Recovering A 1992 Ford Thunderbird In Local Lake

- What a heck of a rollercoaster this trip has been!
As some of you may know, we were able to locate and bring home Charles “Chuck” Fluharty yesterday.
Once we knew that Charles was brought to shore we packed up and headed to our next case in Wellston, Ohio to help search in the long ago case of Tom Long.
Tom went missing over 50 years ago in his almost brand new Pontiac Catalina. This search brought us to a local strip pit that had always been rumored to be Tom’s final resting place.
We put our boat in and began to sonar. We didn’t find anything in the first couple of parts of the strip pit, but almost immediately after entering the 3rd section, we located a vehicle.
Eric and I dove and were able to locate a license plate. It unfortunately wasn’t the vehicle we were looking for.
We contacted law enforcement and their response time was amazing. They allowed us to pull the vehicle. Turns out the vehicle was a 1992 Thunderbird and had been stolen approximately 18-19 years ago.
This is the live of us recovering this vehicle!

Awesome you recovered a missing man just before this. I love watching more people getting involved on these recovery missions across the states. Great you are teaming up with other divers. You will learn a lot from each other. Glad to see families getting answers and seeing the waters getting cleared up.
It really is an amazing thing to be able to help families and clean up the environment for future generations
Lindsay please know that you bring an awful lot to the team, your commentary is awesome your chemistry with Jacob is awesome and fun to be a part of. As a ten year veteran of the US Coast Guard and a lifetime member of the certified Rednecks club, that was the most glorious and horrifying towing operation I have ever witnessed. I loved it !!!! Keep up the great work.

I learned to drive in a 1962 Thunderbird, and it was vintage then! Ive always had a soft spot for T-Birds! This was interesting. Poor Bird... deserved better...

It's a common practice for stolen car insurance fraud.
@@Hanzyscure Also, a cop I know said every single time a "stolen" vehicle is set on fire it's insurance fraud. 100% of the time. Real car thieves and joy riders don't do that.
Perfect example cars wre made alot better back then than now. Newer ones would of been dust after 20 years. Great job guys

the service you do by recovering these cars and trucks is amazing. Thank you for what you and your crew did. Here in Phoenix Arizona we have a canal system to bring water to neighborhoods. they drain those canals every January. I have seen couches chairs shopping carts and bicycles in there. So far no cars. Great job guys.

One of my most favorite cars that I've ever owned were the 89-97 Thunderbirds. They were such fun to drive! We used to buy a new car every 2 years or so and I think I owned 4 of them until they went out of production in 97.

I owned a 1988 2 door T-Bird, it was a beautiful car. It hugged the corners.
I bet it was a cool car
I had an 88 with the 5.0. when I was 16. It was a fixer upper my dad bought me for 200 bucks. Worked all summer long to buy parts for it. Spent every dollar I made on that car to get it on the road. Absolutely loved that car. Sure wish I had it back. It ended up in the local junk yard after I neglected it.
Yes it was a COOL car, I Loved to drive it on the back roads, that car was a dream to drive, and it loved corners.
The 87-88's are gorgeous. I keep my '87 5.0 clean and in running order.

Those little things on Jacobs suit are what we call hitch hikers. They are hard to get off clothing and shoes. We have those all over the woods in Virginia and here in North Carolina. Keep up the great work you guys. you are so awesome!!!!

Lindsay, this is a must, you have to learn how to operate the motor and boat for your own safety and that of Eric and Jacob's. I know how you feel, I have a lot of food allergies to. Plus I have no teeth and I am allergic to the glue that holds the dentures in. So I am limited on what snacks I can eat. It takes a lot of money to do those trips. One trip can cost am easy $2000.00 or more. Even though we live in a world of chaos, y'all give a ton of kindness.
