Shane, many thanks for your in-depth review. I really appreciate the effort you took to point out the pros and cons of this excellent Samsung phone. I looked at some reviews as I always do before buying. Yours was easily the best among them and cleared whatever questions I had. After this video I made up my mind. Then went and bought myself a new phone and I'm quite happy with it. My last Sony Xperia phone has given me great service for the past 2 years. But as expected, I have now ran out of internal storage and my battery is gone. I was looking for 6 GB ram phone preferably released this year. The Samsung A52 in Awesome Blue came around at a perfect time for me.
I have just ordered it today. I will surly share you my experience after 1 month use... But, with your review I feel it is going to be a value for money phone...
I always wanted an iPhone until I compared the A 52 with an iPhone 12,A 52 has more RAM ,better battery and much more... I have had mine for a year , It's a very good phone
The battery life is fantastic and the option to have it stop charging at 85% so as not to damage it and to extend the life of the battery is a sweet touch. The speakers are really great. I used to Bluetooth my audio books to a small JBL speaker while going to bed. The speakers on this are so good that now I just listen to the book through the phone .
I'm from New Zealand where the iPhone 12 costs $2,750.. so this A52 at $600. is a beautiful deal.. got mine a month ago and bought a glass screen protector and case for it so I ain't gotta worry bout the "downside" to this phone..

That might prove to be a downgrade in performance with the snapdragon 750 being the chip of choice. I would make the assumption that your 10e is actually faster then this new mid tier phone
*_Currently moving all my data from my Samsung Galaxy S10e 128GB to my brand new Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G 256GB using Samsung Smart Switch. And that will replace my Wife's S7 Edge 128GB which was also originally mine._*
Got a Oneplus 8T and the A52 5G to compare and it was close. The lack of SD card, no IP rating, poorer screen, poorer speakers, worse battery life, and poorer software updates (already behind a month!) made the A52 5G the winner for me. The 8T has raw speed and RAM but otherwise is not very well rounded like the A52 5G is.
isn't the battery life the same for both phones? 4,500 mAh. I think the fast- charging feature for Oneplus 8T is better compared to Samsung's A52, not sure about the speakers and software updates though.
I am grateful for your comprehensive reviews about this phone, I had an A03s but it wasn't the perfect device for me, I swapped it out for an excellent amount and bought this A52s 5g 🤩🤩, which I am writing to you through, and I would like to say how happy I am with this device A very big difference between it and the device Moving on.. especially in the software and the camera is very excellent 👌 👍 😀
Now I have an A52. I am extremely pleased with it. The display is fabulous. I run it in a dark mode and it is extremely clear. I do not like smartphones. For years I was quite happy with a Windows 8 phone, and failed with Android when I had additional phones. Well, the Android on the A52 is very much OK.
You haven't removed the protective plastic film from the screen yet that's why it scratched. Yes, it has very thin plastic covering the screen and it's hard to notice it.
The film scratched the glass or the film was what got scratched? I saw in another review someone else mentioned his scratched as well even though he only ever set it down on his bed or mousepad.
I had S20 FE 5G...I switched to A52 5G. . . 95% of the tasks are fine! both are Gorilla Glass 3...that's why the screen is so delicate!correction... A52 5G Is G. G. 5!
Having bought the A52S 5G just a week ago, I can report that there was no case supplied in the box, neither was there a screen protector - maybe one of the reasons there was a reduction in price . . . The only other issues (so far) for me are that I couldn't find a Thai keyboard option and had to install an app, and the usual "dual SIM" actually means a single SIM if you want an SD card. My old Wileyfox phones had inbuilt keyboard language options, and the Swift 2 also had 2 SIM slots AND and SD slot.
Only thing missing from a52s version is fm radio. Other than that, go for the a52s. I have been using my a52 5g for a year now and it's superb. It really has everything. Only thing missing was a bit more CPU power but now that's fixed with a52s (same price) - except for fm radio support (which a52 5g has)
Okay from all the I fo I can gather up online this phone is the best midrange phone to price especially if you can afford extra stuff like Bluetooth for convenience not to mention the processor was ahead of its time beats some 2023 model midranges in rankings, only downside is update
Considering there's no evidence that even a very high SAR value is even slightly harmful to humans, I wouldn't be that worried. The EU have set an upper safe limit of 2.00 w/kg and this phone is well within the limits, but those limits are only set just in case, there's no evidence that things beyond those limits is harmful.
Bought it, love it. Great phone. Only one thing is missing. Wireless charging, but for this price, can't expect that. Everything else is top notch. Highly recommended 👌

