I’ve seen a lot of people say things like “Ubisoft made a better Star Fox than Nintendo,” but if you think about it, Nintendo almost always gets other people to help make Star Fox rather than doing it themselves. Argonaut, Rare, Namco, Q-Games, Platinum... the only one developed solely by Nintendo EAD is Star Fox 64. Coincidence that 64 is the most well-regarded game? Maybe, maybe not. Okay man, I enjoy your content a great deal but I have to make it known that this game is getting a woefully raw deal. I feel the inclusion of Fox, although awesome and I'm happy it introduced me to the game, is massively overshadowing the rest of the game. There is a really solid foundation here that people just want to brush off by saying "Eh it's only worthwhile for Fox." That's a huge disservice to the developers. I really enjoy the characters in this game besides Fox despite the pretty standard plot. They're fun with a lot of chemistry. TidyWire I couldn’t stomach the “diversity quota” cast and found Fox and co. far more tolerable in terms of dialogue and personality. If Fox wasn’t in the game, I would have dropped this one. Roll call: Razor LeMay: Badass rocker chick with hairy arm pits and “tough as nails” attitude. “Best Pilot in the galaxy.” Feminist trope? Check. Shaid: Badass roguish space pirate alien chick with snarky attitude and obnoxious one-liners. Calisto Chase: Badass adrenaline junky “Latina” chick with a cyborg arm and a huge blonde fro that’s also a child prodigy. Speed-obsessed. Hunter Hakka: Samoan Buddhist military grunt with no personality. Mason Rana: Naive Pakistani/Indian dude with no self-esteem yet somehow a genius that creates super tech and a green-horn rookie. Beta. Levi McCray: Obnoxious white kid “dudebro.” Your typical awful male trope in feminist propaganda that acts as the “jobber” to showcase the intellectually/emotionally superior female (see the first 3 character listed here). Judge: Bay-Max.
The characters are very bland and nothing stands out about them. If you're saying they're meant to be like Saturday morning cartoon characters then they fail on that level because those characters are usually exaggerated and memorable for that reason. These guys aren't.
I can mostly agree with your points in the video but I honestly think this game looks fantastic on my TV. I was actually surprised by how good the visuals look on the Switch considering the frame rate is solid. I've played so many games on the Switch where the resolution would get pretty low and I've gotta say that this isn't one of them. Since this is the second game on the Switch utilizing the Snow Drop engine it's clear to me that it's a good engine overall for multi-platform development. Finally, I will say that if this game didn't have Star Fox in it I would never have bought it because it would be all the worst things that Spawnwave says in this video (this is also why I don't know if this game will sell super well on the other consoles) with few redeeming qualities considering the cost of the game. However, they've implemented Star Fox so well into this game that I'm just having a blast playing as Fox and pretending this is basically just a side-adventure game for his crew whilst someone makes a brand new Star Fox game. After playing this game for about 10 hours so far I'm actually excited about the possibility of a new Star Fox game on the Nintendo Switch where I'm hoping they use Star Fox 64 as a template where you do go to many different types of worlds and space environments and also throw in a little Star Fox adventure where Fox gets to show off his Smash Bros skills in direct combat from time to time. Also, please just make the Arwing moddable similar to this game where you can do different things in different environments without requiring different vehicles like the landmaster or the submarine.
The game doesn't look "fantastic" because first of all you're playing on a low powered Switch. The textures are low res and it has some weird normal map pop in or LOD that makes the models look ugly up close. It looks good over all but not great.
Nintendo can actually make the next StarFox game just without Miyamoto cause clearly he can’t think of ways to progress the franchise further than retelling the same story and introducing a forced gimmick (StarFox Zero)
+Brian De Jesus Hell yeah! My favorite one out of the Star Fox franchise! It's extremely flawed and rushed of a game but it's still fantastic to me. I'll fight back!
If you look at it like a Zelda clone, then it's a great game. But if you want it to be a starfox game, then you'll be disappointed. That's why the game gets so much hate, even though it's good.
