Yes me too! I loved reading about their business and how they provide financial and business training to the women harvesting their ingredients and how they also allow the women to use the by-products for their own products like candles and scented waters that they then sell in times outside of the flower harvest. I love that they are cruelty free and vegan too. And of course, most importantly, I really enjoyed the fragrances, there are both easier ones for beginners and more challenging aspects for those who want that, it's a good balance. Thanks for watching 🥰
Thank you for a full house review of Sana Jardin. I haven’t yet smelled any of their fragrances but have been keen to try Jaipur Chant as I’m a tuberose addict. Green tuberose is especially of interest to me. I’ll see if my local anthropology carries their products if not I will definitely buy their sample set. Yes, their ethos does appeal to me very much and I love the simplistic, elegant packaging.
I love SJ they were my entry into perfume mania. The only house I have two 100 ml bottles....berber blonde and sandalwood temple followed by 50 ml of tiger by her side and my favorite, vanilla nomad. Appreciate their sustainable model also. Now let me watch and see how you ranked❤
I can see how they could grab you! They are really good in comparison to the other houses that I've reviewed lately. These stand above those for me. Ooh those are interesting choices. You actually own all three of their bestsellers! 🥰
Thanks for the full house review! I’ve been wearing Jaipur Chant for years now-it’s one of my favorite bedtime scents as it doesn’t last for very long on me. I am very keen to try out the rest of the house. Like you, I adore jasmine in its full-on headiness, so I’ll start with Savage Jasmine. Sandalwood Temple sounds wonderful, too. Thanks again for the review-I’ve not heard anyone else talk about the house, which is unfortunate. Have a great weekend!
Oh fab! You know what? I've had some of these samples for 2+ years and I never had all of them to be able to make a full review, and I've only previously talked about Tiger by Her Side, so this was the perfect opportunity 😊 Jaipur Chant is lovely... I agree, I've only ever seen two people talk about more than one of these fragrances, I don't know why they don't get more exposure. I hope you enjoy the others if you try them 😊
I love Tiger by her Side, and Sandalwood Temple. I also have Vanilla Nomad but unfortunately it turns very clove-heavy on me, and reminds me of Old Spice. I think I'll like it better if I layer it with a sweeter vanilla. Thank you for talking about this house and reviewing the whole collection.
Those two are two of their most popular fragrances. It does seem those are universally loved. Vanilla Nomad is unexpected isn't it? I luckily didn't get too much clove, just the incense. Clove can be a lot can't it? I've only just begun to actually enjoy some fragrances with prominent clove. It's taken me a while... I can pick it out in seconds in food. It can be super bitter. 😝 I'd been meaning to review these for a while, but I'd only previously talked about Tiger by her side before and that was years ago... The samples had all been tried but I needed to get on and make the video. 🤦♀️ I have a few more sample sets that I need to make the video for...
@@dr.claire.perfume I like cloves in food/drink but when I smell it in perfume, it reminds me of Old Spice (which is a nice nostalgic scent, but I don't want to smell like it ;-) Looking forward to hearing you review other sample sets!
Yes, it was completely unexpected! I'd had the other samples for a while and been meaning to do a proper review. I'd only previously talked about Tiger by Her Side in a testing video I think 🤔 it was a long time ago anyway 😂
Hi Claire, the patchouli one sounds amazing but i just checked and the price in the Netherlands is kind of ridiculous. €140 for 50 ml. Too bad...would have loved to own a perfume with my daughters name
That's a shame, I noticed on their website that they only had UK and US settings, so I assume they sell through a distributor in the Netherlands at increased cost maybe... 🤔 I'm not sure. They aren't cheap here either, but with the discounts that they quite often do, they are more reasonable than that! Thanks for watching, have a lovely weekend 🥰
I loved your review of this house! I received a travel size of Celestial Patchouli from a Scentbird subscription a few months ago, and recently it has become one of my absolute favorite fragrances. I love that sweet, animalic dry down. I'm very curious to try more from this house. You really sold Vanilla Nomad and Sandalwood Temple!
