I think this phone is for the kind of people ( like me ) who wants a very good camera ( the x3 zoom is a big deal in this price range ), doesn't play that much or doesn't play heavy games so a high-end CPU is not necessary, wants overall a good battery durability and a very good screen. So a big battery, good photography phone, that right now has already lowered in cost so it is an absolute deal
I've been rocking the Samsung Galaxy A72 for 3 years from its launch and 2 years since I owned and used it. I still couldn't fathom how this was able to survive one repair (due to a problem in the bottom board) and 3 plastic back replacements. The performance seems to, at times, plummet, the 90Hz experience is starting to fall back, and the battery is slowly degrading after so many charges and discharges. But cow, the three out of four cameras (I repeat, 3, emphasising on it; wide, ultrawide, telephoto) are still going strong even though newer "techniques" on newer phones already exists. I am indeed starting to see a plan on upgrading to the newest A55 this year, as One UI 6 will be the last ever software upgrade for this phone, and it'd be interesting to see what it'll feel like when "upgrading" to an Exynos-powered phone as opposed to a Snapdragon-powered beast, even at cheap.
To be honest I've come across a lot of RUclipsrs who kinda hate on this device. I've tested it against Galaxy S20 FE and it doesn't fall behind at all. I mean, AT ALL. The performance is super stellar, it doesn't even flinch. Yes, it could have been better but this is overall maybe one of the best rounded smartphones out there so far, which will get even better with updates that Samsung is currently rolling out. I've read on several forums that A52 got OIS for all video modes, plus selfie camera video, which is probably coming to A72 as well. 4 years of continuous updates for A52 and A72 make them incredibly appealing. I'd say that whoever wants to buy it, just buy it. Both are great, and you won't make a mistake. Anyway, this video was refreshing to see after unnecessary hate from others, and a really on point review. Thanks man and congratulations on 200k Subs, well deserved.
I have both the A71 and A72...quite similar in many aspects except for the battery size,ingress protection for dust and water,refresh rate,physical appearance and feel,macro camera...A72 is an upgrade over the A71 on the aspects mentioned.
How do you like it so far? I have the Galaxy a71 for probably a year maybe not quite, but it's been a great phone for me I have mine hooked up thru mint mobile it's like T-Mobile just cheaper lol. Hope u like your 📱 dude👍👍💯
If you want a Samsung mid range phone you get the A72 for bigger screen, bigger battery and better camera. Or the A52 for faster processor and 5g. Can't go wrong with either one of them as they both are amongst the best mid-rangers you can buy. Simples !!

Only my glass screenprotector cracked a lill bit a week ago, luckily not my screen. But still frustrating... Please protect your A72 with a case and so, because that is still lacking with Samsung. Simple sturdy build quality. This even lacks in the Xcover models....
A72 is pathetic for 2021. The processor "upgrade" from 730 to 720g....10% upgrade? The camera marginally better than A52 5G? The price is almost the same. The chipset of a52 5g is obviously better. And s20FE kills all, not to mention other brands who are getting cheaper too

Watched it from my A72. Bought it at 480 Euros with Galaxy buds + for free. Coming from a Galaxy A70. I was really impressed with the battery (i don't care about charging it even at 15%), by the refresh rate i never imagined it was playing such a role, the camera is an enormous improvement from the A70, and of course performance is great and the sound (very very high quality sound and loud). I ll add the waterproof in this and yeah i can say i am overly happy with the purchase i made. The A72 is worst than the A52 5g in terms of specs but in battery compartment it kills and it that is the main reason i wanted this one instead of the A52 5g. A device that really has so many things to give and works perfectly. The fingerprint with some tweeks in the settings becomes veeery fast and accurate so i literally have nothing i did not enjoy so far. Great review once again.
how were you able to fix the fingerprint reader in the settings? My A72 comes in tomorrow im so excited but have been hearing about the issues with the scanner not working properly.
I love my A72. Its everything i needed. 8gb ram and 256 storage is enough to make the phone smooth and plus the snapdragon in my phone is actually the 732G not the 720g
I have the base model 6gb 128gb which has the 720G, but as we can see we now know that the 8gb 256gb has an upgrade in not only the ram and storage but the processor too.
@@asadfarraj i actually dnt care too much on the element of 5G or 4G ,,,however the 5G phone will come up with upgraded software ,maybe higher refresh rates and a stronger processor which will be a bigger advantage.

I feel like by this time, Most of the buyers have already bought the A52 since no matter what, in terms of price and value for money, A52 is more reasonable than A72. So I think if you did the same "Long Term" review with A52, it would have been better. Tho I don't know if you're already planning to do one 😅

I have one, but i bought it out of necessity on holiday in a brick and mortar store because my xcover 4s was really dying from a pool accident (repaired itself tho eventually haha). I am really bummed out that it didn't hold out a little longer because now the a52s is available here for only 10 euros more than what i paid for the a72. The phone is a mayor upgrade, good battery life and decent durable build quality. All in all a little frustrated that i didn't wait for the a52s, but what did i know 2 months ago. The a52 5g nor the 4g was available in austria at the moment due to the chip shortages. But i'm ok with it. Costs : 419 euros, but had no good midrange choice. A32, s20fe (poooh that one was 514 euros)

I still like my A72 after 1 year and compared to the new s23 the specs are very close plus I get a FM Radio and more megapix front and rear cameras. It's a keeper.

