The history of Sukeban and Japanese girl gangs in the 70s/80s is so interesting, and I recommend looking it up!! They’d wear these long uniform skirts as a stand against the sexualization of high school girls/women in general, and when they left high school, they’d still wear their uniform sometimes but alter it with a cropped top and anarchist symbolisms!!! Looooove that era.
The way they smile and playfully toy with each other somehow makes me envious of the friendship these characters have. It's cute. But the way they whip out their weapons, beat up the other girls and then strike a pose as a team looks badass. I'm just getting a wave of emotions from these little clips and it's amplified by the music. It's hard to look away and stop listening. Makes me long for what they have. To look that happy like everything is going to be okay, with friends, and having a fun lifestyle. I don't feel sad about it, though. It's a time I was never in. I was born in 2001. An American. I've had my friend group who did stupid stuff together. But I'm just grateful that there's archives for me to gawk at so I can experience it the way they did decades ago in my favorite decade. The 80s.
I'm experiencing nostalgia for something i never experienced, and an era I wasn't even born in... What is this emotion called? EDIT 4/22/20 : It's either saudade or anemoia. Thanks y'all!
@@pupsuki7816 im portuguese and the word saudade at least in portuguese is something you miss like " I miss my friends of school " in portuguese is, eu sinto saudade dos amigos da escola , an feeling of missing something you used to do or see, and a feeling of nostalgia when you think about a thing (of course you have to presence that in the past, you do have to experience the past to feel saudade). you cannot feel saudade as something you never see or lived, understand? Btw idk if he said that word in portuguese, if Yes, that is not The word* youre looking for (and sorry for my english)
I'm Brazilian, and here Japanese series like Jaspion, Jiraya, CyberCop among other Japanese series, until today, are a huge success. But unfortunately, this is the first time I've seen anything from Sukeban Deka. But even so, it aroused a gigantic nostalgia. I don't know if I would have liked this show, but one thing I'm sure of: If I had seen this in my childhood or adolescence, I would have completely fallen in love with Yuma Kazama (Yuma Nakamura) haha just beautiful.
Japanese are very good in bringing up feelings of nostalgia, but I guess it is also because they put so much passion and rhythm into what they do. I'ver never seen it anywhere else in the world, like those old animes showing some introvert girl strolling through a city full of buisy people and city lights from her perspective, and it reflects our longing for this kind of city cruisin', the feeling to go out and be in the kind of city like in those animes. They give you pleasures you already have experienced, but more fantastical than it could be in real life. Like in a lucid dream, you experience it but you're not fully aware and having the experience when you wake up. It is difficult to reach, yet somehow you do.
Nobody cant tell me that old times werent good, I wasnt even alive during any of these since I was born in 98, but I get unexplained nostalgy watching these. I miss those times technically
Same. It's probably the 80's songs I listened to as a kid on my dad's cassette player and the 80's action Asian films I used to watch. I miss those times :(
Brings back my memories of 80s, the fashion and those musics,,,ahh i can remember my old self as an japanese high schooler and my friend circle aka team.... ☺️☺️those old memories....i can never forget,,, though im just 15 but still can remember all in my imaginary
Yeah that aswell as that Asian people seem to always look younger then they are and the crazy thing is is that these "kids" could at the shooting of this video easily be in their late twenties
I dont know what this movie is, but the camera work is so dynamic. Like, this is something that Quentin Tarantino would draw inspirations from. Especially the crash zoom at 1:54
Quentin Tarantino Sukeban Deka movie when QUENTIN TARANTINO SUKEBAN DEKA MOVIE WHEN fuck this once upon a time in hollywood bullshit, I want 80s Japanese middle school girls fighting with Yo-Yos
Not sure what the style of filming the japanese do for stuff like this but damnit it looks good. The way the colors and contrast look so cinematic but still bright and colorful, its hard to describe but its so beautiful and unique
This is shot on 16mm film. Although i can't confirm it, the general rule is that all Toei's TV production started in mid 70s including tokusatsu show use 16mm film. I would say that they shot this using Fuji stock as Fuji is much more cheaper than Kodak back then and Fuji stock is really popular for TV production. The reason you have hard time to describe because the aesthetics of the film itself, I guess. Low contrast, muted color and less clarity than Video Recorder in 80s.