The rest are worth trying for sure if you enjoy that one. I see some similarities between Celestial Patchouli and Nubian Musk actually. Celestial Patchouli really did impress me. 😊 Thanks for watching 🥰
Hi Claire! I’ve never heard of Sana Jardin. Sandalwood Temple and Tiger by Her Side sound divine. Chocolate-y patchouli, yum. I love Prada Amber and Chanel Coromandel.
I really enjoyed hearing your thoughts on this house Claire. I was vaguely aware of Sana Jardin but hadn't heard much about them. It seems they have something different to offer so I'm rather intrigued. Very tempted to get a sample of Sandalwood Temple and Venus of Verbena. Oh dear just seen they do candles too! My bank balance 😱 Have a great weekend 💖 I hope weather up north is better than down here. We're in the midst of a thunderstorm now ☹️
Ooh I can send you some Venus of Verbena! I'm afraid Sandalwood Temple is no more 😂 yeah, I think I smelt one of their candles in Anthropologie... I don't remember which one now, it was 6 months back, I remember messaging my friend as it was on sale and I know she enjoys the brand. Wow, no! The weather here has been atrocious this morning. Super heavy rain! And so cold! I hope it warms up 🤞
Oh thank you Claire, that would be lovely 😊 I have finally posted Chloe Nomade Absolu; you should get it soon 🤞 I know the weather is atrocious, the garden's looking very verdant though! Every cloud ....
Sandalwood Temple is the only one from this brand I have tried so far, and I really love it, very pretty! 🤩 I thankfully don't pick up the smokiness so far.. I have a 10ml decant so I'll be wearing this one plenty. ❤
I think it's just really likeable isn't it? I love sandalwood. The smokiness is only something I noticed super close up. I loved how it evolved but how the final impression was the sandalwood. So wearable and relaxing. 😎
Revolution sounds lovely 😊 It always amazes me how our nose picks up in some random note that’s not there 🍓for me it’s daffodils in serge LUTENS Datura Noir
Savage jasmine and revolution de la fleur sound really appealing to me but I think that they are quite expensive as a brand overall. It's a pity actually because if you don't want to smell like everybody else you can rarely find something interesting in the designer realm anymore and this kind of pushes one into niche which not anybody can afford.
It's true, designer fragrances are all very safe these days aren't they? I don't, in general, think these are too wild, but they have some fragrances that are safer and some that are less so and that stand out as unusual. The brand does have sales quite regularly, but yes the pricepoint is higher for sure. I do like that they have smaller sized options though. I guess if you're not in the UK, depending upon their distribution system, they might be more expensive than here too, I'm not sure. Have a lovely weekend 🥰
Thank you very much for this comprehensive review, Claire. I was impressed by the philosophy of the brand and acquired a discovery set last year. While like you I didn't dislike any of them, none seduced me enough to purchase a bottle. I'm going to revisit my sample set, I sprayed the patchouli and I'm liking it and no unpleasant ambroxan😉. I always look forward to your thoughts.
Yes that's exactly it! No heavy ambroxan and no heavy cashmeran. I think that's why I don't dislike any of these. Clearly some are not my preferred scent profile though. Comparing these to Penhaligon's and Charlotte Tilbury is light and day, simply because these aren't chock full of aromachemicals. Thanks for watching 🥰
Hi Claire thanks for sharing another great video. I have sniffed Sana Jardin Celestial before…and I loved it and was trying to take it away from a family member. Thanks for sharing ❤
What a wonderfully comprehensive review of a perfume house! Claire you are the best🌸I love watching your videos. Sana Jardin sounds very interesting, I will definitely order a sample pack. I also like that the price per ml in smaller bottles is not hugely different to that in the full size version.. absolutely worth a try. Thank you🌸🌸🌸
Thank you! ❤️ Yes! I absolutely hate when the small sizes are heavily inflated per ml. It really puts me off! I'm happy you enjoyed the video, I really loved sampling these, they were interesting. 🥰
I love this brand. They have a great natural quality. I have about 40 perfumes but if i ever decide to go minamalist with my fragrances this is the brand I would choose. I think Jaipur Chant, Tiger by her side, Vanilla Nomade and Incese Water would cover my needs for all occasions.
