This was the first time Dimash had performed back in Kazakhstan since The Singer 2017 had concluded in China, where 600 MILLION fell in love with him, so this was a "WELCOME HOME" sort of celebration. 30,000--50,000 were expected; 150,00 showed up and paralyzed the city. Oh--and that was a VERIFIED D-8------OFF the piano. (And the faint second, almost identical whistle a few moments later was EXACTLY that--a WHISTLE from the crowd.😉) By the way, he wrote this when he was just 19. I heard Dimash for the first time three days ago. I’m still in a state of shock. Since then I’ve watched many many reaction videos as well as him singing many songs. I started with SOS and I was speechless for hours because of its incredulity. I kept listening to more songs he sang. It didn’t matter which song. I concluded that I didn’t have a favorite. They were all my favorite each in their own right. Dimash became the song and the song became Dimash, perfection! Thanks for doing this video. Your reaction was gold.

Dimash wrote this song when he was 19 years old and the lyrics were written by Oral Baissengir, of course in Kazakh.
This performance was in Kazakhstan (Gakku TV is a Kazakh television channel. I heard there were about 150,000 spectators and the city center had to be completely closed). There he hit his highest note so far, his famous D8. You don't need to look for this note on the piano, the keys weren't enough for that anymore. Some say the tone isn't exactly pleasing to the ear, but it doesn't make it any less spectacular. Incidentally, Dimash himself said that this was not actually intended. He probably wanted to sing his "normal" G#7, but when he did, no sound came out of his throat. When he started again, the C8 came and then the D8.
A 5 second accident with vibrato😂. Only Dimash can do this. And then he continues as nothing has happened.
Some joke that he actually sang a higher note, but realized that we earthlings can’t hear notes that high, so he “only” sang the D8😉

This is the only version with the D8. He missed the note before and corrected himself with a much unexpected high whistle. You'll see nothing comes out when he shakes his mic the 2nd time. He didn't plan on that note. 😆
I like to think that he didn't miss the note before but it was just so high that the human ear did not pick it up so he quickly went down a notch...my theory and I am sticking to it. LOL one day the mother ship will return.

From a hardcore Dear, this is a sentimental favorite for many. Why? Dimash wrote it as a teen. It's about the day someone first saw/met the person they love. It's one of several with audience participation. There's a "tea kettle note."
For me? The song itself? Eh. Plain compared to any other of his works. Not a sing-along person. The dolphin note? To non-musicians, that's some kind of highlight. It's amazing, but I'll take any of his other show-off notes (Across Endless Dimensions or Diva Dance, especially that sung with Li Yugang--a cross-cultural pairing Not to be missed!).