It's the way we used to make movies up until 2010 when digital took over the market. Film has a whole variation of colors that digital just cant replicate.
It's all in your mind. These are actors and they will usually have better features then average. They are mongoloid which is the most abundant race on the planet.
for everyone saying or wondering why it's sounds like "Out of Time" by The Weeknd, they actually used this song as a sample, it is "Midnight Pretenders" by Tomoko Aran, it's a City Pop
The video of "Sukeban-Deka lll Shōjyo Ninpōchō Denki" (スケバン刑事III 少女忍法帖伝奇), which is mainly used in this video, was posted on RUclips, so I will introduce some of them.I translated Japanese sentences into English on the translation site, so I think there are some parts that are difficult to understand, I'm sorry. Sukeban-Deka lll is a work depicting the activities of the "Kazama-Sanshimai" (風間三姉妹), consisting of the eldest daughter "Yuka Kazama" (風間 結花), the second daughter "Yuma Kazama" (風間 由真), and the third daughter "Yui Kazama" (風間 唯). Sanshimai means three sisters in English. Kazama-Sanshimai is a descendant of a "Ninja" (忍者) clan called "Fūma" (風魔), and its emblem, "Bonji" (梵字), emerges on their body. Yuka's Bonji is "Tara" (タラ), which emerges on her left upper arm. Yuma's Bonji is "Ta" (タ), which emerges on her right thigh. Yui's Bonji is "Kān" (カーン), which emerges on her forehead. Bonji was originally made in ancient India and is used in Japan to mean the "Mikkyō" (密教) gods. If you translate Mikkyo into English, it becomes esoteric Buddhism. Mikkyō is deeply ingrained in Japanese culture and traditions. Kān's Bonji means Fudō-Myōō (不動明王). Fudō-Myōō is one of the Mikkyō gods and is considered to be the incarnation of the great Mikkyō god "Dainichi-Nyorai (大日如来)". Fudō-Myōō symbolizes the unwavering guardian. Tara's Bonji means "Kongara-Dōji" (矜羯羅童子). Kongara-Dōji is one of the Mikkyō gods and one of the attendants of the Fudō-Myōō."Kongara-Dōji symbolizes the mercy of Fudō-Myōō. Buddhist gods and one of the attendants of the Buddhist god Fudō-Myōō. Ta's Bonji means "Seitaka-Dōji" (制多迦童子). Seitaka-Dōji is one of the Mikkyō gods and one of the attendants of the Fudō-Myōō. Seitaka-Dōji symbolizes the wrath of Fudō-Myōō. I translated Japanese sentences into English on the translation site, so I think there are some parts that are difficult to understand, I'm sorry. This video uses the work of the TV drama "Sukeban-Deka" (スケバン刑事) series produced in the 1980s based on the manga work Sukeban-Deka of "Shinji Wada" (和田 慎二)" created in Japan in 1975. Sukeban means the leader of a gang group of female students in English, and has a side that is kind to the weak.Deka means detective in English. The characters, settings, contents, etc. are very different between the manga work Sukeban-Deka and the TV drama Sukeban-Deka series. In addition, the connection between the TV drama Sukeban-Deka series has some vague parts, and it seems that they can be viewed as independent works. Sukeban-Deka may be a work that will be forgotten even in Japan, so I hope that foreigners will know about it.It's a long sentence, but I'll give you some rough information about TV drama Sukeban-Deka series. TV drama Sukeban-Deka series began in 1985, and in the 1980s three TV drama series and two films were produced. In 1988, a omnibus "Sukeban-Deka SAGA" (スケバン刑事SAGA) that looked back on the story along with the theme song and insert song was broadcast. In addition, from November 1987 to February 1988, a work called "Syōjyo-Commando IZUMI" (少女コマンドーIZUMI) was broadcast, which appropriated the project of "Sukeban-Deka Ⅳ" (スケバン刑事Ⅳ), which was not produced for various reasons. The leading and supporting