They are fab aren't they? I have had some of these samples for 2 years, but I think I've only previously spoken about Tiger By Her Side. Surprisingly, the patchouli one sounds really appealing to me! As soon as you mentioned the beer smell in Nubian Musk, my eyes scanned the notes for rose and there it was! My husband can detect rose without fail in a perfume, because he always says "I smell beer". (He can identify patchouli always as well because he smells potatoes very clearly) 🤷🏻♀️ 😅😆 Ok I think I could really enjoy Revolution, although Bain de Midi is far too "plastic sunscreen" for me.. 🤔 Oooh Incense Water! Wow I must try this one! ❤❤❤
Yes your husband's Spidey senses would be set off by Nubian Musk. To me I see a similarity in style with Si, despite them not smelling alike overall. I guess the prominent notes are quite similar... I mean more the style with tropical floral fragrances, I don't think it's that similar to either, just the same scent family. It's worth sniffing! I really like the drydown. Even Venus of Verbena was lovely. I just didn't love it as much in the drydown, the opening was stunning. I feel like some of these are really so nice that I've been probably too harsh on the rest. When. I compare these to Charlotte Tilbury 🤦♀️ wow, these are much more worth checking out! I do think you might like Incense Water, I did for sure, it was good! ☺️ Thanks for watching 🥰
@@dr.claire.perfume yes 😂 I gave mine away to a subscriber.. still though, love frequency and more s*x were the two I would have thought about it ..but none of the others 😜
I know I'm weird 😂 but I really love it 😂 They are worth checking out, when I compare these to my recent experiences of Charlotte Tilbury or Penhaligons, there's no contest for me. Thanks for watching 🥰
It's interesting how a bottle will influence how something smells. I'm not sure I could fully " smell" a fragrance in an unmarked tube? Maybe I need to try❤
The little samples have the fragrance name printed onto the glass and the little 5ml bottles have a reasonably plain label. I think a lot of the smaller niche brands have simple bottles and use labels because it's cheaper for them. I get it, but when you are trying them after designer fragrances and more mainstream niche which are usually in brightly coloured and eye catching bottles, it can seem a bit underwhelming! Thanks for watching 🥰
I haven’t tried this brand, but I like it when various sizes are offered other than just 100ml. I’m waiting for my discovery set from Puente, a fairly new Spanish fragrance house. They also have different sizes. I’m trying to avoid full bottles these days. Running out of room in the wardrobe😃🇦🇺
Yes, same!!! I agree, I love the smaller sized options, especially when they aren't ridiculously priced, but I noticed that their 10ml are rollerballs 😬 that is annoying to me... Ooh I will check Puente out, thank you for highlighting it to me 😊
@@dr.claire.perfume yes, I’m not keen on rollerballs either. I’ve also got a Day set of the new Infiniment Coty perfumes, 5x10ml and they do a Morning and an Evening set too. Perfect size for handbag or travelling. I’m hoping the Puente discovery set is good. Saw one of the scents on The Top Note with Cherie, so ordered after listening to her description of the Iris one. The owner, Eliam, sent me an email apologising for the delay due to getting sample bottles (it was only a few days delay) and when I replied saying it was no problem, he emailed again saying if I wanted to order anything after trying the samples, I was to let him know and he would give me a discount. Sorry for the length of this, but my point is, it’s the personal touch from the perfumer himself when dealing with a small independent brand which makes me want to support the brand. 😊
@@oscardog6719 yes that's the case with One Way Bridge too I think, and Wales Perfumery, Mabelle O'Rama and probably many other tiny brands. I think it's lovely. 😊
Hey Claire - excellent house overview! I have not sampled any of these, but have seen them come up from time to time and have been curious 🤔 I’ve wanted to sample Tiger by Her Side for a long time. I’m a cat lover 😻 and I remember Yve Spider Smells used to talk about it quite a bit. She has fabulous taste and I miss her vids. I have a feeling I’d like Savage Jasmine too. Hope you are having a great week 😘
