I thought the same until I found out they make 3.5mm to type-C cords. I have no idea how it works, but you can still use an aux cord in your car but you plug the other end into your charging port instead of a separate jack. So I guess if you want to charge and listen to music at the same time you can't, but otherwise it really isn't a big deal.
Just upgraded to the A52 from my 6yr old Galaxy S7(which is a bulletproof phone) and WOW!!...almost picked up a S21,but not a fan of NO SD CARD support...paid 400 for mine and so far,so good...build quality is on point too...cameras are on par with flagship models, despite what other reviews may say....A52 5G is a great phone

@@mikekopisz1227 Yes the a52s is slightly better.. I too am looking for a new phone and that is an option but I'm gonna be honest with you.. I want something different I have a samsung.. I feel like the S20fe is a flagship phone for a reason.. but the a52s is a beast as well..
Haha same. I came from S7 since 2015 and upgraded to a52 5G just this last year of december 2022. Very worth it upgrade with that headphone jack and sd card slot
This was a really great comprehensive review! The S20 FE definitely sounds like the winner but I can't give my headphone jack up. On that topic, I really hate that phone manufacturers are moving away from including them. While I agree it is nice to have the option of cordfree earbuds or phones, it is also super irritating for it to be yet another thing to be charged and if you run out of battery on your headphones then you are just out of luck. I really wish they would keep manufacturing headphone jacks. EDIT: I don't know if anyone will see this but I ended up buying a renewed Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus which has a headphone jack and really good specs for $550 from Samsung! I love it (so much space!!!), but definitely recommend buying straight from Samsung as third-party resellers might not be on the up and up.
I agree, really frustrating so many carriers are moving away from it! This is the reason I haven't got any of the S series phones. I'm struggling between these 2 for sure. I know they have an adapter that you use to plug into the USB C port so we can still use wired headphones. Just stupid these companies can't just include them.
1000% agree and this weigh in a lot on what phone I will choose to buy. It really sucks that they don't put that on every phone. Also I use the jack in my car as I don't have Bluetooth and don't want to buy a special device for it.
We also have to keep in mind that the apps are also probably more optimised on the s20fe than on the a52 because one as mentioned is pretty much a flagship phone.
The determining factor for me, is the processor. The S20 FE has the 800-series Qualcomm chipset which has better performance AND, probably even more important, better support. Phones which don't have the series 800 chips don't age too gracefully. That said, I think it's worth spending a little more and getting the S20 FE. You'll probably end up keeping it longer which will save you money in the long run.
idk i have the a52 5g and ive had no issues with the speed at all.. and i paid 350 brand new.. so id say its worth the price at that price even if you have to upgrade every 2 years insted of 3 its still worth it
@@whitegoodman7465 i have the a52 5g and its op[timized perfectly.. i sold my iphone 12 pro max because i am boycotting apple now.. and i didnt want to jump right into an android flagship until i got used to android.. and the a52 5g is just as fast as the iPhone 12 pro max and everyone knows apple has the fastiest cpu in the game
i wanted to get s20 fe, but here in my country they only sell the exynos version and it has couples issues like battery drain so fast and heat a lot. And the gap price between the A52 is huge here. So i'm choosing a52, and i'm happy. So snappy and smooth for my daily use.
Samsung fixed the heating issue with the last update Battery lasts around 4 and half hours with 120 HZ on So kinda average But a52 may be a better pick
Yeah i have a 4G with exynos chip and I must say it has lasted longer than i thought, with a general day use on 120hz the battery has lasted for more than half a day(in which id had started charging after 6pm and battery was at 32%) and this includes playing a couple of games. So all in all im more than happy with my choice.
Yeah I'm still not getting why the 3.5mm jack is disappearing. I love wireless earphones or headphones. But there's just something better about having that analog connection that makes it better.
