Our hearts go out to Dimash and his family as we learn that Grandfather Kudaibergen Aitbayev has passed away at the age of 82. May Love and Peace comfort you all in this difficult time. ❤️
It is simply because Dimash fights for love, for peace, for the union of people, he fights for our mother earth, which is the planet we live on. He fights every day showing his being, his joys and his anger, he shows us his honesty and humility. How not to want it? If even his name means "gift of god, with wings"

Many of his ethnic songs don't have the fireworks of some of his other performances. But they pull at your heartstrings all the same. More, actually, I think he is at his best singing the songs of his country--he reveals a glimpse of his soul to us.
The text is from an anonymous letter, where the soldier says farewell to his community around Samal Mountain. You could here the wind, the streams, the rain, the wolves, the dogs, the caravan of recrutes getting on the move and the mountains echoing the last farewell cry.. Dimash is tastefully and respectfully putting the message first, not intent on showing off all his vocal skills.
Thank you very much for the reaction to our beloved, God-given Dimash. His full name is Dinmukhammed, which in translation is Din (this is Faith) Muhammad (the great prophet of Muslims). In turn, the name of the prophet translated from Arabic as (praised)
When Kazakhstan belonged to Russia, young Kazakhs were forced, by the Russian Empire, to leave their homes and fight many years until their total massacre. The story of one of these young people, who desperately marches into a war that is not his, besides the sadness of leaving his parents, elders, with no one to take care of and the certainty that he will never see the mountains (“tau”) of Kazakhstan again generated this wonderfully sad song! In addition to Dimash's talent, we have a wonderful ambience and two fantastic musicians: Olzhas - Master in playing Qobyz (Kobyz, who looks like a violin), the other who plays “Pau de Chuva”! A supernatural journey to the plains of Kazakhstan, through Music!
This song is actually about when the tsar forced all Kazakh men between 19 and 43 into the Russian army in WWI. This violated an agreement between Russia and Kazakhstan. They took the men just at harvest time leaving only the children and older people to bring in the crops. This led to a terrible famine where many died. This is what led to the uprising that you mention.
I really enjoyed your reaction to this mournful song by Dimash. I learned earlier that his grandfather died today and I imagine he will sing a special commemorative song at his concert in Kuala Lumpur in a few days time. I will be there to witness it. You are right, he attracts a following as great for his humanity as for his music. I am going to his concert that I have never done in my life for any other artist I have admired. I want to be in his presence and feel honoured to be so! I am excited as anyone of any age younger than me at 78 years old.
Dimash has several songs that don’t have extreme bites. Try Amanat from his digital show. It is like a orayer. And Quaragym-ai is a song performed in an empty theatre and with a pianist on stage. The song was written by their beloved mentor from college who had died from covid. And Dimash and the pianist wanted to pay their respects. The song is about a beloved daughter leaving the family home to live with her future in-laws. The father wonders what his daughter’s life will be like with her new family. The performance is heart rending. Dimash struggles to get through it. He sung it again in his digital show, but the earlier time is extra special. I love all his kazak songs. Durduraz from the Almaty concert is fire, a folk rock song. No high notes. And Kieli Meken us another folk rock song in similar vein.
Dimash was raised in the traditional Kazakh way. When he was born as the first son, his education and rearing now fell under the responsibility of his paternal grandparents. It is the called "the return of the son". When Dimash started to be known outside Kazakhstan, he would refer to his grandparents as "Mama and Papa" and that would confuse people, unaware of this traditional upbringing. Dimash was brought up in the extended family tradition where all live under the same roof. The loss of his "papa" will be a trying time for Dimash and his family. I must add that Dimash's features are very similar to his adored "papa" .
