Great video, had the same problem. This helped me trouble shoot and get it back together. Taking it back the the shop today, fingers crossed she provides lather.

Unnecessary to take apart to unclog. I have the same machine. Just use Hot distilled water and run it thru at the end of the day. I also use hot distilled water with the soap mixture for easier use of the machine. Never had an issue when doing this

I like your parts organizer: motor brushes, machine screws, washers, nuts, soy sauce, chicken and beef ramen.

Thanks for the video much needed and you're right not a lot of videos on how to service it. Wow, such a simple unit. Question you mention both Lather king machines, which one is better, old or new?

Good luck. They are always getting clogged but pretty simple to clear out.

Wife has this model and didn't work well from day one. I don't think the valve is opening enough. I have a lather time and it works great. I will try to open the valve more on the king.

You can take a spray bottle on a stream and spray inside where the lather comes out too to getting it working properly again.

The motor on my lather king works so does the heating coil. The only problem I have is the lather comes out very liquidy and extremely hot. If you can comment back on what you think it is please do.

I add about a quarter of a disc of shaving soap to the hot mixed concentrate. Adds lanolin which makes the blade slide better and makes a better quality lather. It dissolves overnight.

I have the same problem, it’s not rich and lathery at all. Very runny and super hot. Can’t seem to get it right and I’ve tried all kinds of mixtures.

Its either a poor mix (one cap full of later a little cleaner (or alchol [cap full]) and it should work. If not it needs cleaning. There's something that looks like a plastic drill bit the whips it into a foam. If those grooves have soap caked i them they dont whip well. If you're uncomfortable with disassembly lots of 50/50 hot water and alchol. Might have to run it for a while (hour or so) or open it and scrap all the caked up soap off. ALSO use that little cleaning brush in the valve opening.

Just got one of these second hand. I'm going to say this about it. Right out of the box it was clogged and all the tricks werent doing Jack $hit. Simple design. Simple motor. Fortunately I've been repairing appliances since I was 8 years old, have done a ton of laptops, computers, washers, dryers, refrigerators in my time. 😂
Dissassembled everything. Took pictures step by step for reverse assembly. Cleaned up the worm gear/cream aerator. Cleaned out all the valves and jets with some miniature britle brushes from Harbor Freight I had on hand. Threw them in a coffee cup of boiling water and detergent. Got all the calcified soap, blocks, calcified solids and green oxidation from the brass jet out of there. COATED EVERYTHING FROM THE MOTOR, THE PLATICS, THE WORM GEAR, VALVES, AND DISPENSER WITH A LIGHT COATING OF WD-40.
Loaded up the mixture in the soap cup, waited 20 to 30 minutes to warm up.....Hot liquid. Not lathery. Campbell's mixture ratio is WAAAYYY OFF. I diluted 1/2 a bottle of concentrated to one gallon of distilled water. I poured a quarter sized more amount of concentrate into the soap cup and mixed it up. Nice warm slick lather came out. Success! Wasn't exactly impressed by the volume and aeration of it compared to a badger brush and shaving soaps and creams. But the lather performed well for my straight razor shave. For the most part it's how I remember it from 30 years ago from my old barber shop.
Now? I'm going to have to figure out a ratio to dial this solution in for optimal performance. That and I'm going to do a little experiment of rinsing the guts when not in use. Dump or store liquid contents in soap cup. (For home use.) Rinse with hot water and alcohol from port valve. Rinse dispenser side. Then coat valve with a squirt of WD 40 and suction it in for any storage.
I'll report back over long term multiple stores how it works and if it keeps the solids in the solution from clogging up the ports/jets.
For how simple this design is. It shocks me how much most places charge for this machine.

Your problem is that its being over filled thats why it rwaches all the internals.. also your mixture is off. If its not perfect it will be to thick and clog or full of water. I have been repairing these for close to 20 years

You may need to clean out the tunnel. If it's clogged it won't heat properly. You may need to replace the heating wire. You could pull it out and see if it gets hot.. if so it's clogged
