🌟 About this video:
I'll admit I have a slightly weird obsession with watching perfume empties videos. I love them much more than hauls or declutters... Why? Well because people have a solid final opinion on fragrances they finish, and I love hearing that, good or bad. I also love knowing that a perfume has been used to the last drop. It gives me a fuzzy feeling of satisfaction.
So it's been 9 months since the last perfume empties video back in August 2021...(It's linked above if you want to watch it). Here I talk you through the 14 bottles that I've finished off since then and let you know what I thought and whether I would consider repurchasing.
Actually, I'm one of those people who love trying new things, I often just want to move on, but sometimes I can see myself going back for one reason or another, it's rare though!
So are you are perfume hoarder or do you whip through a bottle like it's wine time on a Friday night? 😉 Which perfumes have you been using up? Have you tried any of the perfumes that I've finished and would you repurchase them?
Also, do you enjoy a longer video or should I have split this? It is long... in fact, my longest video EVER.

Doing empties videos has made me think about my own particular type of fragrance hoarding. I have realised I hoard my favourites and use them sparingly, most especially for formulations that I can no longer easily find. I know really that I should just use them as much as I want though…
Note that some of these bottles are vintage formulations, so my fragrance might have been a bit different to the newer bottles in stores now. Also I often buy secondhand fragrances for formulation, environmental and economic reasons, so I might not have used the entire bottle, but it will have been a significant proportion of it!

I love watching empties of any sort but finishing a perfume is EPIC !!!
Yes, it takes ages 🤦♀️ I am learning not to blind buy bigger bottles. That black XS bottle was 80ml and full when I got it secondhand. That took some finishing, but it faded quickly so I just reapplied a lot when I wore it cos I couldn't smell it and the opening, with the cranberry, was the best bit! 😂

Haha, I love the minis in a way because there's enough to try there, but also they are annoying because they are dabbers. I often buy secondhand so I guess that's why I finish so many. I am not drinking it 😂
Oh my goodness, how did I miss this??? 😱 What an impressive and inspiring empties stash!! I have one of those Flowerbomb minis too, and am likewise SO impressed by it’s potency. And of course, like you, I chase those vintage Angels! I just picked up one of the old formulation dusting powders and adore it. ❤️❤️❤️
Haha! Yes, this was way overdue, I had so many empties! Yes, I am always searching for those vintage Thierry Mugler perfumes, I have a vintage Alien now which I love! Vintage Alien seems to go for a lot of money here though unfortunately... Thanks for watching!
This is so satisfying to watch! 🤩I barely ever finish one because of the size of my massive collection. I have to rotate a lot, so that I use all of them. 😊
Yes me too, I generally wear something different each day but several of these had only 10ml or so left so I just stopped rotating to finish these off. It felt quite satisfying to move a few bottles out, some of these had been hanging around for a couple of years!
This is the first of your videos I have seen. There aren't too many fragrance empties videos out there. I really enjoyed the reviews you gave each of the fragrances. I look forward to checking out more of your videos.
Romance was my signature scent soon after it came out. I was just out of university and it felt youthful enough to appeal to me and a maturity I wanted but still didn't feel. At 25 I really felt like I was impersonating an adult. When I wore Romance, I felt like an adult, even if I didn't really feel like one. I have a little 30ml bottle of the current formulation and it's a shadow of it's former self, but I keep it around for nostalgia.
Thank you! I agree, to me the new one is a bit different, not quite as unique but still beautiful. I get that it can give you a feeling of being elegant and out together and maybe slightly older than you are.
I have another perfume empties video from about 10 months ago, I'm not sure whether you've spotted that, but yes I agree, so many declutters out there and very few empties 😂

Well I do buy mostly secondhand fragrances anyway so most of the larger bottles are not full when I get them so that's perhaps why I am using up quite a few... Burberry Touch surprised me! I thought it was really interesting!

