This is part two of my entire perfume collection for 2023. I am someone who likes records, and I guess a video is a good record of how my fragrance collection looks.
Perfume collections are moving targets, you use stuff up, you buy more fragrances and you may also declutter fragrances you no longer love. I do tend to hold onto things, but actually filming this was really useful because it showed me which perfumes I should just finish up and what I truly love.
My fragrance collection totals around 110 full bottles and a few miniatures and I will therefore be splitting my collection video into two parts. This is part two, which will be fragrance houses beginning with the letters K-Z.

Everyone does collection videos a little differently, but I see little point in just showing you bottles, so I tell you a little bit about each one. There are many to get through though so I don't linger. If you have any questions, please just ask, I am very happy to answer!

I love your attitude about fragrance! I sprayed Narciso Ambrée in a Sephora this summer and fell in love, but the number of different versions of the Narciso cubes is overwhelming, and I feel like I have to make sure Ambrée is my favorite of the lot before purchasing…typing that out I realize it sounds silly. You’ve also made me really want to try Alluring Fig. I’m obsessed with fig, and fig + vanilla sounds alluring indeed!

I know what you mean, you don't need all of them, I only bought ambrée as the poudrée is nearly finished (as much as I can tell 🤣) and is discontinued. I would recommend all theodoros kalotinis fragrances, I've tried about 6 and they've all been so good! Very true to their names too. Thanks for watching 🥰

I agree it was a criminal act to discontinue the Decadence line and really don't understand this marketing decision since it has a lot of fans.
I have Signorina Ribelle, Narciso Poudree and Ricci Ricci as well (love the first two, and hate the last one).
I remember imagining This is Her way different too. I wasn't impressed the first time, but I've tried it again recently and loved it though💞🥰
I keep thinking that Marc Jacobs will bring Decadence back... It was so popular. It must have been an ingredient that they could no longer source or something 🤷♀️
Ricci Ricci is quite rhubarb focused and boozy almost. I can understand it being divisive. I love this is her, but that's another controversial one. Thanks for watching 🥰

My mother wore Windsong by Prince Matchabelli. I recently bought a small bottle. For the memories. The first sniff sent me back 66 years. I will never wear it….. but I’ll smell it occasionally….for the memories…..

Thank you ❤️ Yes! I totally get that feeling with some of mine, they are associated with others and take me somewhere but yes some of them, I don't need to wear, like 4711 Eau de cologne. Scents are amazing for taking you to people and places.

loved seeing your collection. some of these i've been really wanting to try, like violet ida and the 2nd lolita lempicka one. the original LL is a long time favorite of mine. i also have not given kayali a chance but you ma have convinced me to give them a try!

Definitely sample though, some of the fragrances are almost cousins of each other so if you like for example invite only, you will like lovefest, others are completely independent of the others. I was shocked it was discontinued! I just had to get one, I was always spraying it in store and never sure about whether I would get on with it or not, but I just figured if I didn't get a bottle my chance would go very quickly. 🤣 I'll try it over this winter and see how often I reach for it.

I love that we finally have some fragrance overlap. I remember in the past I was surprised that I didn't have a single bottle you had. My collection isn't as big as yours. I keep adding bottles slowly. 😅
I had the same experience with Kayali once I finally sampled them. I have two bottles from that house and wouldn't mind adding a few more. I have to say I do typically love Amber and tobacco scents, but was disappointed with Invite Only when I tried it. I thought it was going to be the one I preferred and was surprised when I didn't. I am trying to figure out my next purchase from them. Time to go through my samples and retry them.
I have TF Black Orchid and the Crystal Noir in Edp. I want to test out the Basilica, Verveine, and some Miller Harris. Found at Dusk sounds intriguing when ever you talk about it as do the other ones you own.

Kayali for sure need testing, stuff I thought I'd love, I haven't done and stuff I've thought I'd not enjoy, I have done with them. Their scent profiles are sometimes not quite what I expect.