This song is not about the uprising. It’s about WWI when the tzar of Russia took thousands of Kazakhs to make trenches in the front. The uprising was a consequence of that draft among other things. Someone mention in the chat that this song is not a Jazz song. Well, Dimash was an invited guest to this festival in Tokyo in 2020 and 2021. Both years where during the pandemia restrictions and he sent a video made in his studio. In 2021 he sang Ikanaide. Thank you for your reaction. Take care. ❤️🙏☮️
One of my favourite of him ever! ❤️😭 We Dears love Dimash so much because not only he's the most amazing, versatile, gut moving, mind blowing tear jerker Artist/singer I've ever had the pleasure of hearing.. but he's also a very very beautiful human being! Humble, kind, respectful, hard working, educated (on many things not only music), the cutest, loving, family oriented and grounded and I could go on and on and any dear here could happily back me up ❤️👌🏻 He's just a person that deserves to be loved and respected and supported and we are all his extended family ❤️❤️❤️ I mean come on he calls us Dears, his dears❤️ and he's just as dear to us ❤️
Those were some of the best comments I've heard about that song and performance,, and as an obsessed fan of Dimash for six years I have seen virtually every youtube reactor's response to it. I will join in with the praise to which you refer simply by saying that all of the most important music of my music-obsessed life became far less important to me once I discovered Dimash. These days it's all Dimash, all the time.
Nice review. I wonder after four years why I am mesmerised by Dimash to the extent I need my fix of him every day. And like you, my interest in all other Singers has had be relegated to the back burner. I almost feel guilty that my loyalty towards other great Singers including many opera stars of today and the past has lessened in favour of Dimash - that is the impact as both a singer and a wonderful human being has impacted on me. I am so moved by him that learning from others that one must hear him live to appreciate even more, that means I have to sacrifice a few things to get to Kuala Lumpur in ten days time to experience just that. Yes, I have my ticket!
I hear you. I didn't discover Dimash until 2019 and no way can I go one day without hearing his voice. I'm almost 75 and have heard many great singers and music. Absolutely nothing comes close to this young man's artistry or musicianship. Many of his songs do not have a wide range of vocals but are absolutely perfectly sung in a way no one else can sing them.
Greetings from Uruguay 🇺🇾! About your research: that's exactly what Dimash says Samaltau is the hardest song for him to sing. Due to the strong load of meaning and sadness this story conveys for him being a kasakh himself. Thank you!!
I hope one day you can experience one of his concerts. There is an amazing atmosphere of love that permeates the entire concert venue. Dimash repeatedly states and shows his love for his Dears from the stage, while his Dears are sending waves of love to him. I know it sounds weird, but it is palpable and you can feel it. Many people actually have a sense of "loss" or emptiness after one of his concerts, and I think it's because being in the midst of thousands of people with such love in their hearts is a rare thing. I know this sounds crazy and if I hadn't ever experienced it I would doubt it. There is a reason we fly all over the world to see him!
Thoughts and prayers go out to the Quadibergen family for the passing of Grandfather of Dimash today. A long and blessed life was afforded to him by The Almighty and he will be missed greatly by our darling Dimash. 😢 This beautiful song has a poignant story which is captured exquisitely by the video The Story Behind Samaltau, an animation of the story with Dimash singing. Well worth watching. Samaltau means loosely mountain breeze or cool breeze from the mountain. Kazakhstan has a long and very troubled history, it is the second youngest country and they are now celebrating their place of resting after so many many years of wandering and displacement. Dimash always does his country proud, he is a true blessing to his people. Greatly loved by us all whether Kazakh or not. UKDear 💜
Sad to see that his Grandfather has passed 😢 Dimash sings this on stage also .I is beautifully done Samaltau on stage 👏 😍 Thank you great reaction 💞from 🇦🇺 🇬🇧 Australia .
This is one of Dimash's most beautiful performances. The instrumentation is out of this world: you can hear the sound of wolves, wind, rain, and more. Dimash's intensity as he goes deep into the music, and then the powerful vocals that tell a story of pain, of the young man who is forced to go fight in a foreign war, leaving his family behind, wondering if he will ever return. Dimash is so much more than vocal acrobatics, and this song shows him at his best. We learned today that his beloved grandfather, the man who raised him and who first saw his musical talent, has passed away. We give thanks to a life well lived, and pray for comfort for the family.
