirks, but overall it's been a super reliable workhorse that I can depend on. It's a night and day comparison to my old ender 3s. The core one is super tempting and I'll probably buy one as a second printer.
You make designing this look really simple. Nice work!
This is looking fantastic.
Thank you!

My next project will be an air launched knex/printed coaster! Knex projects are faster, but I enjoy 3D printing projects too.
@ModeledCoasters yh I'd love to 3d print more for my builds but it takes sooo long 😂

@ModeledCoasters definitely worth giving you shout outs in videos and links in my descriptions in return for trains designed 😂
I can probably help you with that. My email is modeledcoasters@gmail.com if you want to talk more.

@ that’s cool! I want to pursue a career in engineering!

How’s the Mk IV working for you? Was about to pull the trigger on that printer, well, soon will be the Core One.