@@malystxy5601 And the ever increasing devices that we have to charge to use, compared to the good old wires. Seems trivial, until you realize how often they let you down. It just adds up. Also, a good pair of earphones with wires, will last much longer than the wireless earphones, because it outlasts the battery life.

You can get a $10 Apple USB type C dongle which will give for a phone very good performance though I guess the Quad DAC setup of the LG phone may have been better but yeah there's very limited ones which have been better than that.
If I was buying outright, I'd go for the A52 just because it's considerably cheaper where I live, but if I was going on a plan with repayments I'd look at the S20 FE. Having said that, I'm sure an S21 FE will be announced in a few weeks, so there will either be launch deals for that device and the S20 FE will get cheaper until it's discontinued.
I love the A 52 5G version. Nice phone for less money. Samsung is the best. And I would pick the A 52 5G because the battery life is better than the S-Series.
@@cozypolar7307 The note 10 and 9 are definitely better, they're still both flagship phones even if it's outdated. The note 10 especially is considerably better than the A52 5G, and this is coming from someone who currently owns an A52. If you want a newer phone with a cheaper price then go for the A52, but if you don't particularly care about whether a phone is new or not and only care about performance, I would say Note 10.
thanks for the review i enjoyed watching. :) i'm leaning more into the S20Fe because mainly for its IP68 rating. And plus points that it comes from the S series. However, this midrange phone, A52 is a really great competitor.
Nobody really plans on submerging there phones in water as the first thing to do when they get it. IP ratings aren't a reason to pick a phone over another. But Fe is probably still the better choice.

i picked up my a52 5g for only $200. amazing upgrade from my redmi note 7. that headphone jack not being there is such a huge deal breaker for me. i use wired earphones for gaming on my pc and its easy to just replug straight into my phone afterwards. don't wanna waste money buying bluetooth earbuds. The a52 is such a beast for its price. the performance is top notch.
I'd actually get the S Version of the A52 5G because it's the same price as the normal A52 5G in my country and it's much faster, comparable to an S8+/S9 in performance thanks to the SD778G
I chose the Samsung a52 5g. It’s a newer phone and in the coming weeks and months it’ll be a greater value as prices fall. Specs are great for the price and it will sell crazy well like previous a series phones . Those looking at the Samsung s20 fe would be better off waiting for its replacement the s21 fe or whatever it’s called due to get released soon. Both are great phones however and are worth your money IMO.
Hubby just ordered the A52 and I just ordered the S20 FE. He's coming from S7 and me, the S7 Edge. We are looking forward to getting these 2 phones. Thank you for the excellent reviews and comparisons!
Cool! I have the S7 and I'm debating b/t A52 or S20 FE... Or even the A51, but I hate its not water resistant. Let me know how you guys like your new phones
I have bought both of them. They are same good when it comes to speed. The camera configuration of the S20 FE seems better, however, the A52 has a headphone jack. There is no difference in screen, bur I noticed the screen of A52 seems to be more solid. Otherwise, performance is good in both phones. Depends what you want. If you need the headphone jack go for A52. It is good value for money. If you want to zoom a lot on photos go for S20 FE. Otherwise when playing heavy games you will not mention much difference. The 120 Hz refresh rate in both phones makes marvels there.
How are they now after several months . I have a samsung a52 5g and it stutters alot and youtube does the same . Had the 52 5g for over a year now and looking to get rid as there are annoying issues weekly
@@gamingtherapy7587 I've heard this a lot. In other comparisons I've watched, ppl say that the S20 is better at long term also. It doesn't lose performance I've read.
right now the A52 is 500 and S20FE is 360. BUT, I have read a lot about S20FE having screen issues. ghost taps, confusing taps and swipes and other issues. They have tried to fix it like 4 times since introduced. Can't believe this is not mentioned anywhere on video or in comments.