It’s a folk song. Young Khazak men were conscripted, or forced to go fight in the war. I feel the anguish of being forced to leave his homeland, and his aging parents. No vocal gymnastics needed to feel the deep sorrow. ❤
It's not one of his most flashy songs but it;s one of my favorites. It has so much (his)tory to it and you can actually hear the echoing mountains. I feel like sometimes I put the bar too high. For HIM this is "easy" but that does NOT make it an easy song. Such a underrated gem of a song! Your reaction is beautiful, thank you!
We absolutely love him and it has a great deal to do with the respect and love he pours back onto the fans. He never fails to show his gratitude. He never takes credit for his talent but gives credit to God, his family , teachers and fans. He speaks very warmly to fans who find him at airports, hotels etc, never ever having a big head. He sends the tons of flowers he receives to local nursing homes, hospitals and has donated large sums of his earnings from concerts at times to help people of his country with various tragedies. I believe I read at one time sending 50 tons of food to a region where there was an explosion? He does so much it is hard to keep it all straight and one of the most impressive things he has ever done is to quit The Worlds Best here in America because they pitted him against two young children. He stepped down from the show when he could have easily won the million dollar prize but instead held true to his upbringing and culture that says adults do not compete against children but encourage them. Money is not his goal. He genuinely wants to make people happy with his music.
The way I see Dimash, it appears that he is on a mission to spread his country to the world the best way he can. In an interview when he was around 9 or 10 years old, he said he wanted to grow up as a good citizen and to have his country be proud of him. In 2023, there was a Central Asian-China Summit held in China where Dimash was the representative of Kazakhstan who performed during the gala night attended by the presidents of the six participating countries. The first song he sang was in Chinese entitled "Thousands of Miles, a Common Dreams." I could just imagine how proud the Kazakh president was while sitting in the audience at that time hearing Dimash singing in Chinese language.
We as Dears are indeed very proud of him not only because how much he loves his roots, but also the way he does it, with respect, promoting peace among countries. He is such an unique artist with a mission in his path (as he has said it many times in various interviews). I know many casual listeners think "hey, he is all about the range, the high notes, the acrobatics", but once you dig a little deeper you can tell what is his main goal in music. In his concert most of his songs are more "normal" and centered on the emotion that lies on each of them, and the meaning they have for him and his audience. Thank you for your reaction! :)
Ahoj.
Dimash has led me to understand Kazakhstan culture and history and it’s beautiful landscape. I love this song and when he premiered it during Covid I felt his pain. Thank you for reacting to Dimash.
He actually sang this song live at the Silk Road Festival closing ceremony in 2019 ... the video is on his DQ channel, he's wearing a suit but same instrumentals are there
When you first start listening to Dimash, it's all about the range, the high and low notes and the ease with which he can move from one to the other. But the more you listen, the more you realize it's more about the emotion he puts into the music and how he gets lost in it.
The "music store" part are instruments that Dears have given him. He usually gets a folk instrument as a gift from every country he has a concert in. I don't know how, but Dears coordinate with his father to give Dimash special gifts like those. You can see that studio in videos his little brother is putting out now. 😊
Thank you for this information re: the gifts given by Dears. I knew the instruments were dear to his heart but since they were given by Dears, I'm sure they're closer to his ❤️!
🇨🇱❤🇰🇿 Thanks for commenting how great Dimash is as a Kazakh man. He is not only a very good singer, but also an exceptional human being. Of course we love him and his land. Greetings from the south of the world, hugs from Chile 🇨🇱❤
THANKS for your reactions to Dimash!!!!……. Samale Mountain is a sad song about a young soldier. He sing about what will happen with his family when He goes away about Mountain and Sea. This a tresure song of kazakhstan and Dimash sing this like no one. The musical instrument is from Kazajistán and name KOBIZ of two strings, Using folk arrangements like “SYBYZGI”, beautiful Kazakh wind instrument. This live performance with his instrumentalists friends is a firm favourite of mine. His live singing is impeccable like always, even sitting cross legged on a piano stool. Streamed from his home, his music room it wen down a storm at his first appearance at the Tokio Jazz Festival although he was disappointed when it was canceled he was overjoyed when they decided to livestream it. Greetings from a Mexican Dear!......❤️🇲🇽🇰🇿
Amazing performance. This song is so powerful. Like wolves in a forest or in the steppe. This song paints a painful picture of many refugees that have being forced to leave their motherland and miss it terribly.