Thank you ❤️ Ooh yes! Yve is a blast from the past! I don't know why the brand is not discussed more. They are nice. I guess they aren't super strong ones, that might be why. They have some easy likeable ones and some more interesting ones. I like the mix. 😊 This week is better thanks. Work is calmer. 😊 Hope you are also well. 🥰
Hi Claire, happy weekend 🌿 I enjoyed your review, thank you again. Savage Jasmine sounds gooood! So does Berber Blonde. Green soapy smells are a favorite. Interestingly (to me lol) is litsea cubea (I forget which one it's in 😬. It's in Wulong Chá, which I love, and I was theorizing it might give a rich complexity to citrus scents that can otherwise be sharp and bright. Anyways, I wonder if Sana Jardin is available in the US. After your review of Lunar Dust, I went on a hunt and was dismayed to find shipping was 12£ ($15+ usd).for the travel spray. Someday ☁🌈
I think you're in luck with this one, the website has a US version so I assume that means they sell there directly rather than through a distributor 🤔 That would make sense actually about litsea cubea, it's not a sharp citrus at all, it's warm and rounded, even oily, more like a face oil or rich cream. I think Mabelle is looking for distributors, she's recently got her brand on major UK sample site, so I bet the US will come in time. 🤞 She's only just started though and had so much success already with her two fragrance foundation award nominations. She's done well. 🥰
thanks for your overview, I haven't tried anything from this house yet. I am into sweet feminine perfumes. It seems that it would suit floral perfume lovers
I don't think Sana Jardin gets talked about much actually, it's a shame because clearly Tiger by Her Side and Sandalwood Temple are loved by the people commenting here. 🥰
I've been familiar with the scent of patchouli since I was a kid, and it took me a long time to like it! Does the UK (or just England) have any strong like cultural associations with patchouli? 'Round these parts, historically it was associated with hippies and cannabis consumers. (I.e. My parents lol) and that is still going strong somehow. Case in point... My usual dental hygienist is a white woman with dreadlocks (including a single cyber dread) , who doesn't wear normal deodorant (if any), and strongly smells of patchouli lol.
I think there is that hippie association here too with the greener or earthier stuff. I don't think there's much more than that. Patchouli leaves were used to wrap silk when it was transported to Europe so that the moths didn't eat it because they couldn't sense it through the patchouli leaves. Apparently silk smelt slightly of patchouli and made people curious as to what it was. I would love to know for sure that is true! 🥰
Really helpful descriptions. Jest thinking- which of the sandalwood Perfumes you have tried seems to be the most longlasting? I do not need a beast mode, but would like to smell the psrfume during the day. Wanted to try Sandalwood temple, but people say it lasts 4 hours...for the prize I would be disapointed.
From this range, Sandalwood Temple was by far the most long lasting on me, I can still smell at the end of the day, although not overly strong. I now have a bottle and four sprays is good for me. Depending upon what kind of sandalwood you want, if you want something milky and sweet, Piano Santal is absolutely amazing 😍 and lasts well. I also like the Milky Musk from Parle Moi and that lasts well. Hope that helps. 🥰
Hi claire thanks for sharing your thoughts about this line, lately i been eyeing for affordable niche brand, i just cant decide which one to pick mostly its a blind buy because we dont have a niche store here in our prefecture, berber blonde, incense water and venus of verbena sounds interesting 🙂💛
Some of these are very likeable. I think you'd be very safe with all three of those. 😊 It must be difficult because blind buying is quite a risk isn't it? I always try to get a sample set but those are usually very overpriced and the postage can sometimes really put me off. 🤦♀️ Thanks for watching 🥰
I don't think I've seen this brand much out here. Some of these sound interesting... I need to sample some more. Waiting on sales for July 1st to buy a few kits. 😊
Ooh what are you going for? I have a few sets to review still. I'm very slow at making videos sadly. 😂 I checked on Sana Jardin's website and they had US and UK options, so I guess they might sell through distributors in other countries. I'm not sure.
I'm with you on Jusbox! I love siren and sailors ❤️ Andrea mack I've only tried one, it was interesting! Room 1015 has been getting a lot of hype, I've not tried any from them...