Through my carrier in Canada with a return customer device discount, I was able to get the A52 5g for 380 Canadian (~315 USD) or the S20 FE for 480 Canadian (~395 USD). Although the headphone port would've been really nice, I grabbed the S20 FE in mint because I usually keep my phone for 2-3 years and the extra power from the 865 will definitely be nice long term. The red wasn't in stock, but your videos helped me pick between my next favourites the mint and the orange, can't wait to see the mint in person when it gets here this week!

The decider here would be the price difference and the 3.5mm headphone jack. If the price difference is more than 100 dollars , then definitely A52

*TechDaily* A52s 5G vs S21 FE. Both have rumored release dates of September 3rd and 8th respectively. If true, that would be a killer video, if you felt so inclined to produce it. The revised A52s will come with the Snapdragon 778G 5G having approximate geekbench single and multicore scores of 775 / 2877. The S21 5G has approximate scores of 906 / 3021, which is within throwing distance of the 778G 5G. This is of course assuming that Samsung hasn't opted to instead use the Exynos SoC in the US market on the S21 FE. This is just a topic off the top of my head that I thought you might want to consider. Thanks for all the content.
Well to me though, it's really not much of a tough choice, the S20 is the better option, for the money. Bought the S20 fe 5g uw because the A52 5g does not have wireless charging that was a deal breaker for me. Even though the A52 has a better camera which is important I always have problem with Samsung charging ports going out on me so wireless charging is a must.
I'm just gonna hope that my a50 (not really a good phone in the a5 line) holds up another year and the a52 5g gets considerably cheaper by then. Because even tho the 52 seems pretty decent, it's not worth the 500 bucks. I paid slightly over half for my a50 and they're pretty much the same phone considering the tech level of the time then and now. More framerate and 5g is not worth ~200 bucks extra. If it came with wireless charging, I might not argue about the current new price.
But as long as the s20fe doesn't come to the same price as the a52, it's not worth the extra 100 bucks imo. That little boost in cpu power will be as unnoticable as the microscratches on a smudged screen
If it wasn't for the lack of video stability in 4K and 1080p 60fps on the A52 which I hope Samsung will fix soon I would say it's the better choice. I don't own the 5g version of the S20 FE just the 4g variant and the RAM management is bad.

I got my husbands s20fe on prime day 2021 for $379, and paid $419 this year for the same phone. The headphone jack is important to me too, but I ordered a usb c to 3.5 headphone jack, lets see how that works. I have Bluetooth headphones, but I prefer the corded ones. The reason I purchased this phone? It's because of your videos ( even a more recent one 2 months ago) saying it is still one of the best phones you can own in 2022. Thank you for your reviews!

Go into the developers options and drop down the animations .5. That'll help speed up the phone for sure, there's a lot of other little tweaks that you could do long the way get rid of a lot of the bloat that comes loaded on the phone. I have the A32 5G and did the same thing and it runs amazing I'm thinking about jumping up to the 52 or the 20 or 21 I can't make up my mind. These are of course very fine details that not everyone cares about, but it's there, so why not mention it for those who care? Also, please compare these Samsung mid rangers to some Xiaomi devices as well. For example, the Mi 11X/Poco F3 is a very good value phone for just about $400.
I'll give you my opinion on it as I have both of these phones. Neither one really heats up at all except for extended gaming they both got slightly warm playing wild rift for about 30 minutes. The haptics are much weaker in the A52 but they also aren't iphone level on the FE.
Wish they would make a fan edition this year that had the Snapdragon 865 but made it a note fan edition with a headphone jack stero speakers and 120 hertz screen
I owned the S20FE5G and loved it. If I could improve one thing it would be the battery. The battery was nice and 95% of the time I got all day use with 6 hours sot. But if I went to a fair or park with the kids the camera can really destroy the battery. Otherwise it was great in every other department. Never had RAM issues and everything always loaded. I went for the S20 FE, no regrets whatsoever. The headphone jack is not an issue. Yes, I had to buy a small adapter that allows me to use my old 3.5mm headphones with the USB-C port, no problem. The headphone jack was a generic one, that cost nothing really. Not looking back.