I played StarFox 64 in my cousin's house back in the day, but my real first StarFox game was Adventures. So for me, part of the StarFox formula is a game that has great flying mechanics, but if possible, some boots on the ground action. That's why StarFox Assault might be the closest there is to a perfect StarFox for me. If they fix the controls for Fox on the ground, then I'd suggest the next developer follows that formula. We could have an amazing game on our hands!
Fox gets you to buy the game. But I have to say I’m loving the balance of difficultly of the game. Love driving around at times scanning creatures and helping the locals. Just enough upgrades to keep me going. Definitely enjoy the damage element mix. Makes you think of combos.
Just bought it 5 years late to the party and it's amazing I think reviewers werent really able to fathom the achievement of the nintendo switch running this and being able to play it portable 720p looks and feels amazing and it seems so fun to play we all like some ubisoft every once in a while but ai wasnt going to dive into division AC or Ghost recon too many gigabytes. Also the fact that they were able to get starfox for this game is an accomplishment by itself
After watching the whole review, I will add that I would enjoy the game without Fox. I bought the starter kit and Razor and her ship and I played with her for the first hour or so. I think enjoying gaming gets harder and harder if you're a person who buys every game that comes out for every system and never really gets to experience anything fresh or new because you're so over saturated
@@conventional124 I agree with you guys. Oversaturation doesn't just mean owning multiple consoles. I was growing really bored of games probably last year. because I was playing only certain kinds of games and I considered game genres I wasn't really familiar with a waste of time. I tried a FPS game for the first time ever because it was kind of silly (Super Noah's Ark 3D on Steam :) ) and I actually loved it. I started playing a lot of FPS games, and I decided to be way more open minded going forward. Now if a game looks fun, doesn't matter the genre I generally give it a try. :) Also I find that owning a Nintendo Switch really opens me to a ton of different Genres :)
Secondary effects of weapons is actually pretty cool. Ice can freeze, fire does damage over time, stasis holds enemies in the air, gravity makes targets target's shots loop back on the target, Impact can knock over enemies.
I think it's a good fun game for what it is, it's nowhere near a game of the year contender but if they continue the franchise they could maybe work on the flaws the game has. I'm interested to see what kind of DLC they have planned for this when it comes to story/game play stuff. More missions and story like the starfox addition would be welcome even if it stars the main cast, they could use more fleshing out anyways.
@@enjoi0555 This has nothing to do with his point. Also from what i can tell ( from all the reviews that i have shown and read so far)this a good or very good game, not great but no mediocre either.
enjoi0555 true, it’s not a great game. My value comes from getting to play as Star Fox, and watching my 5 yo son getting to be a spaceship and blasting everything, including me...
Enjoying the game! Yes a little repetitive but still fun and so much customisable content that there should be a great “hours for your money” balance 👍
Since I haven't played most of Ubisoft's other recent games, and I absolutely love space opera stuff, I'm really having a lot of fun with this game. Enough fun that I went out and bought another ship and a weapon pack. It's perfect for me to play at work too while I'm sitting around waiting for stuff to do.
Kilee M wait...so you have to be a certain age to play Nintendo games? I’m 33, and yes, I still play tons of video games on my Nintendo Switch, my PS4 pro, my Xbox One X, my PC, my cell phone and tablets. Having a good job, I have money to spend on all of these things. I’m really having a hard time trying to understand your logic tbh.
@@quintendo64qomics36 don't feed the trolls. I was also older than the reviewer when Adventures came out (currently 36 in 2021). I also play a LOT of games on switch, PS5 and PS4, and sometimes on my phone.
It’s a really solid foundation for a future Starlink/Starfox game IMO. Not sure I would want the Toys 2 Life aspect to remain in future releases. Guess I can ignore them mostly. Scale seems fine for largely unexplored planets with little development. Fox is also mush smaller than the humans in the game as shown in the cutscenes.
Playing this on handheld is amazing. It’s easy easy to change weapons. Maybe even faster. No need to look and grab and switch guns. Just push start hit A then b very quick.
I've been delay the game for a large amount of time, because I don't have space for more crap at home, but last week I bought the digital version and OH MY! the game is amazing :') Can't stop play it.