Burberry Touch surprised me! I really didn't expect to like it, but my bottle was really quite old and was very very strong. I think it is perhaps a bit quieter these days 😂
i watched this a few days ago, and somehow i didnt comment may be i had a call? lol but whats funnier is how u described a couple of perfumes here, especially the black xs and the avril lavigne connection with it haha that was hilarious! and i love Versace vanitas one of the few women fragrances that id happily wear... lovely vid ♥

38 seconds into watching and you’ve already made such an excellent point! It’s also made me realize that I’ve only really finished a handful of perfumes in my life, all of which I do feel that I know so much better than any others. Happy to discover your channel!
Thank you! Yes, when you have a bigger collection, you begin to realise that there are some fragrances that you rarely reach for and don't really know that well. Finishing one makes you think about how you feel about it and actually I must admit, I tend to hoard ones that I love that I know I can't easily repurchase which is a shame really, I should just enjoy them! ❤️

I suppose I hadn’t really thought of hoarding in the sense of it being saving, and had been mainly thinking of it as the acquiring side of it, in the way that I have purchased multiple back-ups for fear of them being discontinued, which is a MUCH worse habit than saving the last bit of a beloved and irreplaceable bottle.🙂

I do love these videos ❤️ An empty bottle and a replacement says rather a lot. I am always surprised though when a scent loses its appeal part way through a bottle. Fortunately I have perfume friends so we do swap bottles around quite a bit.

I too find empties videos so entertaining!! Great one, you managed to finish a lot of bottles!! (I should get smaller ones, definitely!) You exactly portrayed what Angel is for me (old formulation always!) I love spraying it on my jumpers and how the patchouli stays there forever ❤️ definitely a comforting scent for cooler weather. I also wear it for myself but I'm lucky my husband likes it 😅 🤗
Oh you know what? My husband is so fickle, when I first got it, he would spray it on him and say how much he liked it 🤣 now, he says, "eww! What's that?" So who knows?! He'll probably change his mind again eventually 😂 Yes I LOVE it on jumpers! It's so good! ❤️ Thank you for watching 😘

I was looking into purchasing illicit flower to add to my collection. Very inexpensive and I love floral perfumes 💛
It's pretty and long lasting. Not exciting or ground breaking but not everything has to be. It's an easy reach, I wore it a lot for work because it's inoffensive.

I give my empties to a friend’s teenage daughter who then etches and paints them, they look so pretty displayed in her bedroom!
That's a fab idea! I've kept all of mine from this and last year's video... They feel like trophies 🤣 I would be happy to give them to someone who would do something like that with them though, some of the bottles, e.g. Angel, are just so pretty 😍
I feel the same about Burberry Body, I picked it up recently when it was on clearance at a discount shop. I am so impressed with the number of fragrances you have completed! I love empties videos of any kind, but this was especially satisfying. 💗
Hi Aidan! I keep trying Burberry Body because there are aspects of it that I find really interesting but it is not what I was expecting at all, people described it as musky, no one mentions the sour apple green fruity wormwood at the beginning that lessens but stays!
You know actually a few of these were only minis and I buy a lot of secondhand, so very few of these were full when I got them. The ones I finish are generally the ones that I use for work I think so perhaps the less exciting ones 😂 I love watching fragrance empties too!

Yes! I think snuggle nuzzle is one of my favourite perfume categories 😂 mini bottles are super cute, but so annoying to use... I think I will decant them into sprayers in future. They are so great to try something though! Thanks for watching as always! ❤️