actresses are femal idols from the 1980s, who were not yet popular in Japan at the time. They became popular through TV drama Sukeban-Deka series. Sukeban-Deka is a special detective who appoints female students to investigate inside the school, which is difficult for police to investigate, and it is a secret to other students and teachers that they are Sukeban-Deka.Sukeban-Deka fights with heavy alloy yō-yōs as weapons, and the yō-yōs have secret. The secret is that when you open the yō-yō lid, the Japanese police emblem "Sakura no Daimon" (桜の代紋) appears.Sukeban-Deka shows Sakura no Daimon to the bad guys, revealing that she is a member of the police organization.Sukeban-Deka arrests a bad guys who understands who she is. Sukeban-Deka is a female dark hero born in Japan. Although not shown in this video, the main character of the first season TV drama "Sukeban-Deka", which aired in Japan from April to October 1985, is "Saki Asamiya." (麻宮 サキ). A total of 24 episodes of the 30-minute main story and a 30-minute making video were broadcast after the final episode. At the time of the rebroadcast a year later, a 30-minute omnibus video was broadcast after episode 17. One day, Saki, who was at the Juvenile Training School, was invited by a person named "Kurayami-Shirē" (暗闇指令), who belongs to an organization called "Kurayami-Kikan" (暗闇機関), to become a Sukeban-Deka.This is to make Saki, who has excellent ability, a Sukeban-Deka to investigate crimes that occur inside the schools where police intervention is difficult.Kurayami means darkness in English, and Shirē means command in English.Kurayami-Kikan is a secret organization that is more powerful than the police and is commanded by a person called Krayami-Shirē. Kurayami-Shirē promises to suspend the release from the juvenile training school and the death penalty of Saki's mother "Natsu Asamiya" (麻宮 ナツ) indefinitely, provided that Saki becomes Sukeban-deka.Natsu was arrested for murder when Saki was a child, and was sentenced to death in court. Saki agreed to become a Sukeban-Deka and carry out his mission only once, and received a heavy alloy yo-yo as a weapon from Kurayami-Kikan's skillful agent, "Kyōichirō Jin" (神 恭一郎).Jin assists Saki in various situations.Heavy alloy yō-yōs have the power to crush iron as well. Saki succeeds in the mission, but Natsu death sentence was not suspended indefinitely. Kurayami-Shirē liked Saki's abilities and didn't want to let go, so he decided to take Saki's mother hostage and let Saki work as a Sukeban-Deka. Saki returns to the high school named "Takanoha-Gakuen" (鷹ノ羽学園) in Tōkyō, where she attended, and works as a Sukeban-Deka.Saki was the best Sukeban in Takanoha-Gakuen, but after handing it over to a rival group Sukeban, she ostensibly retired. Saki is informed by Jin of the command of Kurayami-Shirē.Saki fights bad guys, believing that one day Natsu will be released. The actress who played Saki is "Yuki Saitō" (斉藤由貴). The second season of Sukeban Deka's TV drama is "Sukeban-Deka ll Shōjyo Tekkamen Densetsu" (スケバン刑事ll 少女鉄仮面伝説), which aired in Japan from November 1985 to October 1986.If you translate the title into English, it will be "Legend of a Girl Wearing an Iron Mask". The 30-minute main story was 42 episodes in total, and the episode 29 broadcasted a 30-minute omnibus video. The movie version was screened under the title of "Sukeban-Deka" (スケバン刑事) in February 1987 after the TV drama version was broadcast. As a special guest, characters from the third season of the drama version are appearing. The movie version is produced as a later story of the TV drama version, but there are some parts that do not match the final episode of the TV drama version. You may watch it as a parallel