The digital standard edition gives you weapons of every damage type so you won't have to worry about much. some of the still locked parts would give you more variety in kinds of weapons in those elements but for solving puzzles you can do just fine. the only thing that irked me is that you need some of the locked pilots to unlock a bunch of upgrades on the flagship.
Hey Jon, while I love your channel, I also love this game. It's the best space game to ever grace the Nintendo Switch game yet, and the high production value shows. I bought the $80+ Deluxe Edition, and I'm having a blast. I'm a fan of Starfox, but I started my first save file as Mason because I feel that he is this game's main character. Whether this game had Starfox or not, I still would have made the purchase because I love space games.
Glad it's not just me then! Why do people moan about repitition when they buy Call of Duty games without hesitation? All games have a degree of repitition so that you get used to the mechanics early on and reapply it later to a greater or lesser amount depending on your strategy.
I bought the digital deluxe version, came with every pilot, ship, and weapon (except the retail exclusives) all for only $40. So I was able to 100% every planet.
On day one I picked up everything that came out and of course I got the switch version! I am a big into space and our solar system so I knew I would like this game and I was correct it is extremely fun imo!!
I’m having a good time. With the game. Like the ideas of 1. Star Fox and. 2. flying around in a plane, thus having control of a plane. I also think the toys to life will eventually faid which means toys will become Collectable and difficult to find.
This is one of the first Ubisoft games I'm going to play and one of the first Star Fox games I'm going to play. It's only because the switch is my first real console and Starlink is the only new Star Fox game on the switch.
You didnt mention the benefits of buying the digital/digital deluxe version once in the video. Yes its toys to life, and its cool to have those physical toys, but honestly you get a much more complete and better experience with the digital versions. I bought the deluxe for $80 (just $5 more than the physical starter pack) and i have a much larger amount of content than what you got. It definitely makes the price feel more worth it, imo!
@@YoungMenace7 Yeah i struggled with the decision too. I realllllly wanted that arwing :'( but i feel like my money was better spent digitally. And besides, i figure in a few months you might find these toys marked down at a used game store or something, so i might just get my arwing used if i can find it.
I mean, I've absolutely felt this exact way the entire time I've been watching videos about this game... I think I've come to the conclusion I'm going to buy a Star Fox pack and the digital deluxe version. I mean his ship pack is at most $20, so $100 vs like $250 or so for all extra packs and weapons you'd need... I don't like digital either, but I had to but super Mario party digital cause I got it for $36 the night before it released, but I have more physical games in my collection than I do digital (not counting little indie games), but a few digital never hurt, and it's just a much better value seriously...
@@sethkauffman9915 unfortunately, the star fox ship is not sold outside of the starter pack.. Probably to avoid confusing Ps4 and Xbox consumers. Makes the choice even more difficult :(
Your joke reaction to the star fox announcement was my ACTUAL reaction, that made me laugh pretty good both back when you first did that video, and now, so thank you
Alien Frequency it’s probably because Ubisoft paid for all these reviews. I’m actually interested in this game but I am also hesitant, ironically, because of the Star Fox content (I didn’t have any systems growing up). I’m glad there’s a digital version because I’m not into the toy aspect: my switch is my toy. I don’t need other accoutrement
@@The_Gnome_Chomskee do you know for sure that ubi paid for all those reviews? Thats a big assumption considering there's plenty of reviews from different sources.
You don't 'have' to use the toys. There's some version of the game you can buy that has everything unlocked (the digital version perhaps?) As for reviewers being paid; the ones I watch received a review copy, but they weren't "paid" cash.
Tony Jenn dude that is how advertising and marketing have always worked. If there is a buck to be made it will be made, damn the consequences. Cigarettes, for example, used to be prescribed in the United States as medicine, many doctors paid to imply they were healthy. There are literally seven media companies in the United States. Do I have to connect the dots further? If so it may take awhile and you’ll have to read some old books.
@@AlienFrequency I'd be wary of any RUclips reviewers who receive free copies of games, some are legit but there's alot of chance for 'influence' from devs.