Yes, I am learning that about myself, I think I wore romance for a few weeks solid at one point, at least on workdays... The ones you don't have to think about and that aren't distracting are the ones I tend to wear when I am busy. That is so true Frances 😊
Claire, I love your reviews, so intelligent and straightforward. I remember a review you did a few months back, which was for an Angel flanker ( or maybe it was an Alien flanker). At the time I remember thinking how I would never try a Mugler fragrance because I had heard so many divergent opinions. Well now I am not only loving Angel and all its flankers, but starting to build my Alien collection. Thanks for opening my world to the beautiful, complex fragrances that Mugler makes.
Hi Suzanne, thank you! Oh that makes me so happy! I love Mugler fragrances. Angel was huge surprise to me, I also remember hearing so many people hate it on first sniff on RUclips. You never know though do you? You just have to try perfumes for yourself, even then, even several tries later, something clicks and you see what other people love suddenly. Yes, it is a happy fragrance, I agree! And yes, a good idea/ impression of a daisy and how it could smell, even if not in reality. I miss Daisy, but I'm not repurchasing, I have so many others I want to use first!

From the list I Iove Angel and Illicit Flower. I have Burberry London and I ADORE it , it smells like a dense, syrupy tangerine marmalade with a hint of jasmin, creamy sandalwood, and tiaré flowers. Burberry London is one of my all times favourite !!
This year I've finished Pure Xs, Britney Spears Fantasy , Givenchy Amarige, I will repurchase Pure Xs, I love the Popcorn note in it ❤️

Daisy is one I love but for sentimental reasons I think. I never owned it until a few years ago and I always wanted it when I was younger but I never had it. Anyway that itch has been scratched 🤣

I have another bottle and I did love it, but towards the end of the bottle I started noticing something sour in the dry down, was the fragrance not as fresh as it could have been or was that real? I might try my new bottle and see if I still smell it. I loved it up until I smelt that bit at the end... Yes you too Julie, have a lovely weekend 🥰
I'm struggeling with the note of peach too. It hast to be very well blended. I try to finish some of my bottles, but there are so many 😬. I really like Burberry London very much, not to sweet interessting and pleasent. At the moment my favourite "office-scent". Love Long Videos and you are absolutely right: finishing a perfume, even tiny dabbers, are the only was to "know" a perfume. My last emptie was a 30 ml of Jil Sander "Jil". A wonderful scent, sadly discontinued. Thanks a lot, looking forward to your next video 🌼!
I keep try peach scents because avoiding peach is just really limiting, there are so many fragrances with peach! It is so variable as to whether I can get past it though. Sometimes it's just all I can smell. I will try some more Burberry for sure, London is on my list! I've not tried much Jil Sander, but I love simply poudrée! btw, I didn´t know that Romance was released in the 90s... i was shocked when I researched it ! I have a shelf in my perfume cabinet for the 'vintages', and I bet they are all mad because I keep Romance with the 'bright florals' shelf 🤣 btw, I still think the 90´s was like 10 years ago. i can´t believe it´s been like 3 decades 😵💫
Same Paola, I totally skip decades when I think about how long ago the 90s were... Yes Romance belongs in vintage LOL. Boss orange was a bit dull but actually better that I remembered. I guess they had a collection called boss orange didn't they, but come on, you'd think they would have put orange in it or at least amped up the orange flower?! Apple is a bit of an "okay???!!!" moment.

Potpourri was a 90s thing wasn't it? Dusty and not smelling of much, but very distinctive to begin with. I am still trying with Body, I sometimes wear it and think I like the drydown, the opening is really odd though. It wasn't at all how I expected from how I'd heard people describe it! Which Burberry fragrances do you actually enjoy? It might help me to know!

It's only good to finish one that you didn't love though isn't it? Otherwise it is just a bit sad that it's gone... I definitely hoard the ones that I love most, which is a bad habit but a lot of these I can no longer easily get... Discontinued or reformulated. 😭
I'm really surprised about her rendition of daisy. I think it smells beautiful, certainly not young, i wouldn't place it in an age range at all. . It also lasts almost the entire day for me, with wonderful sillage. My bottle is about 7 years old and the smell hasn't changed at all.
I really like Daisy, it's one I'd go back to. I do think that it is not given much love on RUclips though...