world work, but that's my guess. "Yōko Godai" (五代 陽子) is the main character of Sukeban-Deka ll, and she doesn't know if she is her real name.Yoko is a Sukeban from "Tosa" (土佐), Shikoku (四国), Japan, and was called "Sukeban-Tekkamen" (スケバン鉄仮面) by Sukebans all over Shikoku. The Sukebans were very afraid of Yōko. Shikoku is the smallest of the four main islands that form the Japanese archipelago.Tosa is a rural port town in Shikoku.Tekkamen means iron mask in English. Yōko has lived with Yōko's mother "Michiko Godai" (五代 道子) in the Tosa since she was a child without taking off Tekkamen. Michiko says that is because Yōko will be killed if she doesn't wear a Tekkamen all the time.On her deathbed, Michiko told Yōko that Yōko's ordeal would begin when she took off Tekkamen. All that was left of Yōko was Michiko's locket pendant, and none of her family was left. The rocket pendant plays a melody when the lid is opened. Yōko wanted to break Tekkamen, but she couldn't because it was made of superalloy and was very sturdy and locked with an electronic lock. "Nishiwaki" (西脇), a skillful agent of Kurayami-Kikan, found that such Yōko's circumstances may have been influenced by a person called "Kamakura no Rōjin" (鎌倉の老人).Nishwaki assists Yōko in various situations. After hearing the story from Nishiwaki, Kurayami-Shirē becomes interested in Yōko and orders him to bring her. One day, Yōko was caught by Kurayami-Kikan and brought to Tōkyō.Kurayami-Shirē tested Yōko's abilities to find out if Yōko was a suitable successor to the missing Saki Asamiya. Yōko fights against the agents of Kurayami-kikan who brought her and defeats them.Yōko is unlocked by Nishiwaki, and sees her face grown up after taking off Tekkamen for the first time. Kurayami-Shirē invites Yōko to become a Sukeban-Deka.The reason is that the security of schools all over Japan has become abnormally bad due to the influence of huge power, so we needed the power of Yōko with high ability. By the time Yōko arrived, Kurayami-Shirē tested a number of strong Sukebans, but none passed. Yōko declines the invitation of Kurayami-Shirē, and Kurayami-Shirē promises to free Yōko if she can defeat 10 trained Kurayami-Kikan agents.Yōko defeats 10 agents, but Kurayami-Shirē breaks his promise and orders a large number of agents armed with firearms to capture Yōko.Yōko receives a heavy alloy yō-yō from Nishiwaki and attempts to escape while defeating numerous agents. Yōko, who has defeated many Kurayami-Kikan agents, returns to the place where Kurayami-Shirē is without escaping and agrees to become Sukeban-Deka.The reason is that by becoming a Sukeban-Deka and fighting evil, you can know the person who killed Yōko's father and put Tekkamen on Yōko. And Yōko inherits the heavy alloy yō-yō and takes the name of "Nidaime Sukeban-Deka Asamiya Saki" (2代目スケバン刑事 麻宮サキ).Nidaime means the second generation in English, and Asamiya saki is the first Sukeban-Deka Saki Asamiya. That's why Yōko calls herself Saki Asamiya, and most people know her name as Saki Asamiya.Yōko uses it as a heavy alloy yō-yō weapon and fights using her guerrilla tactics.Yōko speaks in the Tosa dialect. After completing the first mission, Yōko will transfer to "Ryōzan-Kōkō" (梁山高校) in Tōkyō and work as a Sukeban-Deka.Yōko is informed by Nishiwaki of the command from Kurayami-Shirē.Nishiwaki is ostensibly a high school teacher at Ryōzan-Kōkō and Yōko's homeroom teacher. Yōko and her two companions will unravel the mystery of Tekkamen and Yōko's real name and birth while fighting against the evil secret society Seirōkai (青狼会), which is made up of students. The actress who played Yōko is Yōko Minamino (南野 陽子). She sings the first insert song "Sayonara no Memai" (さよならのめまい), the second theme song "Kanashimi Monument" (悲しみモニュメント), the third theme song "Kaze no Madrigal" (風のマドリガル), and movie version theme song "Rakuen no Door" (楽園のDoor). 