Just finished the story and I'm working on the exploration end game stuff. I'm enjoying myself but it just makes me wish for a fully fledged assassin's Creed on the system
Attention: If you are thinking about picking up the switch version with Fox and the Arwing, a lot of stores like Target have it on sale for $30 instead of $75
I honestly don't have the problem with the graphics, it looks fine to me. Also, you shouldn't apologize for liking Starfox adventures. It's a good game just not up to the standards of Rare's other games up to that point (it's definitely as good or better than anything they've done since) and was the first Starfox game that changed things up a bit in terms of gameplay so people are overly harsh on it
Pretty sure he's being intentionally awkward for humorous effect. Smart people get it. Others miss the point and think it's weird. I've gone through this my whole life lol. Btw, the word cringe is played out bro.
got it digitally on a half off sale (which put it at retail price for normal games i guess). It wasn't bad, played through it in a couple days when I had a lung infection. It has huge potential, the fighter parts in space plays great. unfortunately, it has alot of glaring problems. All the outlaw bases up in space are cut-paste, same fight, same enemies, same type of turrets in the same spots for all dozen or so bases, with identical interiors with (i am pretty sure) identical placement of mines. even organic pickup placements are cut and paste for the most part. if you check, all the plants growing on the plains are always in pairs of 2, with identical distance from each other across all plants across all planets. elements introduced on the first planet never comes back anywhere else, its introduced then disposed of, the progress is mainly grind-building after a little while. if you look closer, even alot of the animals are reskinned copy-pastes between planets. come on My starfox storyline bugged and became unplayable without starting a new game. It was not a bad game, I did have fun with it, but it could have been so much more. It is sad to see that such a potentially great game with such great polish is also so lazily made in gameplay and world building, especially with the insane price Ubi demanded for it just to get to play it with all the weapons. Which, if you don't get, you can't even access large portions of the game and rewards.
It would be awesome to have an official star fox game with an open world like star link in the lylat system, exploring all the planet and protecting base from andross army, the apparoid and star wolf.
Two things missing: 1) your character never comes out of the ship to explore smaller areas that your ship cannot access (like buildings), and... 2) You never go INTO the planet itself. With those things, it would be awesome!
See what Nintendo is trying to make the Star Fox team look more heavily animated and add more space work with other humans and even a large galaxy to explore its going away from the original galaxy to explore something more with a powerful exploration it may not have the same ship fighting but the feeling of new and a movie feeling can be pretty good.
I really want more modern star fox games. It's really nostalgic to see the characters again, and I wish there could be a star fox only nintendo switch game. I doubt Nintendo would do that, but possibly idk.
I feel like people are only hard on this game because it's "cool to hate Ubisoft". Do I like everything they make? No! I haven't enjoyed Assassin's Creed since 2. But Starlink is a genuinely good game that DOESN'T need Star Fox in it to succeed. I'll admit I like the Star Fox content but it would still be a good game without.
I also don't get the Ubi bashing, they crank out a lot of great games. Not all are gems, sure! I also love starlink, still play it these days. Btw did you play any of the recent AC games? Because imho they made a strong comeback with Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla (though the latter two don't focus on Assassins much besides the story set in the present).
I love how many people keep saying that Ubisoft should make a star fox game and their only example is starlink a game that doesn't play anything like star fox xD
I am adoring the game. Actually bought two extra ship sets too... wtf. Not even just the starfox stuff. Iys sad to see people including you just ignore the rest of the game surrounding it, its aqesome
If you download the digital version it comes with alot more stuff than the starter pack for $20 cheaper i believe 12 weapons, 6 ships, but i found myself just using the combo that comes with the starter pack.