Dimash is loved and admired not only for his amazing voice and stunning musicianship; but also for his love of family/country/culture/fans. Add to that his integrity; his passion for world peace; his respect for all people; his generosity; his truly exceptional humility. What’s not to love?
Yeah, Roscoe, absolutely you are right. He has a heart of gold, he has an angelic soul, he has an angelic voice - he is just an ANGEL, I'm really sure. That's why every single person love him from the first time they watched any of his songs. I love Dimash so so much!!!
From 2018 to the present day, since I accidentally discovered Dimash on the you tube channel , and that in the middle of an annual beach vacation, I listen to him every single day! I pray for him, I am grateful to him for enriching my life! Never before could I even imagine that because of a performer, I would immediately go to a concert anywhere in the world, and that's what I did, as well as many others whom Dimash attracted with his being and existence! From over 70 different countries around the world, people of all ages come to his concerts wherever he performs! Amazing isn't it? I am happy that he is a contemporary of our time, I feel that he is special, I am grateful, very grateful! Thank you for this wonderful reaction, I enjoy watching with you. Greetings from Germany.
Me encanta tus reaccionesa Dimash.
My heart bleeds for the parents of the young soldier. I hope he had siblings who took care of his aging parents in case he was not able to return home from the war. By the way, I like Dimash's home studio.
Magnificient is the perfect word. I love this song despite bringing me to tears every time. 😭😭😭 With history like this, one can easily see why Dimash is so passionate about promoting Kazakhstan to ensure its survival and success. Roscoe, your curiosity and honest reactions are such a blessing. 🥰 Love and hugs from a Canadian Dear🇨🇦
Young bro, I cannot listen to Dimash alone because it’s way too soul stirring and so I need good sensitised talented people like you to listen with! God bless! We need no language to feel the emotion it’s incredible
This livestream was from Dimash studio in Beijiing 2020, there's another from his Kazakh studio which he included in his digital concert in 2021, slightly different with a foggy special effect but still awesome ... then there's the live version from the closing ceremony of the Silk Road festival which he performed in 2019 , but he's wearing a suit in this one, which in my opinion ( important as it is, right? ) doesn't fit with the song but is still mighty .. they're all worth a reaction down the track sts ... .love your reactions Roscoe, thanks for this btw ... this tells the story of when, during ww1 in1916, young men from Kazakh villages were forced to join Russian army and marched far away from home to fight, leaving behind family, ageing parents etc and not knowing if they would ever return btw, Kazakhstan's Independence day is Dec16 --- 1991
This is exactly what makes Dimash so special at first you think it's only abt extraordinary vocal skills but when you dig into his works you start to realize what a great artist he is that he's not a show off who wants to show his crazy range all the time he is one of those few artists who keeps on spreading important messages through his music & embracing his culture proudly which is kind of rare to see these days
We Dears are definitely proud of Dimash, and because he gives out positivity with some peace and love mixed in, we respond back in kind. Of course, occasionally, there are overzealous fans out there. And I always say that if someone who claims to be a fan is spouting off negative remarks, they are not a true Dear.
Many thanks for your truly emotional reactions to our Dimash 🙏🏻 I've seen all of them and I really appreciate it. And thanks for your warm words... Dears are always will stay with Dimash. Support him, respect and love is endless to him ❤️ especially today 😔🤲🏻
Thank you. This song is so beautiful and Dimash's heartfelt vocals are personal and moving. This song takes you to another time and place. It transports you. Incredible.