【Sayonara no Memai】 ・This is a video that Yokō Minamino was singing on a TV show at the time. ruclips.net/video/8-20wRXMJFI/видео.html 【Kanashimi Monument】 ・This is the ending video of the story of Sukeban-Deka ll. www.dailymotion.com/video/x1wubch ・This is a video that Yokō Minamino was singing on a TV show at the time. ruclips.net/video/VdeuKS7LbF8/видео.html 【Kaze no Madrigal】 ・This is the ending video of the story of Sukeban-Deka ll. www.dailymotion.com/video/x1wube6 ・This is a video that Yokō Minamino was singing on a TV show at the time. ruclips.net/video/Hz3tPE8bXWQ/видео.html 【Rakuen no Door】 ・This is a video that Yokō Minamino was singing on a TV show at the time. ruclips.net/video/EUCe2xMwOJQ/видео.html ruclips.net/video/mIY8uJfyK-c/видео.html "Yukino Yajima" (矢島 雪乃) is the daughter of the president of a conglomerate company and a master of ancient martial arts. The third season of Sukevandeka's TV drama is "Sukeban-Deka III Shōjyo Ninpōchō Denki" (スケバン刑事lll 少女忍法帖伝奇), which aired in Japan from November 1986 to October 1987.If you translate the title into English, it will be "Sukeban-Deka III The Strange Story of a Ninja Girl". The 30-minute main story was 42 episodes in total, and the episode 31 broadcasted a 30-minute omnibus video. After episode 21, a 90-minute special episode was broadcast. The movie version was screened under the title of "Sukeban-Deka Kazama-Sanshimai no Gyakushū" (スケバン刑事 風間三姉妹の逆襲) in February 1988 after the TV drama version was broadcast. The literal translation of the title in English is "Sukeban-Deka Counterattack of the Kazama Three Sisters" The movie version has very different settings from the TV drama version, so you may want to watch it as a parallel world work. "Kazama-Sanshimai" (風間三姉妹) who are active in Sukeban-Deka lll.San-Shimai means three sisters in English. The eldest daughter of the Kazama Sanshimai is "Yuka Kazama" (風間 結花), the second daughter is "Yuma Kazama" (風間 由真), and the third daughter is "Yui Kazama" (風間 唯). Yuka and Yuma are high school Sukebans they attend, called "Seiryū-Gakuen" (星流学園) in Tōkyō, and are leaders in a male and female gang group.Yuka has the title of "Uraban" (裏番 or ウラ番) and is in the greatest position, so she does not actively work in the group.Yuma has the title of "Sōban" (総番) and is the second greatest position, so she leads the group and is actively active. One day, Yuka and Yuma are told by their father "Kotarō Kazama" (風間 小太郎) that Yui is coming from "Kyūshū" (九州) to Tōkyō. Kyūshū is a region of southern Japan.Yui grew up in the countryside of "Miyazaki" (宮崎), Kyushu.Miyazaki is a tropical country in Kyushu. Yui is a high school sukeban from Miyazaki, who transfers to Seiryū-Gakuen, where Yuka and Yuma attend, and becomes a member of their group.Yuka and Yuma don't know if Yui is their real sister. Kazama-Sanshimai is a descendant of a Ninja (忍者) clan called "Fūma" (風魔), and its emblem, "Bonji" (梵字), emerges on their body. Yuka's Bonji is Tara (タラ), which emerges on her left upper arm. Yuma's Bonji is Ta (タ), which emerges on her right thigh. Yui's Bonji is Kān (カーン), which emerges on her forehead. Bonji was originally made in ancient India and is used in Japan to mean the Buddhist god. Khān's Bonji means Fudō-Myōō (不動明王). Fudō-Myōō is one of the Buddhist gods and is considered to be the incarnation of the great Buddhist god "Dainichi-Nyorai (大日如来)". Tara's Bonji means "Kongara-Dōji" (矜羯羅童子). Kongara-Dōji is one of the Buddhist gods and one of the attendants of the Buddhist god Fudō-Myōō. Ta's Bonji means "Seitaka-Dōji" (制多迦童子). Seitaka-Dōji is one of the Buddhist gods and one of the attendants of the Buddhist god Fudō-Myōō. When Bonji emerged on Kazama-Sanshimai body, a star called "Kageboshi" (影星 or 陰星), which appeared only once in 180 years, began to shine, and an evil Ninja clan called "Kage" (影 or 陰) began to work.Kazama-Sanshimai fights against the Kage when Kurayami-Shirē command is given by "Leia Kido" (城戸 礼亜), a "Kunoichi" (くノ一) belonging to Fūma and an agent of Kurayami-Kikan.Kunoichi means female ninja in English. Yui is the main character of Sukeban-Deka lll, and she calls herself a very famous Sukeban in Kyūshū, but no one knows if that is true. One day, Yui was suddenly told by "Taian-Osyō" (帯庵和尚) to go to Tōkyō.The reason is to let Yui meet Yui's father and Yui's sisters.Yui was an abandoned child, so I was surprised that he had a father and sisters.Yui was abandoned in the temple, so she was picked up by the chief priest Taian-Osyō and raised. For Yui, Tian is a grandfather and an important family member. Then Taian-Osyō gave Yui a suit of armor to wear under her clothes, on her forearms and on her forehead. The real reason is that Taian was an old acquaintance of Kurayami- Shirē and was asked to send Yui to Tōkyō.This is because something terrifying that could destroy Japan and the world has begun to move, and the power of Yui was absolutely necessary to counter it. On his way to Tōkyō, Yui is unconsciously given a heavy alloy yō-yō by Leia.Yui arrives in Tōkyō and meets Yuka and Yuma, and the three are involved in the incident.Kazama-Sanshimai is tested by "Hannya" (般若), a skillful agent of Kurayami-Kikan and a member of Fūma's "Onigumi" (鬼組).Fūma has various units, and Onigumi is one of them.Hannya assists Kazama Sansimai in various situations. Was Kill La Kill a parody of this and only Japanese viewers understood?? They're all wearing Senketsu uniforms and have thread-based powers Edit: It was, and the show/manga was called Sukeban Deka
sadly ironic considering they wore sukeban (modified school uniforms to have longer skirts) to protest how sexualized their uniforms were becoming and kill la kill was all about disrobing and objectifying a schoolgirl until she accepted it
lyrics: Every time I wish monopolize your love I'm a traveler who doesn't tell you where to be taken to Every time I wish That you would be mine I want all of you
@Kitsune Inko well, when I cry I'm usually redfaced and covered with snot, but I sure do wish I could shed a silent tear and turn away in the comfort of a soft pink futon... Doesn't have anything to do with Japanese people crying, though😅
@MUTO ! Can agree Why it wasn't simple: -war -women not having enough equality -parents beating their children and saying that is teaching them and etc
you mean where we are still very young? very new to the world that all we had to do is play sleep eat and watch tv. where school is not that big deal. and we are playing in the dirt with friends. where 1 oclock is windy yet sunny and good to sleep. and when 3 oclock came. mom will make juice and buy bread for us to eat snacks.. as a kid like us back then theres no problem we see. unlike now.. We have to wake early in the morning to do chores. do homework. pass at deadline and we are shackled by responsibility.. yeah. i miss those days where it was just as simple as this series.
This is a really wonderful edit. That movie looks fantastic and really awesome. Like seriously, the way the girls are posing everytime they attack, it's so cool and like they're in an dramatic magical girl anime! 💝
It's Sukeban Deka, specifically the third season of the TV show. It was a manga that got a live action TV show, anime show and movies, and live action movies.
