Its a high time when Govt of Ind should give free treatment or at least make 70-80% treatment free for PCOS and PCOD!!!!
Government hospital is free for everything
It's time we make period pads tax free. Or give period subsidy for rural girls that's how we'll increase awareness and how to overcome the issue women go through painfully every month
@@Kimchi_ true true very true!!!
I see no point in your comment since government hospitals give free treatment for anything
Moreover, I think this is like any other medical condition, ham medical problems ke beech bhed bhaav nahi kar sakte
Ab aap keh rahe ho pcod ka treatment me paise de, koi aur kahega meri medical issue me bhi Dena padega jab pcod ke liye de rahe hai
So, it's not about giving money, it's about helping anyone who can't afford a medical treatment
To rural jagah me ladkiyo ko inke treatments me help milni chaiye, aur sirf ladkiyo ko hi nhi, rural area me kisi ko bhi milna chahiye jo medical treatment afford nhi kar paa raha
Why we doctors don't have family to feed ? You want everything free ? Why were u even born ? If I can too sit in OPD with pcos with 200s patients u can too get medicines not in free.. !!!
I have PCOS and it has almost ruined my life. I get behind at work, which forces me to stay up to finish work at odd hours. The lack of sleep gives me constant headaches. I don't get periods for two months then I bleed heavily for an entire month. The birth control only lessens the flow but the bleeding doesn't stop. My entire body aches, face and stomach are swollen all the time. Sometimes I feel so hungry I can eat a carpet.
Hey I have the same problem as yours....I didn't get my periods for like 4 months...I have recently started taking dashmularishtra (it's an ayurvedic medicine) it's only been 1 month and I got my periods on time like they were 4 days late but it improved on this level and earlier I used to cry due to extreme pain but this time I didn't feel any...so you can consult a doctor and then take this medicine....it might help you😊
Try homeopathy it really works for pcos
Same i have started my bc pills recently n it made my depression worse as well
@@shreya9846i was searching for this comment… actually yes we can cure pcos or any uterus related problems through ayurvedic medicines along with a proper diet … i also had my periods so much painful everytime from my childhood and period always comes so fast in like ten days or twelve days after the last period ends ie., 20 days cycle .. but now my cycle improved to 26-28 days regular and also the pain is very less ..
Actually you know why many women in india has pcos and other problems is because there is a common mistake we do is that sleeping late and eating fast food too much and also eating at night (a doctor who told me this ) So if we avoid these simple things then we can see women free from pcos …NOTHING IS INCURABLE..
i hope my point reaches you girls…
hey dear try cotton lily pads for heavy flow.I have made them specially for women who have heavy flow
You discussed this openly....
Thank you ....if you would have told us preventive measures also we will be grateful as well 😢 which worked for you
Extreme painful period is enough to ruin your entire life...😢😢😢 Going through from last 22years...😢

