Hello doctor Langston. I have a question regarding the bone graft. I had to get my premolar extracted due to it's breaking, and my doctor haven't told me that I need to have bone graft put there right after extraction. He told me it can be done later. I got opinion of another doctor and she told me that I have to wait for 4 to 6 months to do an X ray of my jaw to see how it looks like. My question is can I do a bone graft now (10 days after extraction) or should I wait 4 to 6 months to see if the bone grew back? I am 32yo and have no medical problems, and I don't use any meds. Thank you in advance. I enjoyed watching you videos!
My bone took 6 months to grow back. I’m 57 years old and had and abscess and never was a smoker. Also my husband was a smoker and it took his bone to grow back 2 years before he can do the implant. So there is a lot of factors that determine if you can grown your bone back. And how long it will grow back.
Minus the bone graft, about how much is the total cost? How do I find the best dentist to do this procedure? Should I go to an oral surgeon? Edit: I take very good care of my teeth. My new dental technician was surprised at how well my teeth are given my age, 63 yo. About 2 yrs ago I flossed out a 30 yo crown and it fell out. My retired dentist built up and made a false veneer of sorts between the two good teeth. You can't tell it's a falsie. I baby that side of my mouth but at some point it may compromise and crack. At that time I will get an implant. I feel very strongly that I don't need a bone graft, very good health overall.
Hello! It would’ve been nice and extremely helpful have you given us actual questions to ask a dental implant specialist/Dentist/surgeon? Most of us don’t know the exact questions that we need to ask. Maybe you could make another video and it would really help us if you could give us specific questions regarding their knowledge. Thank you very much:)
I had 4 implants done on top and then a prothesis over the. I recently had one break. The X-rays showed one implant was not straight. I now have a denture and the abutment was not removed. It appears that it would be very painful to remove it. I am also a type 2 diabetic. Would you suggest that I am no longer a candidate for implants. What would you suggest? Why is the patient not told of how impossible it is to remove broken implant.
I don’t smoke, my whole life, I don’t drink alcohol, and I never do drugs my whole life. I do brush my teeth twice a day, and I raise my mouth with salt water in the morning too and raise my mouth with fluoride raise every night. I go to the dentist twice a year too. I still got an abscess in the front of my mouth. And had to remove my root canals. I am curious she ad to remove 2 teeth. And only put in one implant. I want to see how you put in 2 teeth one one implant.

Back in 2010 I had implants done- 6 upper and 4 lower. All went great, however in 2011 it was found that I had Cancer in my throat the size of a small egg. It was removed but I had Chemo and Radiation. In 2013 and 2014 the implants began coming loose and 4 fell out. I 2018 all of the implants came out. I'm free of cancer at the age of 75. I'm healthy and had dentures made and were very expensive, not even close to what I paid for Implants. My problem is I still can't get use to wearing them. I eat great. The only food I miss are apples, corn on the cobb and peanuts. What really is upsetting is the money I spent on implants. is it true that Chemo and radiation are the reasons my implants fell out? Yanni
I am happy to know you are cancer free. Nothing is permanent. When mountains can move and brake Implants are still man made. Forget about past and enjoy your cancer free life. Good luck.
One of my issues is that I have an open bite that bothers me much more that my two missing molars. I don’t want braces again at 61, can I get jaw surgery before two implants?
What are your questions about getting dental implants?