This is a beautiful song, Dimash's voice is a delight to the ears, the instruments are incredible, they sound so good !!!! In short, a work of art wherever you look at it. Dimash is a musical genius that has not been seen in centuries, worthy of praise and admiration, not to mention him as a person, there we have another long list to list.
Most of Dimash's sings are not about extreme vocals, but his rich and beautiful tone of voice, his technique and skills like vibrato, breathiness, whisper and many others are always used to tell the story and to deliver the message and emotions of each song. For me, it doesn't natter at all what range his songs have - even when he stays just in his midrange, they are not less beautiful and moving. His Kazakh songs, which are mostly not about range at all, are among my favorites, as well as many other similar songs. Range is just one of the many vocal tools Dimash uses, but by far not the only one and not everywhere. All his songs are worth a reaction, and especially his native songs.
He said in an interview that his high notes are not to show off, they're a way of releasing his emotions, I wish I could hit high notes like that without sounding like a deranged 'fishwife' when I'm upset
Dimash had a very traditional Kazakh upbringing. He was raised by his paternal grandparents as the 1st grandchild. That contributed a lot to his humble character & deep love for his family and country. Thank you❤
What I find fascinating is that you reacted to a song that is very relevant to Dimash's circumstances on the day you reacted. Thank you for the respect you showed to the song and Dimash.
Today we dears , are sad along with Dimash, for the loss of his beloved grandfather 😢 I found out through Dimash, that I love Kazakh songs, they have a sad and beautiful melody at the same time. Thank you for your kind words about Dimash. Greetings from Brazil.☺️ 🥰🇧🇷
Very proud Dimash Dear here!! I’m so happy you and the rest of couch crew got to see this one. Incredibly rich, emotional song.. one of my favorite Dimash performances. If you liked this one, I recommend watching Daididau or Qaragym-Ai. The latter is a Beautiful beautiful song Dimash dance as a tribute to his music professor and mentor who passed away. Also, I know that feeling of “okay I’ve seen all the things, he can’t surprise me anymore. I’ve heard it all.” But I can confidently say, as a long time fan, he still surprises me with every performance lol. Enjoy and God bless! Rest in peace to Dimash’s grandfather ❤ Praying for comfort and peace for him and his family 🙏
Our hearts go out to Dimash and his family as we learn that Grandfather Kudaibergen Aitbayev has passed away at the age of 82. May Love and Peace comfort you all in this difficult time. ❤️

Whenever you react to Dimash singing in his native Kazakh, you will understand this mysterious being a little bit more.

UKDear 💜
I was shocked when I read the news. We are saddened at the loss of this great Kazakh patriot and poppa to Dimash.
Sad to see that his Grandfather has passed 😢 Dimash sings this on stage also .I is beautifully done Samaltau on stage 👏 😍 Thank you great reaction 💞from 🇦🇺 🇬🇧 Australia .
A huge loss for Dimash and his whole family😢May his soul rest in peace.🙏 Our hearts are with Dimash and his family today💔...
Great reaction! Dimash's Kazakh songs are very special and you can hear it as he sings.
💕💕💕👍👍👍💕💕💕👍👍👍. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!! LOVE DIMASH.💕💕💕👍👍👍💕💕💕
Ahoj.
Dimash is great I wash the videos every day .
This is story telling on another level. Thank you for reacting to this beautiful song.
Love Dimash from IRAN. Thanks for this reaction
Dimash - Карагым-ай (Qaragym ai)
Ones Dimash mentioned that this song is not technically difficult but … extremely emotionally difficult and it is a very important song for him! 👏🙌🙏♥️
Hi Mané! 👋 ♥️
❤
Involuntar iti curg lacrimile ! 😅😅😅 Mulțumesc!
Dimash is a gift from the Universe to the current humanity. We need this a this time in history ❤!!!
Dimash's grandfather has died today. He was father for Dimash. RIP Kudaibergen -ata
Oh no, RIP.
😢
Allah rəhmət eləsin...

