Category 5 Hurricane Beryl aims for Jamaica

- Hurricane Beryl reached an incredible 175mph Category 5 peak early this morning, and has gradually started to weaken as wind shear finally stamps its authority on the storm. Despite this, Beryl is still a Category 5 for a little longer as the eye starts to degrade, and will only slowly lose its intensity as it heads towards Jamaica. It is still possible if not likely that Beryl will be a Category 4 by the time it arrives in Jamaica, potentially making the strongest landfall in that island's history.
Jamaica is expected to interfere with the storm's structure further, and more weakening should happen as it reaches the western Caribbean. However, Beryl is still likely to be a Category 1 or 2 storm when it passes the Cayman Islands and makes landfall in the Yucatan Peninsula later this week.
Over the weekend, Beryl will emerge back into the Gulf of Mexico, and another landfall in northern Mexico or southern Texas is expected on Sunday or Monday. However, the strength of the storm remains very uncertain by this point, and could be anywhere from a tropical depression to a moderate hurricane.

Historical storm and you’re alive to witness it.
It’s really crazy how many records were broken by Beryl
There's like 10 records broken
Currently, it looks like the wind speed is down to 155-160mph. The peak is mostly predicted at 175mph. I think the peak is almost 180 mph, thanks to the recon support.
Luckily, it is expected to weaken before affecting Jamaica but still a powerful one.
Pray for Jamaica everyone 🙏
175??? Holyyyy thats as strong as maria
every time this storm got an update, it's something that you could never predict happening
Omg this is wild 😭
holy 175 MPH WINDS?!
It would be to a TCR or best track in Q4 2024
Preparations should be rushed to completion in Jamaica, effective immediately! If anyone there hadn't done that, we are running out of time! As for anyone in the Cayman Islands (especially), and the Yucatan Peninsula, preparations should start as soon as watches are posted. Otherwise, anyone else near and/or inside the 4-5 day cone should keep their eyes on Beryl.
Wow, already a Cat 5. Keep Jamaica in your thoughts yall.
😮whoaaa....a truly unpredictable monster 😢# my condolences to Carricou & Grenada # stay safe Jamaica & Yucatan

Just randomly Exploded within 24 hrs
One of the most historical storm in Atlantic and one of the most historical storm this 2024
This is just shocking and abnormal. We only expected a C2 passing south of us; now where facing possibly the strongest landfalling Jamaica hurricane. Preparations for the system should be nearing completion.....NOW.
When the storm first formed all the models expected Cat 2 or even Cat 3, only TWO models expected for it to be Cat 4 and one of them hinted at Cat 5! But Beryl exceeded all of that!
@@maho_nishizumi_tigertank Exactly! Now Beryl is laughing at us about our shock and surprise...
@@Aweso-x4k it also set the bar low in a ton of records, a example is the earliest major, last one was Denis 2005 in July 16…