hey hi there, irl Fox McCloud here; gunna change my username soon but it’s ok, anyways although 64 was great in reason of console working with game, there hasn’t been a starfox game that has been true to the og formula (64 based from nes+snes prev entries) until starlink. in the canon timeline, 64 is mainly a nesHD version, and it ends on Command. i prefer to think either it’s a “some time after” sequel of zero where they go off to dilly dally and not retire but do jobs without pressure or it’s a “whole other realm” type thing like mm+oot. but also it’s fun to let the imagination go when thinking about canon of sLink :) however the gameplay although limited is by far more freedom with flying freely AND as much of an open world feel as provided. the feeling of guiding on planets after entering atmosphere is amazing (you can stall out and crash lol) and the boost into the storm clouds where that dark oil type rig is……. OOOO MMM CHEFS🤌KISS🤌 final statement: we may never get another Nintendo-dev’d sf game because we all know how they give their B class *still coveted* franchises to other devs for them to have mostly privilege and less intrusive response so 1. it’s close if not better, 2. it gives me more and asks me less than Zero will, and 3. the graphical world they made is astounding. you can’t tell me those voice clips are NOT better than 64’s. im with you there but like, cmon man……. *sorry for the long ass wiki😅thank you so much for reading🦊*
I think the scale thing with the grass and such is kind of intentional to represent the toys-to-life aspect. Like the toy you have on your mount is to scale to the ingame model. Although if that's the case the planets and everything else is also realllly reallly tiny. Like if the whole game world would fit onto a soccer field.
well I got Starlink a couple years ago and 10 year old me thought it was boring because I was more of a Minecraft/terraria guy back then now I need to find it and play it again to actually complete the story
If I have to spend money on all the little toys to show Nintendo there is an interest in StarFox still, that's cool with me. I'll buy all those extra toys after I beat the game the first time - to play on the hardest difficulty.
The ps4 digital deluxe version of the game is on sale at the moment. You pay around 44€ which is a very good deal in my opinion. I think the game is real fun and beautifully made. The only problem I had was the price but now it's worth it's money for sure!
The toy to life thing wasn't a problem for me since I purchased the digital version along with the weapons and dlc. I will purchase all future dlc for this game. 😋
Yeah, challenging action games usually get little to no love esp from Nintendo fans. It's my most hyped 2019 game so far. Love the Armored Core series.
Honestly, for anyone looking to buy this game strictly for Star Fox, I'd say it's not worth it. If you're looking for the on-rails type shooter that you fell in love with back when Star Fox 64 released, this ain't it. Maybe Panzer Dragoon will show up on Switch (unlikely). Maybe Nintendo added Fox and crew into the Switch version of Starlink because they're planning on releasing a TRUE Star Fox game sometime in the next year or two. Who really knows. I'm just saying, as a Star Fox game, this won't scratch your itch and you'll have to wait for either of the two games to MAYBE release on Switch sometime in the future (although Panzer probably won't happen). BUT, if you're looking for a Ubisoft styled open world (and I know there are a lot of fans of these types of games, me included), with space/planet exploration and dogfighting in space, then this is the game for you. It's expansive, although the planets are all somewhat similar. As someone else said in a review, if you've seen on planet, you've seen them all. Like each planet has exactly the same stuff to do and it's almost set up the exact same way. Yes, the colors may be different, different fauna and flora, but zipping by at like 1000 mph, you're really not going to notice anything else other than the horizon. It's repetitive, but this is what I wanted in the original release of No Man's Sky. And I feel like I've finally got my hands on a solid space exploration game in Starlink. It's No Man's Sky mixed with Far Cry/Assassins Creed mixed with The Clone Wars (2002 Xbox game), mixed with Ace Combat 4 (in space, with extremely loose controls). That's the best way I can put it.
Best way to buy is the $79.99 deluxe digital version that includes all ships, pilots, and weapons. I will snag the Arween and pilots when Gamestop is selling them for $10.
So far liking it a lot. But digital is the way too go. You get most ships, pilots and weapons for the $60 version. And get everything with the$80 deluxe version which is $5 more than the starter pack so digital version is the way too go with this game

Its ubisoft. Your worried about a huge disservice to them?
Animelytical [NPC_02691_STRING_MISSING]
The characters are very bland and nothing stands out about them. If you're saying they're meant to be like Saturday morning cartoon characters then they fail on that level because those characters are usually exaggerated and memorable for that reason. These guys aren't.
LiquidxToxic You’re an idiot if you think ANYONE gets upset at female characters being included in ANY game.
