Devin Niemela torque cam caps to 8in lbs? Sounded a bit hesitant Manuel says 106+_8in lbs? And for the fronts where you get this sequence I’m not seeing it on the Manuel?? Lol
ATTN @devin niemela in this video you state that the cam thrust bearing bolts are to be torqued to 8-in/lb this is not correct just for anyone watching this video to help with their 4b11 build like I was. The correct torque is 107 +-8 in/lb and in the service manual it also says to torque the cam cap to 23 ft/lb final torque this is not correct as you will stretch and or break the bolts inside the head. The proper torque is 15 ft/lb on second and final pass. Don't want anyone to blow an engine up and get all those Evo's running smooth out there! thanks again for doing these walkthroughs though man it gave me the confidence to do my own build having seeing you do it on here first. Mucho love brother and keep it up!
I have always used 106in/lbs for the m6 bolts and 22lb for the m8 bolts....i have never had a problem on any of the 5 engines I've done....he did torqued the big main cap using the wrong sequence tho
Really nice the videos man planing on do the same on mine I want to build it safe. Planning on do the transmission, transfer and rear diff from there jump in to the engine. I'm also planning on get a FRS/BRZ/86 do a 2JZ single turbo.
Hey Devin I tried to did a valve spring and a GSC S2 Cam install and accidentally drop all my valve bucket and now they are not in the right order where they go in. a GSC S2 required a .08in for the intake and .12in for the ex. I put everything in and measured it but it all off. Yes I did make a listed but is there a way to help me get to .08in for the IN and .12in for EX instead of keep take cam off and repeat until i find the correct one or it doesnt matter? Anything will help at this time lol.

Is this a stock block? Shouldn't it be sleeved?
How do you which arp studs to get ? 625 or arp 2000?
Whqt cams u used?
did you build your head with some valves? springs and retainers?
What head gasket did you use/thickness? HKS do a nice product but expensive. Not convinced anything beyond oem is required regardless.
Ian Johnson I use oem head gaskets
Can you make a post on your Instagram story next time you bring the Evo out to a meet in the Valley? Thanks!
Yes, will do!
Dudes face looking like a veggie tales character 😂😂
Brianna Strand was that a library joke?
I just did the same for my evo x motor
Very nice. Hows it holding up?