I adore lost in translation, too. I also adore the smell of gardenias. I am a sucker for white florals in general. You got me interested in Marc Jacobs by Marc Jacobs. The only thing I might find off-putting is the green notes.
I was wondering whether to make a video about lost in translation. I was wondering whether to just scent the main characters and talk about why it's one of my favourite films, it's a bit niche I guess 🤣 Marc Jacobs is actually not one I'd seek out. Cruelty Free is something we need to discuss and be clear about it. Especially comes with perfumes I think companies need to be clear and accept that when they make a decision it would affect customers decisions and thing won’t be the same.
Yes I think just being transparent on reformulations would be a start. I really feel like cruelty free and vegan are not terms that everyone is clear on either. At what point do you stop, do the ingredients have to be those or just the overall product? Surely alcohol at some point will have been tested on animals for example?
@@dr.claire.perfume yes. It takes years to realise what does cruelty free mean to society / customers. Government also needs to clear and talk more about cruelty free. Besides cruelty free, humans right and environmental sustainability also could be a topic for discussion and educate. Most importantly is there any ways to make balance between those things.
Some beauty brands did a great job of announcing when would they discontinue/ changing formulas reason behind that or keep the original product let customers to decide which ones they prefer. However when comes to perfume industry I don’t think that much brands doing such thing after pandemic everything seems more confused and we need to start guessing when would the perfume be discontinued even stock up and perfume prices tag start to become ridiculous.
Yes transparency is really what is missing from a lot of areas for the consumer.

Ameer Al oud is surprisingly a love for me. Lattafa is a very hit or miss fragrance for me… I know what you mean.
Yes, that one has some different feel about it. But there's still something that niggles me a bit with it. Lattafa is a brand I am super wary of now. It would take a lot for me to make another purchase with them. Thanks for watching 🥰
Lol, he won't get anywhere with suing Madonna for having a frag with a similar scent profile as one of his. You can't copywrite or Intellectual property protect a smell. Captured proprietary molecules can be protected but I think that is because their specific chemical structure can be identified in court.

I have a question about the middle eastern perfumes, many europeans have visited egypt where the perfume shops are everywhere (and the sellers very hard to say no to😂)
I wonder if the quality of these now popular arabic perfumes are that same level…?
I have no idea why but those bought on holiday never worked for me when I came home.
I'm sorry but I'm not sure that I can answer as I've never bought fragrance on holiday and never been to anywhere I've seen fragrance being sold. I'd say that Lattafa are very much mainly a miss for me. I've tried Afnan and Swiss Arabian too and again I haven't found a love. Swiss Arabian was the best of the three, Afnan in particular is one that has just smelt incredibly chemical to me, but I think it's a personal thing, some people smell this and others don't and love them (just look at the popularity of Afnan and Lattafa on RUclips...). I am a doctor of genetics, so PhD, not a medical doctor. I didn't used to use my title, because really it's not relevant here, but then RUclips did these handle things and being a Smith, it was hard to find anything that wasn't already being used so I stuck the Dr in.

Well... Nova and it's "fruits" 🙄 maybe L'Oréal have done us a favour, only so many they can bow strip the soul out of and cash in on... Now we'll remember their era with Goddess... And you know what I'm very happy with that, I think it is perfectly poignant for what they've done to the brand.

I think the thing that made me wary of her was that she had a huge platform and she publicly announced her anti-vax status. I guess her personal choice is her personal choice, but I do think she had influence over a lot of others and may have helped to reduce vaccine take up further, I've seen the damage that mumps can do and I would not wish that on anyone. At the time of her being connected to kvd there were also accusations that she was anti-Semitic and that put me off her too but I do not think these were ever proven so may have been the result of some mis information and may have been unfounded. The fragrance is a good one anyway and I did not give money to kvd, I bought it secondhand. Thanks for watching 🥰