Finishing a perfume is so satisfying. however recently I been finishing so many, but they're all my favourites, so will have to repurchase all of them anyways 😭❤️

Viktor and Rolf is one of my favourites. I may be late to the party, but I am glad I eventually got there. I also like Flowerbomb Nectar the best !!

so intrigued by Burberry touch after your descriptions of it... I have a pretty harmonious relationship with Burberry - my first ever perfume was Burberry Summer, a gift from my perfume-lover sister ☺ Since then I've loved Burberry Brit and London and am getting to know My Burberry at the moment... I like it as a scent but it feels too grown up and "professional" for my student/mum in mostly streetwear aesthetic lol

I have been familiar with Romance since it came out. To my nose, the very essence of the fragrance has never changed despite the reformulations. It’s a little black dress for me. A no-brainer. It clearly dates me 😊
Haha, I enjoyed Romance in the end, it was one that was great for work, very clean and professional, but pretty too. Definitely a signature fragrance! The new one definitely retained a big similarity with the older bottle that I had. My fragrance perhaps might have degraded slightly perhaps too? You never really know for sure with older bottles whether it's reformulation or just changes from age. 🤷♀️

My childhood smells like tresor because that was my moms signature for years and years. I can't wear it because it is moms smell and it wouldnt feel right, but I do love the smell!
It's very, very musky isn't it? But a very distinctive musk! I had no idea what it was before I made a video all about musk and learnt about galaxolide! It's so so distinctive! I can really see how it would be strongly memory evoking. Thanks for watching Trina. 🥰

Good job Claire!! I thought I was done with Romance but then I blind bought the new one that looks like a silver bottle and I fell for it! If I had to keep 5 roses fragrances it would be in the bunch. As for Marc Jacobs, I prefer the Eau So Fresh line. I love most of them.
I have no idea which Romance that is, but I will go try to find it on Fragrantica and have a read about it. I don't think I want another bottle of the original EDP for a while... it is a good one though.
I think I've only tried the original Eau so fresh and the spring one, maybe the skies too. I like most of them actually, they are easy to wear and light and floral and fruity for the most part. ❤️

OMG!!! 14 Bottles?!!!! I don´t see the day I will finish a bottle. Since early april I haven´t worn perfume regualrly due to health issues, and during the pandemic I wore a lot of body mists, hats off Claire!

And the 14 bottles, well, 3 of those were minis and a few of these I've been using a long long time so yeah, it also takes me ages to get through a bottle too! I did find I had several in March and April with not much left so I just targeted those and wore little else (outside of testing). Sadly I've already filled up the space I freed up with more fragrances 🤦♀️

Well before I forget try Burberry London, a beautiful white floral.
Interestingly Boss Orange, the "Homme" version is apple top, but Boss do use apple alot. Its pleasant very veey safe but I do barely wear it.

I have been missing Daisy. I wore it a lot in March. Same last spring, it's very spring.
I sprayed Seb with one million the other day, he wasn't pleased 😂 he has about 5 samples and that is one of the ones that he has... I can't say that sets my world on fire.
But would you want to finish anything? Surely that's not in keeping with the hoarding? Or do you have ones that you don't love that you would not miss? I think I will be extremely sad when some of mine are gone.

Love the video Claire! Very impressive empties. I would love to know your tips on finishing fragrances! Do you focus on one at a time or pick a few to work on? Or you do you just normally go through them without trying? Any tips would be appreciated or a video about it would amazing!
I tend to make an active decision to either hoard or use up a fragrance when it reaches about 10ml left... I think I tend to use up the safer ones that I use for work really. If I don't like something I tend to use it as a bedtime scent rather than just throw it away, e.g. dabbers that are unhygienic to pass on, cos I hate waste. I also buy a lot of secondhand fragrance so many are not full when I get them, some are, but for sure not all! Thanks for watching ❤️