Only the S20 FE has a metal frame here. A52s have a plastic frame (which difference is clearly visible at the antenna solution even in this video). Both have Gorilla glass fronts and plastic backs.
I know this is old and I am behind the times but I just went from an A50 to a S20 fe 5g and it is a CRAZY jump up for me.....again I know I went from one old phone to another but to me its like night and day. And phone prices are REALLY bad in Canada....
I am sorry I didn't see this review sooner. I would have preferred the S20 fe but I already bought the 52s 5g which has basically the same camera like the A52 5Gg.
Of these two phones, I had trouble deciding, since the headphone jack is pretty big deal for me. Ended up going with the 20FE because of DeX. Plus I already had a headphone adapter I got with a Tab. And I really loved the DeX idea. Yet, I can't even use it. Because the damn phone will always "overheat" at first I thought it was the multi tasking, so I tried just playing, same, tried watching videos, same. So I jut hook it up to the monitor, and did nothing, just waited. And it also gave me the heating up message. I don't have anything running in the background that isn't absolutely necesesary, and even then I would go a force stop some services. I don't have social media apps, or messengers so there's little running. But somehow it will overheat, according to the phone, and kick me out of DeX. It's not the adapter cause it works fine with the Tab and even with the Switch. If I had know I wasn't gonna be able to sue DeX, I would've gone with the 52. I miss the headphone jack, and hate carrying with the dongle in addition to the headset. And the rest of the features, I don't use, like wireless charging.
If you get the A52s to review, mind doing A52s 5G vs S20 FE next? Trying to decide what's better between an 8+128GB S20 FE for around USD552 (USD522 until the end of October) and an 8+256GB A20s 5G for around USD493 (8+128GB is at USD453) and I'm looking for some perspective. Prices are converted to USD from my local currency. Not in a rush tho, just thinking about swapping out my current phone in the [relatively near?] future and those two are the attractive choices for me so far.
I have many devices I use 3.5mm jack with like switch or 3ds for example but I'm glad I upgraded to wireless with my phone. So many things can be done while listening to videos and books. Feels so free.
I went with the S20 FE over the A52, because the A52 doesn’t support Samsung Dex. I’m gonna be using the phone for playing emulators, and with Dex, it’s basically a Nintendo Switch, because you can dock it to a TV.
I wish companies don't take out the 3.5 mm jack... I couldn't record on my mic without being able to listen to a music.... I couldn't get a jack extension that support both 3.5 mm jack n USB
This may sound silly, but the S20 FE is a better choice camera wise. More cameras and more MP does not mean better photos. I’d choose 8mp telephoto over a 64mp main camera
This has been very informative, thanks so much. I have the A50, but was wanting more regarding water resistance which the A52 has. However I like the camera options with the S20 FE, but no earphone jack puzzles me. I'll see which one will have the better price when I get my phone next month
So is the S20 FE camera just as good as the A52 5G? I cannot decide which phone I want. The camera is important to me as I have a son in sports and such and take a lot of pics. I like that it has better performance, but am I losing camera quality if I get the S20 FE?
The A52s killed the s20fe because it costs less and who wants better performance spends more and gets the s21. Reverse charging and wireless charging are less important for the midrange price point
3.5 mm jack just makes a lot of difference to me.
same here
I thought the same until I found out they make 3.5mm to type-C cords. I have no idea how it works, but you can still use an aux cord in your car but you plug the other end into your charging port instead of a separate jack. Haha same. I came from S7 since 2015 and upgraded to a52 5G just this last year of december 2022. Very worth it upgrade with that headphone jack and sd card slot
@@echobonx4118 The S7 was introduced as early as mid March 2016.
Just stupid these companies can't just include them.
exactly
yeah i was about to buy the s20 til i heard that it doesnt have a jack like what? I keep losing my bluetooth buds so i stick to wired.
Totally agree!