I feel like Sana Jardin perfumes don’t have that artificial alcohol smell that so many other (also expensive) perfumes have. I wonder why 🤷🏼♀️ I really like all of them - except Berber Blonde maybe 😅 way too much Bergamot for me
I did really enjoy these! I'm wearing Venus of Verbena today. 😊 I think the thing that struck me about these was that none of them had heavy ambrox or ambrox derivatives that were detectable to me, those often put me off brands like PDM, Initio, BDK. Thanks for watching 🥰
Hi Claire! So many sound quite lovely 💚 I'm tired of neroli too But I used to love it! I need to ask your opinion The question is..... Is it true that a fragrance will smell different from a spray to a dabber vial? What do you think 🤔 I would think they're the same although you don't get the big blast from the sprayer. Hmmm Thanks Claire ☘️ great review I think I would like that green one best...number 3
Thank you ❤️ With regard to dabbers vs sprays, I do think they impact longevity and projection. Dabbers may appear to.last longer on skin as the fragrance is concentrated in one area. The smaller surface area may also mean there is less projection. The fragrance might progress through its stages slower too. And yes, Jaipur Chant is a lovely one 🥰
Hi Claire! Great review, I need to check out a couple now. Like my wishlist is short enough to add more 😄 I actually use Sandalwood Temple as a scent for my pillow before I go to bed 🩷 I don't see it on myself, but I love how cozy it is
I also got beery animailic from Nubian Musk, but for me it was not a nice association as the child of an alcoholic father. It reminded me of my Dad giving me one of his bear hugs in his leather jacket when he was totally inebriated. Literally felt like he was trying to squeeze me to death. No wonder I don't like it when Adam gives me a bear hug 😬 soft hugs only here 😅
I just bought the discovery set and each and every one of the scents makes me feel nauseous. They all just smell really cheap and about as subtle as being punched in the face. Just dreadful.
@@dr.claire.perfume Fragrances are indeed extremely subjective and a scent that smells divine on one skin can be unpleasant on another. My favourite scent is Tiare by Ormonde Jayne. Because I love it they have discontinued it... story of my life. 😭

@@tammyroxanne. She should probably stick to makeup 😉
Good morning Clare ☕️I’m not familiar with this house
Milky soft sandalwood sounds lovely
I don’t do well with heady Jasmine
Hello! 🤗 Yes, Sandalwood Temple is beautiful 😍 haha, I know it's just me and Gabi with the jasmine 😂
COLD BEER BREATH😂😂😂 That was hilarious! Thanks for the review. I wasn't aware of this brand.
I know I'm weird 😂 but I really love it 😂
They are worth checking out, when I compare these to my recent experiences of Charlotte Tilbury or Penhaligons, there's no contest for me. Thanks for watching 🥰
No! I don't think it's weird at all!
@@allisonbotts8532 I think it takes me to teenage years 😉
Hi claire Just love, loving is the cheapest but greatest worship.
Thanks Bilal, I hope you are well. 🙂
I really enjoy this house- I have full bottles of Sandalwood Temple and Vanilla Nomad. Thank you for review!
No problem, those are some lovely ones! 😍 Thanks for watching 🥰
Hey Claire. I love beer on the breath too! There’s just something about it 💜
Yes! And when it's cold too, yup! 👍 🤣
Mmmm … chocolate and leather. Feel like I need to try this!
Yes! ❤️ They are worth sniffing! 🥰
I haven’t tried these but they sound interesting! Thank you for the review 😊
No worries!
I am definitely a novice ❤️
A full review! I haven’t tried any from the brand oh my sandalwood temple sounds gorgeous & the name suits your description 😊
It's definitely worth a sniff! 🥰
Very interesting! I haven't heard of this house before, so it was really helpful to hear about all their offerings 😊
Thank you ❤️ yes! I enjoyed trying these!
Thank you for this ❤ we love your commitment to conscious perfume and unbiased reviews
Thank you ❤️ I really enjoyed trying these and making this review.
Someday ☁🌈
I think you're in luck with this one, the website has a US version so I assume that means they sell there directly rather than through a distributor 🤔
That would make sense actually about litsea cubea, it's not a sharp citrus at all, it's warm and rounded, even oily, more like a face oil or rich cream.
I think Mabelle is looking for distributors, she's recently got her brand on major UK sample site, so I bet the US will come in time. 🤞 She's only just started though and had so much success already with her two fragrance foundation award nominations. She's done well. 🥰
@@dr.claire.perfume Ohhhh, good news on both fragrances, then! Ty for the encouragement :D
@@PG-wz7by no worries, have a lovely Sunday 🥰
thanks for your overview, I haven't tried anything from this house yet. I am into sweet feminine perfumes. It seems that it would suit floral perfume lovers
Yes, and also people who love ambers. They do seem to have lots of warmer ones. Thanks for watching 🥰
Thank you. This was a lovely introduction and overview. I haven’t tried anything from them yet but now I’m interested and intrigued.