@@RandomAccessDreams it was not the third season; it was a mix of clips from all seasons (and possibly the two original movies of that era, I didn't pay close attention to that). Edit: I take it back, it's a mix of clips from seasons 2 & 3. Didn't see season 1 in there.
YO SABÍA. Me puse a ver Sukeban Deka, y tenía la gran sensación que reconocía la estética/temática de algún vídeo de City Pop. Y por fin lo volví a encontrar.
Just started The Weekend’s new album and “out of time” uses samples from this song - it felt like a weird deja vu bc I had this one on repeat just the other day (◐‿◑)

Japan in the 80’s and early 90’s was the best place to be in the world. Was a very happy time. And successful too. The 80’s has a special touch unlike the other decades. I do like the 90’s too. But 80’s music, style, art, that retro futuristic theme is just timeless.

You're not wrong, but Sukeban Deka was nothing remotely close to that aspect of the girl gang culture.
Saiga ... Well yeah, I know. I’m speaking on Sukeban culture in general, which inspired Sukeban Deka.
Many people don't know this but this was the main inspiration behind Kill la Kill
Very interesting, thank you for the knowledge, friend.
Sukeban stereotypes were cool, I dont like it as much as the average delinquent stereotypes but they were fun.
The 80s.
I have the same feeling

It's because it's actual film. Digital makes things look too clean and fake.
It's the way we used to make movies up until 2010 when digital took over the market.
Film has a whole variation of colors that digital just cant replicate.
Japanese female fights are soo good, the moves are so elegant

for everyone saying or wondering why it's sounds like "Out of Time" by The Weeknd, they actually used this song as a sample, it is "Midnight Pretenders" by Tomoko Aran, it's a City Pop

Kazama-Sanshimai were born destined to fight an evil ninja clan called "Kage" (影 or 陰).

I posted the rough Sukeban series information in the reply column. It's a long sentence, but I'd be happy if you could read it.
Thank you for reading to the end.
you are the best man
I translated Japanese sentences into English on the translation site, so I think there are some parts that are difficult to understand, I'm sorry.
She sings the theme song "Siroi Honō" (白い炎).

After passing the test, Kazama-Sanshimai meets Kurayami-Shirē, and Yui inherits the heavy alloy yō-yō and takes the name of "San-Daime Sukeban-Deka Asamiya Saki".(3代目スケバン刑事 麻宮サキ)San-daime means the third generation in English. However, Yui doesn't often call herself Saki Asamiya, so most people don't know that her other name is Saki Asamiya.
Armed with a heavy alloy yō-yō, Yui fights with Ninjutsū (忍術) taught by Fūma and othe Ninja clan.
Yui speaks in the Miyazaki dialect.Yui has great respect for Yuka and Yuma, who are always helpful and dependable.
The actress who played Yui Kazama is "Yui Asaka" (浅香 唯).
She sings the second theme song "Star" (STAR), the third theme song"Hitomi ni STORM" (瞳にSTORM), the fourth theme song "Niji no Dreamer" (虹のDreamer) and movie version theme song"Believe Again" (Believe Again).

Edit: It was, and the show/manga was called Sukeban Deka
indeed! kenny lauderdale

Yes kill la kill was inspired by sukeban deka!
Actually you are correct
sadly ironic considering they wore sukeban (modified school uniforms to have longer skirts) to protest how sexualized their uniforms were becoming and kill la kill was all about disrobing and objectifying a schoolgirl until she accepted it
Kill la kill is too a parody of magical girls
I'm just obsessed with this video, I've been watching it every day for at least a month 🙈

you mean where we are still very young? very new to the world that all we had to do is play sleep eat and watch tv. where school is not that big deal. and we are playing in the dirt with friends. where 1 oclock is windy yet sunny and good to sleep.
and when 3 oclock came. mom will make juice and buy bread for us to eat snacks.. as a kid like us back then theres no problem we see.
unlike now.. We have to wake early in the morning to do chores. do homework. pass at deadline and we are shackled by responsibility..
yeah. i miss those days where it was just as simple as this series.