1000% agree and this weigh in a lot on what phone I will choose to buy. It really sucks that they don't put that on every phone. Also I use the jack in my car as I don't have Bluetooth and don't want to buy a special device for it.
This channel is so under-rated
So true
We also have to keep in mind that the apps are also probably more optimised on the s20fe than on the a52 because one as mentioned is pretty much a flagship phone.
The determining factor for me, is the processor. The S20 FE has the 800-series Qualcomm chipset which has better performance AND, probably even more important, better support. Phones which don't have the series 800 chips don't age too gracefully. That said, I think it's worth spending a little more and getting the S20 FE. You'll probably end up keeping it longer which will save you money in the long run.
The camera setup is also better

So all in all im more than happy with my choice.
Yeah I'm still not getting why the 3.5mm jack is disappearing. I love wireless earphones or headphones. But there's just something better about having that analog connection that makes it better.
Not to mention cheap wired headphones have better sound that mid range wireless
@@malystxy5601 And the ever increasing devices that we have to charge to use, compared to the good old wires.
Seems trivial, until you realize how often they let you down. It just adds up. Also, a good pair of earphones with wires, will last much longer than the wireless earphones, because it outlasts the battery life.
You can get a $10 Apple USB type C dongle which will give for a phone very good performance though I guess the Quad DAC setup of the LG phone may have been better but yeah there's very limited ones which have been better than that.
Also it's harder to lose wired earphones 😭
Money pure and simple. Without the jack you could be encouraged to buy wireless earphones, preferably their own, hence more profit for them.
Would you think a52 5g would be better than note 9 and 10?
@@cozypolar7307 The note 10 and 9 are definitely better, they're still both flagship phones even if it's outdated. The note 10 especially is considerably better than the A52 5G, and this is coming from someone who currently owns an A52.
If you want a newer phone with a cheaper price then go for the A52, but if you don't particularly care about whether a phone is new or not and only care about performance, I would say Note 10.

The S21 5G has approximate scores of 906 / 3021, which is within throwing distance of the 778G 5G. In my country the s20 fe is 170€ more expensive then a52s plus its the exynos version that's why i choose a52s because its cheaper have snapdragon both have stereo speakers and 120 hz but little worse camera and thiker bazels and slower fingerprint the speed between those are same i mean aganist exynos version.
And i like more the back of a52s
🙂
Hello. Which one should I buy now? I can get A52s for 315 and S20FE for 400. I am not sure if S20FE would turn back after no software update. Need help, please.
Awesome. Your reviews are always good.
Thanks so much! Have a great night ✌️
@@TechDaily thank you. I had a busy day since I was at universal studios to ride the new VelociCoaster at islands of adventure. For a pass holder preview .
Still a toss up for me. My only disappointment with the S20 FE is no jack. I usually listen to music or watch RUclips videos waiting in line at the bank or when I got both Covid jabs. Looks like the A52 5G with the jack is an option.
What about Bluetooth? There are a lot of very affordable wireless earphones...
@@tb124.gaming I personally like the galaxy buds less because I could easily lose them and anyway and sometimes it came out of my ears But they are practical as discreet headphones in public. I have always preferred the classic wired headphones from apple
@@tb124.gaming Yes it is available.. but using a bluetooth headphones could drain the battery a bit more compared to wired ones.
just got the s20 fe and honestly money well spent. no hiccups so far. wireless charge is a plus. I don't know about yall but my charger port has messed up in the past
Stylish hair n beard bro, must have taken an age 🤣. Nice video, do you know if Sammy is planning a A72 5G?
Late, but, they added a 5g version for the A12. Why the hell not for the A72?
dk i have the a52 5g and ive had no issues with the speed at all.. and i paid 350 brand new.. so id say its worth the price at that price even if you have to upgrade every 2 years insted of 3 its still worth it
I went for the S20 FE, no regrets whatsoever. The headphone jack is not an issue. Yes, I had to buy a small adapter that allows me to use my old 3.5mm headphones with the USB-C port, no problem. The headphone jack was a generic one, that cost nothing really. Not looking back.
how the phone so far ?