The normal period alone is already too much for others, what more if you have irregular, bad and heavy periods.
I have crazy period cramps and back ache for the first two days! But for a lot of my friends its not a big deal and some suffer much more than me! Its differs from person to person! Difficult to make men understand and even some women too! Lets hang in there knowing we are not alone- much love
Don't worry... I understand how you feel and what you undergo through your periods because I gone thru that shit too....!!!
Hats off to Shruthi for talking so candidly and openly about PCOS. We need more celebs like her
Thanks for sharing dear Shruti Hassan. This reminds me, I'm not alone in this pain game. ❤
Feel really bad for what she is going through. She has won my respect totally with this. I think she is a great role model for other celebrities and young girls growing up 🙏👏.
I’m suffering from painful periods or dysmenorrhea since I started my periods at 13 yrs. I can’t go to school, teachers don’t believe in my pain. This become worse and worse as I grow old. By 20, my pain was so bad that I can’t even stand straight and go to washroom by myself, keeps on vomitting for hours and pop up 5-6 pills everyday. First 4 days of my periods were very very excruciating even after that it doesn’t end and I used to have cramps in my uterus 20 days in a month, I used to bind heat bag around my lower abdomen tightly with my dupatta. Recently I got diagnosed with endometriosis at 23, my boyfriend helped me a lot during flare up days by massaging and heating my uterus for hours till my cramps eases even in the midnight
Did u get any medication? It sounds really painful. I hope 🙏 ur pain will be lessened.more prayers for u😢😊
What was the Diagnostic test and procedure,
As I'm having same condition but my usg ,mri reports are normal so they said you don’t have any pathology.
Any women can go for Ayurvedic treatment and best medicine is ASHOKARISHTAM which is more effective meditation I do have issues in the beginning when I was 14yrs and 1 year I took it. Then I doesn't face any issues till now even after my 2 deliveries and my periods are regular and normal pain .
Having fibroids results in extremely painful periods too...I suffered for 15 years....Have regular ultra sound scan for abdomen helps a lot.....consult a gynic ASAP.....My career , self-confidence suffered due to this....only solution is healthy lifestyle, avoid junk foods
This is very brave of you Shruti. Thank you for sharing your story without cringing or make a scene of it. Instead, talk about it as is.
Oh’ that feeling of not being alone🤍
Much needed! I have always admired her for the incredible talent she is and today the idea of pulling it off with endometriosis is giving me goosebumps 🤍 you go girl 🍀🔥
Well i have not been diagnosed with anything as such but i seriously cannot explain how tough it is for some women.
I got my first when i was 9, it affected my entire life. My school attendance remained between 50-60% , immunity dropped, severe random allergies developed, hairfall, memory issues. I only want to say that just don't compare yourself with someone and dont mock somebody's suffering.
Its good that you do not suffer and i am happy for you and i wish you never ever suffer like us.
Well the cramps have definitely decreased after i entered 20s , its much manageable now. Health is same low low.
She is super smart and very brave
I have the same situation and it's continuing. It's hell. Salute to her for doing so much in life while having to go through this. It distrupts the day to day life.
thank god someone is strong enough to share. I am so so thanks
Thanks to her for sharing
I dont have pcos or pcod but for me periods is that painfull for 1st two days its like i feel like m living with swell body with lots of mood swings, lots of back stomach leg pains. As a IT professional i have to take leave every month with lots of taunt from managers coz i dont have other options and cant explain much to others, that for some females how painfull it is.
The level of pain tolerance is different for every woman some have high tolerance and some don't. We are all different from each other. I can understand ur situation as it's the same for me too. I sometimes feel it would be so good to have periods breaks normalised.
Try doing yoga regularly.....and see the result.
Same with me too
@@peacefulsoul1087 Couldn't agree more, yoga is a miracle not only for periods but for everything as it improves mental health too along with physical health. It increases serotonin which helps to manage anxiety, depression etc like mental issues.
No nothin helps except for painkillers and heating pad. Yoga doesn’t do shit, dont tell anyone with pain that yoga will fix it its false information. Its form of exercise thats it. I hate it when people tell others who are in physical pain to actually move the body when they are saying they r in pain, its physical pain and we are bed bound or chair bound. Dont give your yoga theories , makes it sound like its not real.
Finallllyyyyy found someone exactly like me. And I think I will really worry about you too, every month when I go through it..!! More strength to you..!!

I also feel exactly same since my first periods … that pain is unexplainable… 😞
Same thing happens to me…. My periods started when I was 13 untill now it’s an every month battle…most of the time I have to put salines in hospital during first day of my periods…. Because of severe stomach pain , back pain , and worst bloating, ill only eat card rice during first 3 days.My parents won’t leave me alone at home while I’m in my periods… n the worst part it’s interfering my work life… I can’t go to office … during my first 2 days which made my sick leaves disappear… even I explained whole thing to my manager he was like … don’t care .. I need to quiet my job because I can’t face things …. In office… I did used hormonal pills n the side effects are worst …. Now only I’ll take supportive meds… I feel bad embarrassed about my self n period pains… it messed up my work life
I used to work pt retail when i was in school so it was fine i could easily take the days off. But i have been holding off applying for jobs now that i have graduated bcz i need the week off every month n ik no full time job would allow me to.

I wasn't expecting a video from Shruti Hassan talking about that. It should be so difficult to be on screen with all these conditions 🥹 I also live with these conditions as a PhD student, and things can be a hassle sometime and touch every aspects of our life. Thanks for sharing your story and I really feel proud and admirative! Love from France for all women going through that ❤
Thank you Shruthi for sharing the ordeals with reason and no remedy for this. One's own mother who does not have pcos is not ready to understand this and blames us as if we are making a lame excuse about painful period and boasts about her physical fittness during her periods.
I got diagnosed with endometriosis when i was 12 y/o and its been a year i am dealing with PCOS and I am 19.