Good review. My only disappointment is the 4k 30fps and 1080p 60fps video recording. The quality is good but the stability is bad especially for a phone that has been promoted to have OIS for more stable pictures and videos. I'm glad you mentioned that because hardly anyone is saying it.
@@ShaneSymonds I'm still waiting for Samsung to release a software update to fix it as it should because the 4K 30fps video stabilisation is worse than on the M51 which is actually not bad.
@@bruno2480 That was my hope. I thought it would be fixed with the April or May update but nothing. Losing hope now. The problem is that hardly anyone is talking about it to bring Samsung's attention to this issue and get it to fix it which is a shame.
The bonkers part is that when you compare the fov to even flagship Samsung devices, you'll see that there's an absurd amount of room to work with for some hybrid stabilisation solution (if it's not just a simple bug), & especially for EIS @4k30. OIS work well for photos, but the video situation is certainly getting on my nerves a bit, and worse still is that those responsible for getting fixes like this on the priority list @Samsung might actually not realize just how bad it is cuz of many reviewers doing a bad job at highlighting the area. What's happening here with stabilisation has happened a few times in the past with flagship devices, but I was used to them fixing it with the day one patch or within 2 weeks, tops(always bothered me that very very few reviewers noticed that pattern over the yrs, and came back to a stabilisation bug a day to 2weeks after launch day), so it's surprising to see that we're this far in with zero progress on the issue.
I have had an a32 5g prior to getting this because the performance just didn't cut it for me, but it had almost the same build to it and I never had it in a case. it survived falling of my motorcycle and only got a dent in it, while the a52 picks up scratches way easier and I felt the need to buy a screen protector after it got a huge scratch from just brushing against a table. crack resistant glass isn't really better because its so much softer.
Initial price was $500, then given $75 discount. Would have loved less. Took two weeks to arrive. DIDN'T come with a clear case. Awaiting one I ordered on line
i have the 4g version its good too. having 750g and 120hz is really cool but in my country we dont get the 5g version sadly. 90hz is still better than 60 but 750g is better for gaming.

Quite torn between this one and the Xperia 10 III. Battery life on the Xperia seems a lot better. I wonder if the high refresh rate screen is really that important. Also, does the A52 5G support USB C Video Out (via displayport HDMI or MHL?)

I have 1 problem with A52 5G. On a hot day with direct sunlight on the display, after 5 minutes using a GPS navigation while walking the screen gets very dark. After few minutes of cool down in my pocket the brightness is again at its maximum. Only in this situation I have this problem. In any other cases the screen is perfect. Is this normal behaviour of an Amoled screen? This is my first phone with this type of screen.
It's normal. This happens when the phone gets warm so it automatically lowers the brightness to keep the temperature relatively cool. Amoled has nothing to do with that though.

I just got mine August 4th (my S9 fell and the screen cracked) Today, August 9th my A32 fell on the ground and now I have 2 hairline cracks from the top of the phone, extending to the left. I am not OK... 😂
I also can not find my video editor.. My S9 had this option.
hi lamb
I bought this phone two days ago I love the camera and everything about it ❤
How much did it cost for you?
This is definitely my favorite phone this year so far. Stopped using my iPhone and went back to it recently
what iPhone you used before
How is it thinking between iPhone and it
like a iPhone 11 or it
@@lyricalfriendsranzzyandpla4388 if price is a issue the 11 is a good choice but if money isn't a issue either wait for this year's I phone or the 12 because of the oled screen and better design
@@ianwest1624 let me ask what iPhone did you use as your phone before the samsung
@@lyricalfriendsranzzyandpla4388 I had the iPhone 12. There were no issues with it but I prefer the freedom of android software
Thanks for the great review! Thinking of this phone but still have qualms regarding the camera as well as PWM display flickering.
Don't. They're great
Tha cameras R awesum on dis phone. Front cam: 32 mp, rear cam: 64 mp (HD & UHD) 4k video
I can say that I had the original a52 and pwm flickering did not bother my eyes like the iPhone 12 max did
Shane, many thanks for your in-depth review.
I have the S9 and I've had it pretty much since it came out. But this looks like a nice option for me to save money.
I'm still rocking an old S7E and seriously wondering if it's worth paying heaps for a top of the range phone now.
@Emma You have the s9... but your phone has been lost for ages... That make's NO FUC*ING SENSE.
If I hadn't of bought a Pixel 4a, I definitely would have bought and A52. Great value.
Actually 4a is better than a52, you can't know because you don't use all these features or maybe you do, i recommend you to keep the phone
I have Motorola G for 3 years now. I need a new phone that turbo charges cuz I hate waiting. It's all about fast charging for me.
Sorry but, there's no hadn't of anything . Hadn't bought, should have / should've , never should of, shouldn't of...that is just stupidity.
Would you recommend it after a year's use? Am thinking of getting one for my son.
*_Currently rocking the Samsung Galaxy S10e as my daily driver and thought of the S20 FE 5G as my next upgrade until this A52 5G was made official. Can't wait to have this. I hope I find the 256GB available locally where I am._*
I got one with 8 gega ram
That might prove to be a downgrade in performance with the snapdragon 750 being the chip of choice. I would make the assumption that your 10e is actually faster then this new mid tier phone
@@Jacob-qn1um How about the A52s 5G?
4,500 mAh. I think the fast- charging feature for Oneplus 8T is better compared to Samsung's A52, not sure about the speakers and software updates though.
battery life and size are very different, optimizing software and hardware can make a big difference in energy consumption.
"Close" huh
Always put a case on my phone 📱 have concrete flooring in my flat so a case is a must 👌
You haven't removed the protective plastic film from the screen yet that's why it scratched. Yes, it has very thin plastic covering the screen and it's hard to notice it.
Hard to notice unless you look at the front facing camera.
The film scratched the glass or the film was what got scratched? I saw in another review someone else mentioned his scratched as well even though he only ever set it down on his bed or mousepad.
True, you cant scratch an A52, even my A12 I have been using it without any protection for 3months, no scratches nothing.
I had S20 FE 5G...I switched to A52 5G. . . 95% of the tasks are fine! both are Gorilla Glass 3...that's why the screen is so delicate!correction... A52 5G Is G. G. 5!
A52 5G is Gorrila Glass 5.
Why would switch to an inferior phone though? Did you have at least some cashback?
@@Swaggerfam86 not at all

