A fun simple bolt on became my nightmare. Not of fault of the manufacturer but it seemed like whoever installed it before me or even at the plant where it was built. It was forced in. I had to battle the eyelid of the rod since it wouldn't come out. To say the least, the threads got damaged, and I had to do my best to re thread them. But the damage was already done towards the new part since I thought it was just dirty stopping the rest of the rotation. I made it work for what I had. In the future I will have to order new parts all around.
The takeaway from this was a beautiful set up that I could not be happier about. Not sure what it is but the new rod seems more agile and responsive. Then again, I am not surprised as Joker Machine has some really top-notch products.

I found when I did mine if you dont treat the exposed threads at the ends they will start to rust after a rain. Once adjusted you can spray them black or with some kind of rust preventative.

I will have to do that with the new one. Disappointed with the eye lids. But for now, I’m content lol I appreciate your experience and advice!

You could have also measured the entire length before removing the eyelids just in case you forget the number of turns.

Is removing the eyelits necessary? I just unscrewed my old shif rod off and screw both sides of the JM shift rod at the same time . Seems to be working fiine .

I just followed the instructions and went with it.
I’m with you on this one, I don’t think it was necessary