I am looking for a new midrange phone . My non negotiable requirements are , expandable memory , ip rating , headphone jack and a competent camera. The A72 is about the only game in town for me. As far as I can see it's only competition is a new , unopened box , S10+ that I can get for around the same price or a little less.
This alongside the A52 might just be the the cleanest looking phone ever. I was looking for a new phone and I was so intrigued with the design that I almost bought it instead of the S20 FE. I had to get the FE because I was looking for the camera and power. But this is such a lovely looking phone.
@@fazalniyazmogral4748 I have never seen or touch the Pixal 4a in real life. I doubt the A72 will match camera prowess of the 4a but overall it's definitely a better phone. More upto date specs, better design for sure, much bigger batteries, versatile cameras, bigger brighter better display, IP67 rating etc. If I had to pick one, I'd definitely pick the A72. A72 just looks and feels absolutely amazing.

Nice review, t=308 that blast of audio clipping at the end of that track, you might want to consider editing with something that shows the audio as a waveform below the image frame, waveform view allows you to spot audio clipping easily and remove it. The only thing I want to more of is how does device X perform in low light shots, burst shots, etc..
I would've looked into the A72 if it were officially available in my vicinity (ie. with official local firmware), but sadly it wasn't the case. Meanwhile the long-term stability and performance is another important factor to consider......
While it's not a bad phone at all, I would question why one would buy the A72 vs the A52 5G...just seems kind of like a phone with questionable purpose in the current Samsung line up...unless the huge 6.7" screen is important to a buyer.
@12:21 --> It's backwards against the DUAL-SIM with the A72: you now have to sacrifice the SD-card slot for DUALSIM. And that's a bummer for business users. A71 has 3 three slots and 100% DualSIM.
@Kookie not sure, they say because not many people use it. But still ... it's a great feature for backup and should be on a phone that costs over 1,000$ ... especially since 512 gb micro SD cards are so cheap
Not just that, dual speakers for that stereo experience you'd previously rarely would have in this priceclass & it even sounding fine is what really does it for me as a A50 user currently. I think I'll still hold off on buying a new phone, but damn if they keep this up competition is going to have a difficult time in a year or 2.
Exactly my thought the moment you started the video, the A52 5G is just the more value choice all things considered. The only real concession with it *could* be the camera(s).
I love this phone. Had the A71 prior and this is a worty successor. You didn't mention that the telephoto lens is not available on the A52 just the A72. The display is bigger at 6.7 and the battery is 5000a I really feel it's the best midranger out there.
Based on what rumors are saying it's expected from Samsung a release of Galaxy A82 this year and basically it will be an A72 with 5G, 120hz display, slightly better chips (processor and graphics) and some few more features. Maybe that's why they didn't release yet because of that.
Why is the color "blue" so different in the video compared with on amazon? Which one should I trust? I am going to buy my Mom A72, and she picked the "blue" when I showed her the color on amazon; now look at the "blue" in the video; I'm just afraid that she is not going to be like it.
@@mikechrist9699 Yes, it's a very good phone but it's a shame of the video stabilisation. It is even worse than that of the M51 which now is not even as smooth as it used to be (Surprisingly) before the Android 11 OneUI 3.1 update and even Galaxy Note 9 video stabilisation is better. This phone comes with OIS for better picture and video stabilization according to Samsung. I don't really understand why basically none one is pointing this out so Samsung is forced to fix it ASAP.
I just don't get why Samsung always just doesn't care about performance? We've got better processors than the exynos from last year but still for $400 I don't want the performance that's worse than a $150 phone
@@fazalniyazmogral4748It's a good phone for me. In Germany the prices for the A70 are pretty stable. It costs now the same as it costed 6 months after the release. So In Germany the A70 & A71 cost almost the same. If in Germany it would be much cheaper then I would say yes. Only thing I relaly like is the wahterdrop notch. That's nicer than the punch hole. But the A72 has IP 67, 500 mAh more, a better camera, a bright display, better processor.... . If you can buy the A70 much cheaper go for it. Else wait few months and get the A72....

It's a really great phone. But I care about performance, so this phone isn't for me. I have an iPhone and it's an amazing phone. I bought Galaxy Buds Plus instead of AirPods Pro because it's hella expensive (around $370), and the Buds Plus are way cheaper ($127). If they improved their performance, I would buy their phone. Great review btw :)
I still think 5G is bullshit for most of the users of cellphones. If you already have 150 Mbit speed at 4G what do you need 5G for? Downloading big things i do with my computer at 500 Mbit at home
732>720>730 720g is better than 730 and 730g. But in reality they're pretty close and you won't really see much of a difference in real life in day to day usage.
You'll probably see real world tests it's a faster processor. The A52 processor for example generates more heat and can suffer from throttling. Not so with the A72, it runs cool meaning it can run at ceiling limit all of the time. A throttled A52 is slower than a cool A72. Theoretical speeds simply fall apart in real world scenarios.