If they have done that it would have been awesome... Some missions on Land or Land Vehicles
The game doesn't look "fantastic" because first of all you're playing on a low powered Switch. The textures are low res and it has some weird normal map pop in or LOD that makes the models look ugly up close. It looks good over all but not great.
yep, looks way better on my TV. Doesn't look as good in handheld mode.
@mazrimalthor - What that guy said.
If Smash Ultimate has a story mode then I hope it'll have these cutscenes.
Same
I almost wouldn't mind someone other than nintendo making the next main line Star Fox game. Ever since 64 it's been reallllllll shaky.
They need Retro to step in and make it.
Platinum games made star fox zero and that game sucked
I think it would've been cool to have incorporated the hover through rings type deal to a random secret boss that would've been nice
Nintendo themselves havent made a core starfox game since 64 though...
Nintendo can actually make the next StarFox game just without Miyamoto cause clearly he can’t think of ways to progress the franchise further than retelling the same story and introducing a forced gimmick (StarFox Zero)
Starfox adventures was an awesome game dude.
Yes! Played it to death as a kid. One of my favorite games to play on the GameCube.
Starfox assault is where it was at!
I just bought it for $10 at Best Buy about a week ago and I’m having a lot of fun with this game. I love it.
I play mostly with Chase. :) She's awesome, Mano!
:) Also I find that owning a Nintendo Switch really opens me to a ton of different Genres :)
yea idfag about starfox and even if I dis, I'd still rather have better graphics and achievements/trophies, so if i buy it, it WONT be for switch.
Secondary effects of weapons is actually pretty cool. Ice can freeze, fire does damage over time, stasis holds enemies in the air, gravity makes targets target's shots loop back on the target, Impact can knock over enemies.
The digital deluxe version with everything is on sale for 40 bucks. 100% worth it
I think it's a good fun game for what it is, it's nowhere near a game of the year contender but if they continue the franchise they could maybe work on the flaws the game has. I'm interested to see what kind of DLC they have planned for this when it comes to story/game play stuff. More missions and story like the starfox addition would be welcome even if it stars the main cast, they could use more fleshing out anyways.
Digital version comes with more ships, guns, and pilots for 60 bucks!
Assault is criminally underrated.
I know, it's probably the best in the series in terms of story and gameplay variety
Agreed. Imo the best in the series.
frigis right?!
If you buy the base game digitally for $60 then you get a whole bunch of pilots, ships, and weapons, including Fox and the Arwing.
Yes.
If you don’t care about the toys, pay the $80 for the digital deluxe version and get all the ships and weapons.
Neo Vali $80 is pretty steep for a mediocre game
@@enjoi0555 This has nothing to do with his point. Also from what i can tell ( from all the reviews that i have shown and read so far)this a good or very good game, not great but no mediocre either.
enjoi0555 true, it’s not a great game. My value comes from getting to play as Star Fox, and watching my 5 yo son getting to be a spaceship and blasting everything, including me...
Ya I was about to comment that literally the digital deluxe edition gives you ALL THE CONTENT. Its five dollars extra then the starter edition
The extra 15 bucks is worth getting the actual ship and a physical copy of the game. Paying more for arguably less is pretty ludicrous.
This game is great and is on sale for 18.99 right now for the digital deluxe version.
Enjoying the game! Yes a little repetitive but still fun and so much customisable content that there should be a great “hours for your money” balance 👍
Got it a year after 2019 for 9.99 at Bestbuy for Black Friday nothing wrong to wait for the right price
You were 12 when Star Fox Adventures came out?
Damn. I was in college when I played it.
old ass u still playing nintendo games
I was......much older than that :-(
@@ROGALLYWORLD The best part about being old is that you can do whatever you fucking want
It actually looks good! I’ll probably pick this up soon
Vsauce Puppet No one cares.
enjoi0555 I do, cause I somewhat like to know if people like the game or are interested in it, so your statement falls apart
Its not a good game
It has microtransactions in it. The game has very clearly been hamstrung to make you pay. Skip it.
I'm having a good time with the game so far. I don't know what's all the fuzz about.
I bought the digital deluxe version, came with every pilot, ship, and weapon (except the retail exclusives) all for only $40. So I was able to 100% every planet.