Mistrzostwo świata, utworów z innej galaktyki, niebiański głos przeszywający ciało i duszę, byłam w kosmosie ❤❤❤❤❤
Me encanta tus reaccionesa Dimash.
Dimash is so impressive in so many ways. Thanks for the reaction.
MY CONDOLENCES TO DIMASH AND HIS FAMILY FOR THE LOSS OF GRANDFATHER KUDAIBERGEN.VERY SAD.WE ARE WITH YOU DIMASH.WE LOVE YOU.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I just love this version ❤Who do you know that sings like that sitting cross legged???RIP to his grandfather🩶🙏
Yes, it makes sense. Thank you for deep understanding and your reaction 🙏
Dimash is first and foremost a story teller
🇧🇷🤝🇰🇿✊
My heart bleeds for the parents of the young soldier. I hope he had siblings who took care of his aging parents in case he was not able to return home from the war.
By the way, I like Dimash's home studio.
Magnificient is the perfect word. I love this song despite bringing me to tears every time. 😭😭😭 With history like this, one can easily see why Dimash is so passionate about promoting Kazakhstan to ensure its survival and success. Roscoe, your curiosity and honest reactions are such a blessing. 🥰 Love and hugs from a Canadian Dear🇨🇦
💜
I am totally in love with this song. Is beautiful.
💐💐❤️❤️🇨🇱🇨🇱
Dimash has lots of songs that don't use his full range. Not all songs need it. ❤
Young bro, I cannot listen to Dimash alone because it’s way too soul stirring and so I need good sensitised talented people like you to listen with! God bless! We need no language to feel the emotion it’s incredible
This livestream was from Dimash studio in Beijiing 2020, there's another from his Kazakh studio which he included in his digital concert in 2021, slightly different with a foggy special effect but still awesome ... then there's the live version from the closing ceremony of the Silk Road festival which he performed in 2019 , but he's wearing a suit in this one, which in my opinion ( important as it is, right? ) doesn't fit with the song but is still mighty .. they're all worth a reaction down the track sts ... .love your reactions Roscoe, thanks for this
btw ... this tells the story of when, during ww1 in1916, young men from Kazakh villages were forced to join Russian army and marched far away from home to fight, leaving behind family, ageing parents etc and not knowing if they would ever return
btw, Kazakhstan's Independence day is Dec16 --- 1991
This is one of my favourite Dimash performances ❤
This song breaks my heart. Dimash is incredible in his presentation. 😢
Thank you for the beautiful reaction
Thanks for watching!
Many thanks for your truly emotional reactions to our Dimash 🙏🏻 I've seen all of them and I really appreciate it. And thanks for your warm words... Dears are always will stay with Dimash. Support him, respect and love is endless to him ❤️ especially today 😔🤲🏻
Dimash is an amazing human being and deserved the loved from all of us.
Dears from Malaysia🇲🇾🇲🇾🇲🇾
Dimash is a story teller of the ages ❤
Dimash fantastic ❤
He is a very amazing singer and the way he hits the notes of every song he sings are AMAZING. He is making his culture very proud
So Earthy. So Real. Absolutely supurb observations Roscoe
Well said.
Favourite!
One of my fave from him ❤
🤴🇰🇿🌟👏👏👏👏Bravo, Bravo, DIMASH, hermosa canción.
Saludos 🖖 desde Chile 🇨🇱
O mükemmel bir insan❤
Dimash had a very traditional Kazakh upbringing. He was raised by his paternal grandparents as the 1st grandchild. That contributed a lot to his humble character & deep love for his family and country. Thank you❤
What I find fascinating is that you reacted to a song that is very relevant to Dimash's circumstances on the day you reacted. Thank you for the respect you showed to the song and Dimash.
The Universe can be a very interesting place sometimes. 😊 ☀️
Not in the music store but the studio of his. 👍
Thank you for your wonderful reaction. As always your comments are very insightful and interesting. Love watching your reactions
Rest in peace to Dimash’s grandfather ❤ Praying for comfort and peace for him and his family 🙏
don't forget Durdaraz...
