Tropical Storm Beryl likely to reach hurricane status

- Tropical Storm Beryl was named by the National Hurricane Center late on Friday evening, and is expected to become a hurricane rather quickly as it marauds towards the Lesser Antilles. Hurricane conditions are expected in Barbados and St Vincent and possibly other islands as the storm sweeps through early on Monday morning.
With strong winds of up to 100mph at its closest pass, Beryl is also expected to drop over 6 inches (150mm) of rain over the Lesser Antilles, and higher amounts are possible over Haiti and Cuba if the storm turns towards the north. Beryl will remain stronger if it stays further south and heads towards Jamaica, which is also a possibility and the working forecast from the National Hurricane Center right now.
Beryl is expected to start weakening after it reaches Jamaica, but its long-term future is uncertain. This may be compounded by the other area of interest behind Beryl which in itself may become a hurricane.

Beryl has broken records hours ago... According to the Best Track for Beryl, it became a TS at 42.7W, record-breaking farthest east a named storm has ever formed in June! For reference, Hurricane Elsa and the 1933 Trinidad hurricane became a TS at 45.3W, and 45.2W, respectively! Beryl beat BOTH storms by over 220 miles! Only Bret from last year formed farther east, at around 40.9W, though it only came so close to being a hurricane...

Beryl looking pretty good for a storm with sustained 40 mph winds. You don't usually see that saw shape in tropical storms like that

Category 3 isn’t out of reach here… the wind shear has been driven upward, and Saharan dust has also migrated upwards. SSTs are 29-30c in carribean, potential 115 mph storm, would be wild for major this early and as second storm.

One of our weather men were retiring so the big emphasis was on his retirement tonight Friday the 28th I can only get one major station on my antenna TV , man I'm poor I've got to remember not to get so much frozen food usually I'm on watch by August but maybe this summer I'm going to have to really step it up. I felt the Beryl could be the earliest major hurricane since like a long time ago (14 years if you think alex 2010 is still deserve cat 3) but I don't think it will reach cat 3 in June as it was very late and I'm only saying the earliest major hurricane in the long time ago probably