12-14hrs of sot I highly doubt that considering I only get 6-7hrs of sot an my A52s with only a slightly smaller battery and no heavy use. 12-14hrs sot is iphone 13 Pro Max territory.

I don't know why, before i used 720G on realme 7 pro. And sometimes i experienced stutter, lagging, especially when playing PES2021. with A72, this phone is fluid. I never experience stutter with this phone on game. Even though, YES, on day to day usage, sometimes it lag or freeze for 2-3 second. But it's rare. Why? Is samsung have better overall built quality?

This alongside the A52 might just be the the cleanest looking phone ever. I was looking for a new phone and I was so intrigued with the design that I almost bought it instead of the S20 FE. I had to get the FE because I was looking for the camera and power. But this is such a lovely looking phone.

@@fazalniyazmogral4748 I have never seen or touch the Pixal 4a in real life. I doubt the A72 will match camera prowess of the 4a but overall it's definitely a better phone. More upto date specs, better design for sure, much bigger batteries, versatile cameras, bigger brighter better display, IP67 rating etc. If I had to pick one, I'd definitely pick the A72. A72 just looks and feels absolutely amazing.

Nice review, t=308 that blast of audio clipping at the end of that track, you might want to consider editing with something that shows the audio as a waveform below the image frame, waveform view allows you to spot audio clipping easily and remove it. The only thing I want to more of is how does device X perform in low light shots, burst shots, etc..

I would've looked into the A72 if it were officially available in my vicinity (ie. with official local firmware), but sadly it wasn't the case. Meanwhile the long-term stability and performance is another important factor to consider......

It's a strange phone for sure, the upper tier A Series phone should be 5g. I got a great deal on A52 5g and very happy with it overall.
While it's not a bad phone at all, I would question why one would buy the A72 vs the A52 5G...just seems kind of like a phone with questionable purpose in the current Samsung line up...unless the huge 6.7" screen is important to a buyer.
the battery drains a lot on the a52s 5g all those specs won't mean shit if it's always low on battery backup
@12:21 --> It's backwards against the DUAL-SIM with the A72: you now have to sacrifice the SD-card slot for DUALSIM. And that's a bummer for business users. A71 has 3 three slots and 100% DualSIM.

I really wish I waited for the water and dust resistance. I'm jealous of the people who buy this phone and take it near water.
Not just that, dual speakers for that stereo experience you'd previously rarely would have in this priceclass & it even sounding fine is what really does it for me as a A50 user currently.
I think I'll still hold off on buying a new phone, but damn if they keep this up competition is going to have a difficult time in a year or 2.

I love this phone. Had the A71 prior and this is a worty successor. You didn't mention that the telephoto lens is not available on the A52 just the A72. The display is bigger at 6.7 and the battery is 5000a I really feel it's the best midranger out there.

Based on what rumors are saying it's expected from Samsung a release of Galaxy A82 this year and basically it will be an A72 with 5G, 120hz display, slightly better chips (processor and graphics) and some few more features. Maybe that's why they didn't release yet because of that.

@@mikechrist9699 Yes, it's a very good phone but it's a shame of the video stabilisation. It is even worse than that of the M51 which now is not even as smooth as it used to be (Surprisingly) before the Android 11 OneUI 3.1 update and even Galaxy Note 9 video stabilisation is better. This phone comes with OIS for better picture and video stabilization according to Samsung. I don't really understand why basically none one is pointing this out so Samsung is forced to fix it ASAP.

12-14 hours of screen on time? Wow! My A52 5G gets about 7.5-8 hours with 120hz enabled. Still good, but not as good as the A72!
My A72 really has amazing battery life. I used it every two days and I only charge it only until 90%. I never tried reaching 100%.

@@fazalniyazmogral4748It's a good phone for me. In Germany the prices for the A70 are pretty stable. It costs now the same as it costed 6 months after the release. So In Germany the A70 & A71 cost almost the same.
If in Germany it would be much cheaper then I would say yes.
Only thing I relaly like is the wahterdrop notch. That's nicer than the punch hole.
But the A72 has IP 67, 500 mAh more, a better camera, a bright display, better processor.... .
If you can buy the A70 much cheaper go for it. Else wait few months and get the A72....

Why they downgrade the processor still baffles me. If they did have a 5G variant I would definitely buy it over thr 4G model.
You'll probably see real world tests it's a faster processor. The A52 processor for example generates more heat and can suffer from throttling.
Not so with the A72, it runs cool meaning it can run at ceiling limit all of the time.
A throttled A52 is slower than a cool A72.
Theoretical speeds simply fall apart in real world scenarios.

I don't know why, before i used 720G on realme 7 pro. And sometimes i experienced stutter, lagging, especially when playing PES2021.
with A72, this phone is fluid. I never experience stutter with this phone on game. Even though, YES, on day to day usage, sometimes it lag or freeze for 2-3 second. But it's rare.