There’s still a lame K-Mart in my town. Oakdale, Ca. Love your videos man😁
I wish Wolf's ship could be unlocked.
On day one I picked up everything that came out and of course I got the switch version! I am a big into space and our solar system so I knew I would like this game and I was correct it is extremely fun imo!!
Big space fan here too :) Got the game because it was an open world space adventure. Fox was a nice bonus though. :)
I’m having a good time. With the game. Like the ideas of 1. Star Fox and. 2. flying around in a plane, thus having control of a plane. I also think the toys to life will eventually faid which means toys will become Collectable and difficult to find.
I'm addicted to this game. This is must have game if you're on the switch tbh.
Honestly this feels like a proof of concept. I would kill for a new star fox to play like this.
This is one of the first Ubisoft games I'm going to play and one of the first Star Fox games I'm going to play. It's only because the switch is my first real console and Starlink is the only new Star Fox game on the switch.
the best time to get this is when it all goes on sale! got everything out complete for a little over 40 bucks yesterday!
I wish I knew this before I got the physical version
@@YoungMenace7 I'm same as you I buy everything physical but it's like 80 dollars or pounds comapred to a couple of hundred for toys
Makes the choice even more difficult :(
Your joke reaction to the star fox announcement was my ACTUAL reaction, that made me laugh pretty good both back when you first did that video, and now, so thank you
Star Fox 64 says hi.
*Seen*
Nice joke
Star 64, Adventures and Assault all say hi over this shit.
enjoi0555 oh c’mon, have you played the game? I’m sure it’s fun, I was just pointing out that it really can’t be the best star fox game.
by far the most negative review of the Switch version I've seen (not that you were even all 'that' negative)
Spawn Wave should bring back this type of content, rather than just daily game news.
It's a good game just not up to the standards of Rare's other games up to that point (it's definitely as good or better than anything they've done since) and was the first Starfox game that changed things up a bit in terms of gameplay so people are overly harsh on it
When you try to act I cringe but eh it’s still a good video
Oh good, the cringe is the reaction I was looking for.
Really? I found it clever!
I like it , it’s funny
Cringe acting is best acting.
All the outlaw bases up in space are cut-paste, same fight, same enemies, same type of turrets in the same spots for all dozen or so bases, with identical interiors with (i am pretty sure) identical placement of mines. even organic pickup placements are cut and paste for the most part. if you check, all the plants growing on the plains are always in pairs of 2, with identical distance from each other across all plants across all planets.
elements introduced on the first planet never comes back anywhere else, its introduced then disposed of, the progress is mainly grind-building after a little while.
if you look closer, even alot of the animals are reskinned copy-pastes between planets. come on
My starfox storyline bugged and became unplayable without starting a new game.
Ubisoft is the Robin for Nintendo! Dynamic duo!
It would be awesome to have an official star fox game with an open world like star link in the lylat system, exploring all the planet and protecting base from andross army, the apparoid and star wolf.
I'm surprised you didn't mention the Digital Starter Pack comes with more ships, pilots, and weapons than the physical one does.
One thing that's hard to deny, that's some sweet looking eye candy.
I bought this game the day it came out and have been playing it non stop.....are there characters other than Fox?
for some reason this looks very fun to me
$80 gets you the Digital Deluxe version that includes all content. easily the best pack of the game to buy.
Ubisoft hasn't changed, since Buck Bumble
Star Fox Assault is the best Star Fox game in my opinion.
I played the game and thought, this isn’t just a random addition this is great. It feels almost like if they took out the star fox for the main game
I am adoring the game. Actually bought two extra ship sets too... wtf. Not even just the starfox stuff. Iys sad to see people including you just ignore the rest of the game surrounding it, its aqesome
Me, too!! Love this game! Starlink
Bro I've had this game for 2 days and I dont know anyone's name besides the star fox crew
I kinda hope they add more Star Fox characters and ships
If you download the digital version it comes with alot more stuff than the starter pack for $20 cheaper i believe 12 weapons, 6 ships, but i found myself just using the combo that comes with the starter pack.