@@Swaggerfam86 actually you're right... S20 FE 5G WAS G. G. 3 AND VERY delicate... I read A52 was also gg3 but isn't!
Only thing missing was a bit more CPU power but now that's fixed with a52s (same price) - except for fm radio support (which a52 5g has)
Thanks. I'm looking at A52S
really didnt expect the disc golf scenes, rockin!
Another incredible review mate! Good job!
Thanks Sunhay!
superb video... straight to the case...no cringe jokes... mostly focus on the product and not the reviewer.... 10/10
A great phone, considering the price of course. Really loving this device. Your reviews are great.❤️💜
Okay from all the I fo I can gather up online this phone is the best midrange phone to price especially if you can afford extra stuff like Bluetooth for convenience not to mention the processor was ahead of its time beats some 2023 model midranges in rankings, only downside is update

How can i buy this??
I am using normal a52 (4g version) its a great phone ❤ love this device.. & watching this video on my a52..
Is the SAR value of A52 5g high to be worried? (Head- 1.05 w/kg body- 1.42 w/kg)
whats that?
The A52s just released uses newer chipset and has less SARS.
Correction.. there's no 2x optical zoom on this phone @ 6:02
do the 4g and 5g versions have any differences other than the 5g module?
www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=10631&idPhone2=10641 you can check it here if you want to see the difference.
Yeah there are differences, a52 5g has a faster chipset and 120 hz refresh rate compared to the normal a52
A52 4G has a 90hz refresh rate screen and a bit inferior of a processor but other than that they are pretty similar
I just buy it and already love it.
Bought it, love it. Great phone. Only one thing is missing. Wireless charging, but for this price, can't expect that. Everything else is top notch.
Highly recommended 👌
I might get a galaxy A52 next week Friday should I get it It has 120hz and I gonna root it

Whats the different we get in 5g and 4g from this model?
A52 5G has a Snap 750G and the A52 4G has a 720G
There's like a 10% power gab between them
I'm on the fence on getting this phone or waiting for the pixel 5a what do you suggest ?
Wait
It depends on what you want in a phone
@@space0015 why do say to wait
4a was good for its software and cameras. So if you like that then wait.
@@space0015 yes you're right also I think the 5a will be a bit smaller than the A52 5g and also lighter what about performance which one do think will do better? How does the front cam look in low light? And does the front camera capture the colors realistically? I've had issues with my front cam on the A12
Love the review but missing those live wallpapers
Disc golf video!!! Automatic thumbs up from me. How does this phone hold up on the course?
Good review. My only disappointment is the 4k 30fps and 1080p 60fps video recording. The quality is good but the stability is bad especially for a phone that has been promoted to have OIS for more stable pictures and videos. I'm glad you mentioned that because hardly anyone is saying it.
Definitely room for improvement in video recording on these midrange phones for sure
@@ShaneSymonds I'm still waiting for Samsung to release a software update to fix it as it should because the 4K 30fps video stabilisation is worse than on the M51 which is actually not bad.
@@Soto-Tech2020 Hopefully the software update should help🤞
As much as I'd love to get one, the US pricing does not carry over to Australia. Here they are way overpriced at AU$749, or US$554 😱
With current conversion rates that’s about the same, which is better than normal. Saying that, it is expensive for a mid range phone
I have been looking at the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G for two weeks now. I want it very bad. I'm going to get it when I get paid from my job next week.

Quite torn between this one and the Xperia 10 III. Battery life on the Xperia seems a lot better. I wonder if the high refresh rate screen is really that important. Also, does the A52 5G support USB C Video Out (via displayport HDMI or MHL?)

Great review. I'm looking at A52S here in UK
Good Review thanks. Delighted with my A52 5G, impressed with the battery life too. However SAMSUNG have let SAMSUNG Team down and their clients, by supplying a pathetically SHORT charging -wire. Penny-wise, Pound foolish....
This phone kicks serious ass I love it more than the s21. I like functionality over speed.
That screen damage is concerning.
Right? Like how do shorts scratch a screen?
it's the protective plastic film on the screen, not the screen itself.
I bought this phone & am loving it!
