Im Swedish, never heard this Beyonce theory and I doubt anyone bought it. We have heavily relied on a small amount of giants within their markets to keep prices fair and I guess they were just bored during the pandemic and realized they could just slowly increase prices and blame the pandemic for it
what are you talking about? The recent price increase for ex. gas was due to Putin/the war and for foods such as ham and cheese was due to the foods which the animals eat also get more expensive. I have also never heard of the Beyonce thing //swede

Also not an expert or anything just a Swede living in it, however the food giants in Sweden ICA and COOP might have initially increased prices because of covid and the war but they are currently having record profits and its very hard to combat it cause we have to buy food and they have close to a duopoly. I just think we the citizens are getting fucked right now cause we left companies unchecked and relied on them being fair which they had been for a long time but arren't anymore.

As someone who lives in the middle of the Canadian wilderness, with like 4 businesses total in my "town" none of which are hiring, but is also at a point in my life where I want to be able to move out and care for myself. I can really relate to that mindset of "I should enjoy the leisure I have now because when will I have this again in life" but also constantly stressing about how fast time is moving and how little I'm doing

Something more on the writers strike. I work in set Dec for iatse and acfc, we went on strike a while ago and got bullied into the worst deal known to man every crew member is currently out of a job right now as well and we will get nothing from this strike because we're locked in contract after our union blindsided us taking the deal after our vote to strike went through. On another note 996 sounds like an improvement to my hours on set, 16 hour days aren't uncommon, we don't know when or where we work until the night of. Job security doesn't exist outside of a single production as they can just not hire you back. It's awesome to see big A back, huge uplift in current circumstances.

I see what you mean but the root of the problem is that unions have to bend over to executive producers funding our production. If they pay us more they'll cut the amount of people we have since there's no minimum crew requirements. Its a screwed if you do screwed if you dont type case.