Ahh, you managed to empty 14 perfumes?! I think the last time I emptied a bottle - and I am not talking about samples or travel sprays - is about 7 years ago. But then again, I am a notorious under sprayer, so I go for three to four sprays a day which probably doesn't really help when it comes to finishing bottles. And even when it comes to samples I tend to hang on to that last little drop so as not to finish it.
Well, thankfully you also talked about some miniatures, so there is still hope for me!
I wonder how I'd feel about wearing Angel Man again as it was a fragrance I used to wear whenever I went to a club (and it was also the times when our fragrances still had to cut through the smoke of cigarettes). I have heard that it is not the beast mode fragrance it used to be, but even if it's half as strong as I remember it, it will fill a room. 😂

Haha Andreas! I bet you smelt amazing in Angel Man! I don't think I've smelt it, I think I've only smelt flankers... I know people were really upset about the reformulations... Oh the joy when the smoking ban came in 😊 I could go out and not reek of smoke afterwards! It seems totally alien to think of people smoking on planes and trains now!
You know what? I did have quite a few minis here... 3??? And i buy a lot of secondhand fragrances, so the bottles are rarely completely full and I've had a few of these perfumes for over 2 years now. I think I also do that fragrance hoarding thing, as soon as I get to 10ml, there is an active decision where I either hoard or use it up. Ones I'm currently hoarding are Narciso Poudrée, Glossier You, Womanity, la nuit Tresor musc diamant and Alien Eau extraordinaire... It's understandable because things like Womanity have been reformulated, but it's also a bit silly to keep something that could just end up going off! I totally understand the reference thing though... I think I mainly finish the safer, more everyday ones that I wear mainly for work. Good luck with finishing one this year and thanks for watching ❤️

Well the "oakmoss" is there but it definitely smells different. It's recognisable for sure, but not the same.
I was surprised that flowerbomb was lasting for me too, I swear the sprays that I've tried don't last at all, so I've no idea how I could smell it so long 🤷♀️

It’s so impressive how much perfume you go through ! May I ask how many sprays you do every day?
Well it depends on the fragrance and how long it lasts. Stuff like toy2 bubblegum with its addictive top note might be 15. I also switch fragrance if it's faded by the time I get home and I wear fragrance to bed too. But also most of the ones i emptied in 2022 were minis, travel sprays or smaller bottles or partials that I bought secondhand (it's much cheaper to try lots of fragrance that way, e.g. 25-30ml toy2 bubblegum in 100ml bottle was £7 Vs £35) or stuff I'd had a long time and already used a lot of. E.g. when I filmed my collection video in August 2022 I noticed lots of bottles with not much left and did a kind of project pan with them cos I needed space and I didn't want the ones with not much left to go off through oxidation. 😊

I love Tresor and really miss it in my collection ,I don’t find it to be vintage ,very classic in my opinion ,I’d like a small bottle
It was quite comforting in a way, the musk was so so powdery though! I want to go to try the new version and see how it compares. ❤️
In Burberry Touch I also feel this pepper the first minute, to me it's actually more like aceton and then It didn't even reach the drydown, just faded away. But I tried it last year for the first time
I actually thought my bottle might be a little bit off, so I didn't mention that I thought it smelt a little weird, but maybe that's actually how it smells?! 😂 Mine lasted pretty well though. It was quite old!
@@dr.claire.perfumeI still have a half bottle of Touch that I bought in 1999. I live in Brazil, so this was really a night time scent for me then. I noticed that the top notes are gone now. It’s dryer, but still long lasting and pleasant. And now I use it on days that I want smell unique. Really glad I didn’t declutter this one.

