    Those thread cutters, yes, been around for a while. My mum had one and I think I have it here among my stash! Love your videos. 🎄🇦🇺

      Thank you! Yes! I think they were around even before 9/11, but I think they became very popular then. I love having a second. They are a great little tool.

    I'm enjoying this series even if every day makes me feel better about not getting the box. Sorry...just how I feel. Love your puppy. I have a MinPin. She's been feeling lonely these last few days because I've been sewing so much. I'm only a few feet from her but if I'm not holding her, I may as well be a million miles away. Have a good day.

      Awww! MinPins are adorable! Daisy gets the same way when I am sewing for long periods. As for the box, I completely understand! No reason to be sorry. ❤️❤️❤️

    Oh my goodness Daisy! She said “mom! It’s play time not work time!”
    I have the same tool for key fobs! I liked the way they were sewn together as well!

      Daisy is crazy! I don’t know how we are going to get through this puppy stage. Lol. We love her but she is a busy dog! Love the key fob pliers. They are a game changer!

    I’m really enjoying your commentaries on the MSQC box! I agree -about the triangles on the diagonal - they use that approach in several videos, but yes, the danger of stretch is a constant. It’s a fast technique and easy, so I assume they use it as an encouragement to new or less exacting quilters.

    • @SewtheDistance
      @SewtheDistance  2 года назад

      I think so, too. Unfortunately I think it sets new quilters up for failure, although I don’t think that’s the intent at all. Thank you so much for your kind words!

      Thank you, thank you, thank you! We so appreciate all the prayers and support. She goes for daily radiation treatments and after today's, she will only have four left. Of course, then we wait to see if it worked, but at least she will be recovering and feeling better. Thanks so much!

    Why are flying geese so hard? I really like the template from open gate quilts for flying geese! I can finally get them right with that one!

    Really enjoying this series. Appreciate your honesty and optimism. Still praying for your mom. I had a grand dog named daisy. She was a sweetie, too!

      Thank you so much for everything! Daisy is a scrappy and mouthy nine month old, but is mostly a sweetheart. Lol! We joke that her name doesn’t suit her. 😀

    I enjoy your videos. I have also been keeping a running value amount and mine is inline with your estimates. Some other vloggers I watch underestimate the values. Also prayers to your Mom, may she have a speedy recovery.

    I really like this gift. I have wanted to get one but hadn't yet so yay this worked out for me. The unscheduled visit with Daisy was so cute, she is a sweetheart :) I haven't stitched up the mini quilt yet but now plan to put a narrow strip around the outside of the block to help with the stretch factor (I like the look of a little border better anyway) Thank you for mentioning that as I wouldn't have thought of it until it was finished. Am Praying for Your mom & family as I know how hard that is. Thank You for the updates too. Be extra kind to yourself through this and take extra good care of yourself :)

      Thank you so much! It’s been a particularly rough day today and your words remember me to lighten up some. Maybe takeout will have to be dinner tonight. 😊 Glad I helped, also. It is a cute fast project but it can be tricky. I think a border would be fabulous on this and would help with stretch! Thanks for watching, the prayers, and the reminder to be kind to myself. ❤️

    I am a new subscriber and saw this video. Eleanor Burns has a great video on flying geese on her Quilt in a Day channel. It is good for the small size...

    • @SewtheDistance
      @SewtheDistance  2 года назад

      LOVE Eleanor! I have watched this one and still can't get it. LOL! I think I have every flying "goose" tool, ruler, foundations, whatever! I just can't seem to master them. Maybe it should be my New Year's Resolution?

  • @cjtheisen5124

    I wonder why they had you make the triangle squares that way. Why not just cut out the fabric with the template and sew the fabric together to make a square? Seems a goofy way to do it. Love and good wishes to your mom and family.

    • @SewtheDistance
      @SewtheDistance  2 года назад

      Exactly! I know what you mean! All of these shapes do not need templates, in my opinion. I must have temporarily lost my mind when I ordered the mini advent quilt templates. I’m not sure what I thought they would be! Thank you so much for the well wishes for my mom and family. ❤️

    The crimping tool comes with a buttload of key fob metals.

    Those key fobs are really nice. Is the tool especially designed for that or is it one from the hardware shop? What is it called? The clover thread cutter is good. I use it to cut the threads when I am chain sewing as well as hand sewing somewhere.

    • @SewtheDistance
      @SewtheDistance  2 года назад

      The pliers are called Key Fob Pliers. I think I got mine from Amazon. It’s a great tool! If you can’t get one, you can add batting to regular pliers. You just need a cushion so the pliers don’t dent the hardware.

    • @suestutzle2779
      @suestutzle2779 2 года назад +1

      @@SewtheDistance Thanks Kris. I'll check them out. If I can't get some hubby has heaps of different pliers so I will raid his tool box. Batting would be necessary anyway with his tools, he keeps them in good repair but they have been used near grease....need I say more. haha..

    The picture on the thread cutter package shows that you can also put it in a spool of thread. This would be great by the machine for cutting chain piecing apart. A great gift today. I agree with you on your pricing. Another one I follow is really low on the pricing. I think we are getting a good value on this box. I think it’s even better than last year’s box. I just prayed for your mom again and will continue as the Lord brings her to my mind.

      Thank you so much for the prayers! Things are getting particularly rough, but the Good Lord will carry us through. As for the thread cutter, I never noticed that! I am going to have to try that! Thank you. ❤️❤️❤️