Id get the a52 5g...
Its just amazing value imp, you might think differently tho
Only the S20 FE has a metal frame here. A52s have a plastic frame (which difference is clearly visible at the antenna solution even in this video). Both have Gorilla glass fronts and plastic backs.
Got myself a Fe 5 256gb with 8gb of ram. It was hard to come by. Can't wait to receive it next week
Not in a rush tho, just thinking about swapping out my current phone in the [relatively near?] future and those two are the attractive choices for me so far.
i'll wait for next year, maybe i can get an exynos x amd chip in the a53 if not I guess that's fine. don't need to upgrade now but one more year
This was beyond helpful! Thank you so much for sharing,
I got my mom the S20 FE a few months ago and it was completely worth the money.
The S20FE is superior in every regard but
I simply cannot use a phone mixing the 3.5 jack.
I have many devices I use 3.5mm jack with like switch or 3ds for example but I'm glad I upgraded to wireless with my phone. So many things can be done while listening to videos and books. Feels so free.
Unfortunately they are going extinct
Because they are getting greedy
@@LordOfChaos.x I think that they are going extinct because there are so many decent low cost blue tooth ear buds now.
@@pcarlson214 uhh u dont get any earbuds for free
I went with the S20 FE over the A52, because the A52 doesn’t support Samsung Dex. I’m gonna be using the phone for playing emulators, and with Dex, it’s basically a Nintendo Switch, because you can dock it to a TV.
Great comparison dude, thanks!
I wish companies don't take out the 3.5 mm jack...
I couldn't record on my mic without being able to listen to a music....
I couldn't get a jack extension that support both 3.5 mm jack n USB
Nice comparison. Thanks. S20 FE 5G @700 CAD vs. A52 5G @530 CAD - What should I buy? The camera is secondary for me.
Come and buy in india..we don't know the value of CAD$...ok?
This may sound silly, but the S20 FE is a better choice camera wise. More cameras and more MP does not mean better photos. I’d choose 8mp telephoto over a 64mp main camera
You didn't mention how long each of the device will get the updates. That's more important these days.
I needed this video so badly!!!!! Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
please do more Nokia phone reviews. i really like watching them.
This has been very informative, thanks so much. I have the A50, but was wanting more regarding water resistance which the A52 has. However I like the camera options with the S20 FE, but no earphone jack puzzles me. I'll see which one will have the better price when I get my phone next month
What was your decision sir??
.
Can't beat the Galaxy S20 FE for $250. Just got mine and it's sooooo good
@Vikas Anand yeah. It was on sale at Walmart on Black Friday. I seen ad when I was t work and bought it as soon as the went on sale, had to.
Great comparison which is why I just ordered the S20 FE. Thanks!
So is the S20 FE camera just as good as the A52 5G? I cannot decide which phone I want. The camera is important to me as I have a son in sports and such and take a lot of pics. I like that it has better performance, but am I losing camera quality if I get the S20 FE?
All things equal, do you find that the FE has a dimmer display than a52/a72? Thank you!
S20 FE no contest, I can have it brand new with 2y warranty for 300 euro, around the same price as a52.
Where can you get it for such a low price?
Bruh i got mine for 460 euros
And it was 200 euros off
nice video buddy. I skipped the FE... I'm really happy with the A52 (4G) and saved some bucks as well. have a good one buddy 🙂
Ok buddy 😸
Same. I ordered it last night and can’t wait to get it.
Which is best S20 FE 4G or A52 5G in the UK?
A52s
The A52s killed the s20fe because it costs less and who wants better performance spends more and gets the s21. Reverse charging and wireless charging are less important for the midrange price point
Tienes razón, pero una duda, el snapdragon 778g es solo un poco menos potente que el snapdragon 865?
Quiero elegir uno de los para jugar genshin!
Yeah I’m going for the SE for the better insides