In Greece Angel is a very popular fragrance. I haven't smelt the modern version but the vintage one is what every girl in Greece wore as a night out fragrance. It is a bit too sweet for me as is the case with hypnose by Lancome and la vie est Belle. That being said I have worn all three and enjoyed them but I am not sure whether I would repurchase.
Yes, I still have a mini of LVEB but that one is just so so sweet! Hypnose to me is a tropical floral cake 😂 I know that's weird, but it's got a strange and very interesting texture to it, maybe it's the vetiver coming through a bit? I don't think I would want a full bottle but it is unique to me. I didn't ever wear Angel until 2020 and ever since I have been searching for vintage bottles. I think Aura started the interest in Mugler for me, before then I wasn't really aware of it, that sounds so odd now, but that's the truth! Thanks for watching 😘
Burberry touch is an untamed beast on me. I have a newer bottle and it’s strong. I love it. I have brit, brit rhythm and London as well. Love them all. Brit is a beautiful almond and lime to me. Rhythm is a fresh lavender beast as well. London is pretty. It feels like a more honeysuckle forward and more transparent version of gucci bloom to me

BOSS Orange was just one of the collections of the brand, more 'casual style' line of clothes. I believe right now it's just BOSS. So the name of the perfume had nothing to do with oranges 😉 I also used to own a bottle of Boss Orange years ago and enjoyed it but wouldn't repurchase it either.

The large bottle that I decluttered was one that I had been gifted. I couldn't face using it unfortunately. The dabber was easier for me to use. It wasn't as strong. 🥰

Burberry is tricky for me, they are not crowd pleasers for sure, I'm not sure I understand them, I even don't like Burberry her, everyone seem to love that! 🙃
The Tresor bottle annoyed me from the moment You showed it😸 I've expected better from Lancome. I've smelled it, but didn't like it it's too mature for me too "perfumey"
I wouldn't choose the vintage version for sure. I've not tried the modern one, but I am pretty sure it would not be something I would want to purchase. The only lancôme I love that I've tried is some of the LNT line. The rest I can take or leave. A lot of their fragrances are very heavy for me.

I love the drydown. The early stages can be a little harsh but the drydown is amazing. I can totally see you smelling it on someone else. LOL my husband is perhaps the most reliable reference point. When I first bought another bottle of Angel he sprayed some on himself and said how he liked it so much that he would wear it (he doesn't wear fragrance) so who knows what he thinks. He has varying opinions on a lot of stuff. That's just him. But yeah, unpredictable and a bit annoying 🤣

Well, I kept all of the bottles so far from last August. I have no idea why 🤷♀️ I have used a few of them in videos, so it's not been entirely for nothing but it's still a bit weird. I will keep them for now. I have the space. Do you keep yours?

I also keep most of the body mist bottles (if I have multiple from the same scent then I only keep one). I can always throw them but I feel like I would regret it so I keep them (hoarder-much😺)

1- Anyone can talk about anything on RUclips no one is controlling anyone’s perfume preferences
2- Makeup your mind is it too popular and everyone is talking about it? Or is it too controlled no one could talk about it?
3- Perfumes don’t make you “cool” or “uncool” and frankly we should just wear perfume we like
I don’t understand were this attitude/hostility and “not like other girls” behaviour came in this video, so unprovoked. It’s just a meh, boring scent but no one is policing anyone about it, especially on RUclips.
1. How often do you see perfume channels talk about Daisy positively? From the ones I'm subscribed to, I'd say I've not seen anyone else say they like Daisy ever and I'm subbed to at least 100, if not more, I didn't count. I like it.
2. It is a popular fragrance in general but it's an old one and not popular on yt.
3. I agree that people can wear what they want, but there is a perception of coolness with perfume choice and your choice might reflect other aspects of your personality. Think what would you think/assume of someone who chose e.g. ELDO you or someone like you, compared with what you would think/assume of someone choosing MJ Daisy?
I wasn't hostile, this a perception, this is just meant to be fun. I like Daisy and I don't mind saying that I like it.

No of course not! 🤣 I buy secondhand fragrances so not all are full when I get them, but there would be absolutely zero point in me buying empty bottles!!!! Do you want me to write out how much was left in each one when I got them? Would that make it clearer? Notice that 3 of the ones that I have finished are small bottles and some of these fragrance I have had for over two years.