Thank you for talking about this. Its high time we get period leave. For the past 15 yrs, I have been suffering from extreme period pain especially the first 2 days. I cannot go to office but my heads don't try to understand the pain we go through, also they feel like a social taboo explaining to elderly bosses😢 every month i take pain killers since there's no other option to deal with

Thanks a lot Shruti for sharing your story...
It's quite similar for me too... Ever since I started getting my periods, the first two days of my period every month are very painful. Stomach ache makes me not sleep well, eat, everything is difficult. And even if there is an exam on the day of the period, then toh it gets stressful alot...🙂
I can feel you man it's way to bad I cry way too much on my first day , I puke , I faint, it's like a battle between you and your body
Till my second baby(normal delivery?). I dont feel I have periods itself. After second baby birth on 16th day, I started bleeding. 10 mins 1 pad will be over. Then they removed left over placenta with full anesthesia. After that my periods is struggle for me. Always heavy. Getting fever etc. I m IT professional. I cant say anyone these reason to take off. I always wish it comes on weekend.
Kudos for coming out openly with problems women have with periods 👏👏👏
I suffered from endometriosis and heavy periods, till 45, finally removed uterus. It's worse feeling not only physically but mentally too
More power to you !
OMG.. she is exactly speaking about what my life has been about.. having suffered with excruciating pain due to PCOS and Endometriosis all my life.. only a person going thru it knows how worst it is. Appreciate you Shruti for explaining to the world.. hope u heal .. lots of love
God bless you sister ❤

I cn relate to this . I have had congestive dysmennorhea all along , recently i was told its endometriosis. I literally get panicky wen i am in my 2nd phase of my cycle thinking of d pain i will hv to experience. But its inevitable. My sis had grade 4endometriosis too n i hv seen her wriggling dwn with pain so badly so much so tht she used to inject analgesics herself. Luckily now she is free of tht post hysterectomy.
I am also suffering from dysmenorrhea, my first day is like hell I have to bear a lot of unbearable pain with vomiting which makes it much more complicated. My mom suggested me to walk in the morning and at night as it balances hormones and reduces pain I also need to drink hot water in the whole month so that I can help myself to suffer a less painful periods. You all should start morning walk and eat healthy. So it's my request to simply try this for a month and you will feel better on your periods
Nice to know you are honest.
I have endometriosis and pcos and many other things🙂.It started last year when I was in 12th grade,I had lost so much things and depressed.I was almost 4-5 months in bed because it hurts freaking bad whenever I was walking 🙂.Not only in on periods but in off periods.
I have endometerioma cyst on left ovary i gained alot of weight after pregnancy and had such bad and heavy periods. After surgery and i have reduced caffeine i feel better.
Diet plays such a big part anyone reading this comment do kick out some bad habits to see change
We need more women to speak up on "women's issues" instead of presuming they'll come across as sympathy-seekers or victims. I was diagnosed with PCOS at 12 (and it has gotten worse ever since), and I can vouch for every word Shruti has uttered - the bloating, the fainting, the hirsutism, and to add to it, the hormonal acne. Glad to see influential women being vocal about the condition, so no teen growing up feels less than a woman like I did.
Oo God she is very strong

Yes thank you for sharing your experience.it may help many ,and wont be a taboo topic anymore 👍👍
Thanks for sharing it is not your story alone most of us suffer from the same problem in every month.
I just cant intake any food for whole day. I just vomit so much that when nothing is left in the stomach the digestive liquids also comes out.. diarrhea starts and to add the bad cramps. I just get so tired that i automatically get sleep after 4 to 5 hrs of all above activities.
You are very relatable
I also have pcos it is not that bad I get bad stomache.I try my best to maintain my weight exercise, yoga are regular part of my life.I control my eating habits and once I gain weight my periods goes missing.Taking too much stress also affects my periods.Dr.Akhila fom banglore was my saviour I am thankful I found her on insta at a young age otherwise I would have been lost.My gynaec only gave me pills and didn't explain anything.
Yes ....thanx for sharing...
idk if have pcos or not but i do feel severe pain on starting 2 days ,paining like from stomach to back everything that i cant even stand straight , with constant feeling of swelling in the stomach
I am also suffering from endometriosis and working in th IT field. Even for me it is diffi cult to ask the manager for leave or explain the pain behind endo
Great sruti garu ❤
Thank you so much for openly speaking about this. Honestly, when we share with others about what we are going through or what it is to actually have PCOS/PCOD, they are just like "oh, thats so common these days..most of them have it ..its nothing serious and * blah**blah*".... But what people dont realise is..eventhough its commonly found in women in recent days ..it is still a damn freaking condition..it is such a *** pain and depressing
Thank you so much Shruti for sharing about your personal struggles with PCOS , so that we are able to better understand this condition and create more awareness 💓
Really brut no other news left

Yes, it happens..we just can cope up with it. We can just try to shift our focus to bear the pain or have to manage other symptoms somehow. It's annoying.

