There are no adjectives that can properly describe this majestic piece of music. Just listen and become absorbed in a masterpiece written by a true genius.
This simply has to be the most gorgeous orchestral piece of music I have ever, ever, ever heard in my entire life! Thank wagner.i just love you!!!! Better than barber of Seville, carmen etc; Paul jones Baltimore,md Gorgeous!!!! I'm sorry I could listen to that all day!!!!!!!
Wow...what a performance. The silence at the end is just as important to the music as the notes preceding it are, and this audience is aware and knowledgeable of just that. I love the deliberate tempo the conductor takes throughout the work; never rushed so that the small nuances of the harmonies, especially in the modulations, allow the chords to blossom on their own. Also, it affords the tremolo of the string section some wonderful rhythmic playability that is seldom heard in faster tempos.
This brings tears to my eyes and my whole body is in goosebumps from start to end. Thank you so much for posting this. Wagner is sublime, no doubt about it.
I play this all the time on my violin along with various performances sung by the great sopranos (Flagstad, Traubel etc) on RUclips (Violin 1 part from the score) - it's gorgeous!!!!!
I couldn't describe my feelings and emotions better! Sometimes, after a hard working day I just sit down on my couch, turn on this wonderful Music - and all stress is gone and I'm relaxed totally...
i really like the dynamics and the pacing. there's a lot of shape going on. i can imagine that its not quite what the conductor wanted.. like you could wrestle with it forever to get it to open up just right.
Indicates, that people actually listened to it, and felt it so hard they didn't wanted to ruin the moment with immidiate applause. And you are not yet able to appresiate music completely.
wonderful!a genius.its a pity he and his music is associated with hitler and anti semitism, which must stop many people from ever hearing his music.stephen fry did an interesting show on wagner recently on bbc4 which people should watch.
I find the TRAGIC element here terribly missing,it's as if they are all going through the motions only and leaving me cold at the end of this piece. Utterly boring, what a perversion. And definitely Thielemann ain't NO Karajan! Go listen to Bohm's with the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra. sd goh (malaysia)

Fantastic ! So wonderful hearing this...
Beyond words -only tears can describe this sublime music.

I wish, the last piece of music before I will close my eyes eternally will be this climax of all music ever composed.
Hatte beim Anhören am ganzen Körper Gänsehaut. Ein Meisterwerk.
So wonderful. Tears in my eyes.

Paul, you are right ! All that Richard Wagner composed is simply out of this world !
Damn right, I second that. 😄

Beautifully done! Bravo! Tears.
Ewigkeit. Dort wo es keine Zeit mehr gibt.

the silence on the end - indicates an audience that really understands this music!!

An experience for the soul..

This is one of the most beautiful versions of the Liebestod I have ever heard. Thanks for uploading this!
Liebestod - one of the great peaks in the fabulous mountain range of European culture. 🙏
That...silence...was almost as breathtaking as the music. Never seen something so perfect.
The best interpretation I've heard.
Einfach wunderschön
Wonderbar !

Geweldige uitvoering van dit meesterwerk!! Groetjes
Absolutely superb.

stunning.
Thank you, I was in there, Suntory Hall in Tokyo

Unübertrefflich. Niemand interpretiert Wagner so tief beeindruckend wie Thielemann
Wonderful. Thielemann knows what he is doing! Dorothea :)
fantastica!
fantastic!
what a fantastic audience!
Magnífico.

A word of warning! Do not play this piece if driving alone at night.
Ich Auch Gänsehaut Wünder Schön
Beautiful, Ausgezeichnet, Prima.
Andres Cuban_American_NYC/USA.
Fantastic! And one should not forget he is a Karajan student!
He shed some tears in the end.
Bravo!
inolvidable

@FishMan1202 Yes. I see what you mean, especially in Wotan's Farewell.
Wagner was a genius!
packend,macht mich atemlos
Emotions Kunst.
extraordinary!! this version made me too sensitive

Metal sent me here.
me too
MOST SUBLIME !!!!
i thought it was slow

The West is the best
Karajan 2
Apotheosis. Nuff said.
Mein Gott!
pas mal
Europe is dying

Fisically painful to watch. There's something negative about the way he conducts.
And orchestra seems to hate him as well.
I'd say that the orchestra is much better than the conductor.....
well started, then no sense for climax - typical for Thielemann. "Boring guy..." Wagner would say.