hey hi there, irl Fox McCloud here; gunna change my username soon but it’s ok, anyways
although 64 was great in reason of console working with game, there hasn’t been a starfox game that has been true to the og formula (64 based from nes+snes prev entries) until starlink. in the canon timeline, 64 is mainly a nesHD version, and it ends on Command. i prefer to think either it’s a “some time after” sequel of zero where they go off to dilly dally and not retire but do jobs without pressure or it’s a “whole other realm” type thing like mm+oot. but also it’s fun to let the imagination go when thinking about canon of sLink :) however the gameplay although limited is by far more freedom with flying freely AND as much of an open world feel as provided. the feeling of guiding on planets after entering atmosphere is amazing (you can stall out and crash lol) and the boost into the storm clouds where that dark oil type rig is……. OOOO MMM CHEFS🤌KISS🤌
final statement: we may never get another Nintendo-dev’d sf game because we all know how they give their B class *still coveted* franchises to other devs for them to have mostly privilege and less intrusive response so 1. it’s close if not better, 2. it gives me more and asks me less than Zero will, and 3. the graphical world they made is astounding. you can’t tell me those voice clips are NOT better than 64’s. im with you there but like, cmon man…….
*sorry for the long ass wiki😅thank you so much for reading🦊*
I know it's a year later and all, but I just wanted to say, I usually play with Chase. She's pretty cool and I really like her abilities.
Saying that this is a Starfox game is like saying that Runbow is a Bit Trip Runner game because is a runner with Commander video in it.
Kmart RIP indeed.
I'm actually pretty sure the one near me (well 20 miles) is still around it's a place of pure sadness.
Thanks for the vid, love the comedic elements that you put into your videos they get me every time :P
I'm loving starlink
well I got Starlink a couple years ago and 10 year old me thought it was boring because I was more of a Minecraft/terraria guy back then now I need to find it and play it again to actually complete the story
My advice, get it when it's on sale. The swith version is limited and drains the battery fast, but playing as Fox is worth it in my opinion.
Starfox Adventures was a fun and underrated game. I was 44 at the time.
My wife bought the switch start kit version of this for 45 pounds in the uk.
Hey, from the future. It’s now £8 down at The Entertainer
If I have to spend money on all the little toys to show Nintendo there is an interest in StarFox still, that's cool with me. I'll buy all those extra toys after I beat the game the first time - to play on the hardest difficulty.
I think its pretty successful given all the features. The retail hook is annoying but its super fun when you have all the gear.
The ps4 digital deluxe version of the game is on sale at the moment. You pay around 44€ which is a very good deal in my opinion. I think the game is real fun and beautifully made. The only problem I had was the price but now it's worth it's money for sure!
I wish each planets prime monster were completely different on each planet & the Nintendo switch version is made to look best in hand-held mode btw.
The toy to life thing wasn't a problem for me since I purchased the digital version along with the weapons and dlc. I will purchase all future dlc for this game. 😋
There is still a k-mart near me but just this week we were told that it will be closing soon
I just moved to a new area and I was baffled there was a Kmart still in operation. It looked so dated but I loved the nostalgia
I almost want this game because I'm impatient for Daemon x Machina

Starfox made me buy it on sale right now
16 dollars
I’m getting the starter kit on Switch for my 33rd birthday, Can’t wait
Best way to buy is the $79.99 deluxe digital version that includes all ships, pilots, and weapons. I will snag the Arween and pilots when Gamestop is selling them for $10.
So far liking it a lot. But digital is the way too go. You get most ships, pilots and weapons for the $60 version. And get everything with the$80 deluxe version which is $5 more than the starter pack so digital version is the way too go with this game
I came across thus game at gamestop on sale for 29.99 from the retail price and I'm loving it so far
5:02 wow John you're throwing *Shaid* at the cast.
Joking aside, I do like some of the characters. Judge and Shaid are among my faves so far ♡
Star Fox Adventures was good though O.O. Sure beats the Star Fox games that came after (up till now i guess)
Funny enough but the base 60$ digital version has at least one of each weapon type. Also the Arewing has built in kinetic blasters.
