Some of the best meals I had in Johor Bahru were in this video! My question is, who would eat the fried durian with me? And how many would you get? Connect with me other places! The fried durian makes me salivate sooo bad. The crunch and creaminess is just too tempting! I guess will have to get 3 to feel satisfied. Hahaha. The curry puff too!
I live in KL and have never seen fried durian before, it looks like a good mix of crispiness and creaminess so yes I would eat that! I would get at least 4.
Max, the fish head curry & mee rebus are from some of the best places to eat in Malaysia - they are my favs too. Soooo delicious. And i never imagined you heading into the toddy shop. That toddy shop has been there for decades. Thanks for showing how it looks like inside. Many years ago, a lot of Indian men used to drink way too much, get drunk on toddy and caused unsightly scenes outside the shop, and sidewalks. But looks like it's cleaner now - more regular people friendly. So glad that you are eating at the right places ;)
Feels good to be doing it right this time! I had such a great time in Malaysia! I was really impressed with Johor Bahru as well! The next video I will post I also had mee rebus and it was crazy yummmmy!
Mannnn..i just love it when you poured all your Sambal Kicap on your Rojak Tauhu. That's my kind of thing. Sambal Kicap ftw! Try it with banana fritters or anything fried such as the fried sandwich sardines you had earlier and you gonna love it.
I like your friendly voice and your talking style. You seems like a very likeable person and everywhere you go, any country, you will be like and safe. But, your face becomes red after eating all those spicy curries. You really have a strong tummy to try spicy Asian dishes. 😊
Glad that you enjoyed Malaysian food. In some recipes of the sauce for Mee Rebus, the chefs put blended boiled sweet potatoes...some even added crushed "Marrie biscuits" (similar to Rich Tea biscuits) for creamy taste.
What's Love about you and your show is that you just don't care where you seat down (pavement or what have you)still manages to look so apetising and so very delicious. Keep up the great eating outdoor very autentic.♡♡♡
The fish head curry is really really good! We finished every drop of the lemaky curry sauce when we ate there 2 years ago ..yummy!😋 The curry laksa noodle at Jalan Kolam Air is very lemaky n delicious too.
Max, I find it amusing when at a restaurant, they tell you the sambal is probably too spicy for you (probably bc you are foreigner). Then, they are amazed when you eat it and love it. He does not know us Southerners. Keep up the videos.
I think if you ever get to eat yamie, or any noodles from indonesia or possibly malaysia, if they serve dry noodles with broth, you are supposed to pour the broth in the bowl and mix it well and you can add sambal or kecap, then mix it well....
Wow, everything looks so delicious! I really liked the mee rebus, fried chicken curry, fried sardine sandwich, and fried durian. I LOVE durian! Strong smell, but great taste. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to your next post.
Hello Max in Malaysia. Just lead the way I right behind you... whoa that a hot delicious food in that clay pot...hmmm. Mouth watering food. Like you said “til death do you part”. Now for dessert to cool your mouth. Fried Dorian....omg. That bowl of noodle is out of this world. Love the way you eat, just got me hungry. Great blog thank you

Nothing but love for this country❤️❤️ You picked the right country to do a 15 part series Max! Thanks for letting me join your ride bro:) Ooh weee lets go!
Awesome again man. Do you think or know if the banana or durian was fried in white bread also and if it was a batter what do you think it was made of ? Safe travels Max

that fried durian right there, i wish someday i could eat that in my grandma's province, that's looks freaking delicious...thanks for sharing this vedios Max...👍👍
Did you eat the eye out of that fish head? In some places, it gets reserved for the guest of honour at the dinner table. Cheek meat is regarded by some as being one of the best bits on a fish. Rojak is often made with fresh fruit. The mixture of the sweet and sour of the fruits combined with the spice and peanuts in the sauce is interesting. That deep-fried sardine sandwich reminds me of a place near me that does deep-fried strawberry jam sandwiches. Kind of like a deep-fried Mars Bar- all good so long as the oil hasn't been used for hours frying fish and chips! Sardines are also used as filling for the roti in roti canai. Did you try deep-fried icecream anywhere? It takes practice to get right so that the oil doesn't soak into the coating on the icecream, and you need to cook it long enough to brown the batter but not melt the icecream.
didn't so the deep fried ice cream, I was way too busy with the durain haha! let me just say, there was no fish left in that claypot after I was done with it!