Thanks! They are worth a sniff 🥰
I love east meets west concept in fragrance. I would give them a try in the future. Thank you. Nubian musk sounds interesting.
Nubian Musk is really lovely! I do keep going back to that one 😊
Hi Claire, I am not familiar with this brand. Curious to learn more! Mona
I don't think Sana Jardin gets talked about much actually, it's a shame because clearly Tiger by Her Side and Sandalwood Temple are loved by the people commenting here. 🥰
Oh so excited that I know this house and have one of them so this should be interesting 👍🏻
😂I have Sandalwood Temple
Ooh Sandalwood Temple is lovely!
@@dr.claire.perfume Gosh, there are so many I want to try! Maybe Jusbox and Les Indémodables... Maybe Andrea Mack or Room 1015...
@@dr.claire.perfume And hopefully try Untamed before the end of year. Fitting to encourage a Canadian brand.
I'm with you on Jusbox! I love siren and sailors ❤️ Andrea mack I've only tried one, it was interesting! Room 1015 has been getting a lot of hype, I've not tried any from them...
Ooh yes! I love supporting the homegrown brands here too. 😊
This was a great review. I enjoyed the video
Thank you 🥰
I feel like Sana Jardin perfumes don’t have that artificial alcohol smell that so many other (also expensive) perfumes have.
Hi Claire! So many sound quite lovely 💚 I'm tired of neroli too
But I used to love it!
I need to ask your opinion
The question is.....
Is it true that a fragrance will smell different from a spray to a dabber vial? What do you think 🤔 I would think they're the same although you don't get the big blast from the sprayer. Hmmm
Thanks Claire ☘️ great review
I think I would like that green one best...number 3
Thank you ❤️
With regard to dabbers vs sprays, I do think they impact longevity and projection. Dabbers may appear to.last longer on skin as the fragrance is concentrated in one area. The smaller surface area may also mean there is less projection. The fragrance might progress through its stages slower too.
And yes, Jaipur Chant is a lovely one 🥰
My faves are Sandalwood Temple, Berber Blonde, Venus of Verbena and Jaipur Chant in that order. I didn't love the ambery ones
I feel like Sandalwood Temple seems to be a good shout for most people here! Jaipur Chant I really enjoyed too, thank you for the sample. 😊
Binge listening while driving. Sorry if I don’t comment more substantively.
No worries! Be safe ❤️
Hi Claire! Great review, I need to check out a couple now. Like my wishlist is short enough to add more 😄 I actually use Sandalwood Temple as a scent for my pillow before I go to bed 🩷 I don't see it on myself, but I love how cozy it is
It is cosy! You are right. 😊 These are worth a sniff. Thanks for watching 🥰
I also got beery animailic from Nubian Musk, but for me it was not a nice association as the child of an alcoholic father. It reminded me of my Dad giving me one of his bear hugs in his leather jacket when he was totally inebriated. Literally felt like he was trying to squeeze me to death. No wonder I don't like it when Adam gives me a bear hug 😬 soft hugs only here 😅
Yeah I can see that not being a pleasant association. Our scent memories are very individual and I'm sure that greatly influences our tastes. 🥰
@@dr.claire.perfume yes its very personal indeed isn't it
Absolutely 💯
Here🎉
Oh thank you! 😊
Incense Water that doesn’t smell like incense 🤔
No, it's weird isn't it? 🤔
I just bought the discovery set and each and every one of the scents makes me feel nauseous. They all just smell really cheap and about as subtle as being punched in the face. Just dreadful.
@@seaglass22 I guess fragrance is subjective. Which other brands do you enjoy? Thanks for watching 🥰
@@dr.claire.perfume Fragrances are indeed extremely subjective and a scent that smells divine on one skin can be unpleasant on another.
My favourite scent is Tiare by Ormonde Jayne. Because I love it they have discontinued it... story of my life. 😭
🤣 yes! That is sadly a thing! I haven't tried it, I've only smelt Levant and Osmanthus and OJ Woman from them 🥰 my favourite by far is OJ Woman.
😁😁👋