Thankyou for speaking about painful periods and endometriosis . its killer disease for women, suffering, being ignored by doctors, failing careers, life and their own selves. Please talk more and often about it.
Having PCOS is really very hard to live with and the problems we faces are just unbearable . Like Why you have a problem if i have hair on my face and literally everywhere in my body !!
My battle with PCOD is still going on, sudden mood swings depression, irregular periods, weight gain(that too without eating much😢) , and it's been 10 years ,but doctors diagnosed Pcos only before 2 years ..if anyone know any treatment for these kindly let me know !
Im 25 year's old dealing with pcos . I was very skinny earlier then suddenly i started gaining weight dealing with many other health issues .my personal life is quite hell can't explain but i wanted to be healthier mantally, emotionally , physically but my surroundings is pretty bad whenever i get my periods i have this terrible pain in my all over body i can't tell . For me its feels like I'm in the middle of the battlefield... Till college i was able to manage my leaves but while I'm doing a govt job with limited leave and physical demanding job its very difficult to manage and where no one is there to understand what you are going through... Feels like its better if i die right now.
Having endometriosis and working in corporates is a nightmare too as nobody understands why I m asking for period leaves. Even the female colleagues say stuff like we don’t feel anything much then why do u take sick leave on periods.1st few days of periods are extremely painful and makes me feel so fatigued and exhausted 😢 and unfortunately there in no cure for these chronic conditions yet.
I feel you. I suffer from endometriosis as well and I had to undergo one surgery for it.
I have very bad period cramps on first and second day. It's like I can't breathe and the mood swings are soooooo bad. I feel like crying soo bad. And the fact that m surrounded with men only. My dad and other people. But no female as my maa passed away. So I have no one to tell or even discuss what I go through. I hope all girls out there get all love and support during these days.
Yes she was right ,i was facing painful periods and dehydration from my 6th standard from school, cant imagine how much pain it will causes even after my first delivery i am now 33age still i have heavy pain cant cure with medication pain killer somtimes my periods days upto 7 days cant do home work cant focus on job nobody will understand even some ladies too , because some.of them dont have painful periods some have back pain itslef , last week i did my d and c then i found out i have fibroids still on medication but still painful
With all that said she had achieved a lot 😮❤ mad respect Shruthi. You are like a soul sister to me 🥰 I went through this for almost 13 years until I gave birth. My periods got less painful and regular. But for some women it gets worse after child birth. Being a girl itself needs courage 💪
Everyone around me used to say get married amd have a child that will cure this which is crazy thing to say to a young girl who had lot of dreams. But pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum and breastfeeding is not easy too. Life is too complicated for us 😭😭
Regular period with heavy bleeding and uncontrollable pain😢 I take leave from my job every month 2nd days of my menstrual cycle😢
Love and prayers Shruti , I have PCos and endometriosis so horrible periods .. I can understand ..

Dear girls
I went through painful periods for years had to sit in the bathroom for whole day having bad crumps and bloating but then i tried sarvangasan for 3 minutes everyday on empty stomach and now i dont feel any pain or very minor pain and dont i have to take any medicine anymore
People with endometriosis or fibroids can have worst periods. Endometriosis often goes undiagnosed .
Very important to know , if it's hereditary, secondly our lifestyle, stress, sleep, regulating these things nothing is impossible to cure, just exercise, eat right, sleep well, may be a yr or two it might take but it will improve your health ❤, right protein, right fibre, probiotic, less carbs. Pranayam, yoga, strength training, cardio.
Ladies go thru so much physical challenges. 😢

To be honest I also have bad period pains when I'm at my teenage... Now when I get older the pain reduce and the period regulations get back on track... 😂😂its all because our hormones... It's normal for all ladies... anyway Applause for Shruti Hassan for bringing this topic to media... 👍🙌
Same I have pcos..I have a same problem but I have 2 kids naturally conceived and normal delivery..starting days I'm also take a medicines for monthly cycles ..but later I stoped and do physical works regularly and eat healthy and forget my issues
.now I'm also having pcos and irregular period but it's possible getting pregnant..it's not major issue for prgnt ..thinking makes stress and its major disease..
I felt every word of her cause I go through the same every month some months even after my periods are over I get water retention in my stomach and deal with symptoms on daily basis. Why me? I used to ask and cry but now I know that I m not alone and if she is fighting I should complain less and fight it out. Maybe I will be ok someday.
My love for shruthi Hassan that she spoke about pcos directly
Think about getting a total hysterectomy. ( Removal of ovaries is involved). However, it really helps a lot and is life changing....as far as quality of life is concerned.
Having pcos since 13 years old..now 33 ...alot of suffering until now...doctors said it common sick..but actually it is not.. alot of painfull
True.. Painful periods is worse.. I dont have PCOS..But 1st two days i always have stomach pain.. When i visited Gynecologist she said pain is completely normal and it will be like dat.. In my career of 2yrs every single month i used to take 2 days leave.. Even though if pain is little fine, i never had mindset to sit and work.. Just want to lay in bed all day.. But sad thing is even Women Leads or Managers say it is not big deal you have to adjust it.. 😢
It's not easy to deal with PCOS
