    Minrathous Consequences: 2:17

    Treviso Consequences: 6:37
In Dragon Age: Veilguard, choosing to help Treviso comes with significant outcomes. When you decide to defend Treviso, your main task will be battling the Blight Dragon as it wreaks havoc on the city. During the fight, the dragon will eventually get called away by Ghilan’nain, sparing Treviso from further destruction. The canals remain free of blight, and many civilians are saved from certain doom.
However, this choice comes with a price. While Treviso is secured, Minrathous suffers heavily. The city is overrun by blight, giving the Venatori a crucial foothold to launch their coup and strengthen their presence. As a result, all ongoing side quests in Minrathous automatically fail, and new quests emerge, showing the aftermath of the blight’s spread. Additionally, Viper, the leader of the Shadow Dragons, is gravely affected, and the Shadow Dragon merchant disappears, though they may later reappear at the Crossroads.
Choosing Treviso also impacts your companions. Neve will be frustrated by your decision and gains the Hardened effect, affecting her character arc moving forward. She stays in Minrathous to help manage the chaos until you reunite with your companions. While this doesn’t lock her out as a romance option, it adds tension to your relationship.
In short, aiding Treviso saves the city and its people but comes at the expense of Minrathous, shifting the power dynamics and affecting your journey ahead.
Now, let’s explore what happens when you choose to help Minrathous in Dragon Age: Veilguard. Opting to defend Minrathous sets you up for a fierce battle against the Blight Dragon. You’ll fight to protect the city, and just as the battle intensifies, Ghilan’nain calls the dragon away, sparing Minrathous from complete devastation. This choice prevents the Venatori from seizing control, maintaining the presence of the Shadow Dragons and keeping their power in check.
But this decision comes with significant repercussions for Treviso. The city falls victim to the blight, leading to a wave of destruction and chaos. All side quests in Treviso are automatically failed, and new ones arise that reflect the damage and impact of the blight. The Antivan Crows suffer, with their merchant disappearing-though there is a chance they may reappear later at the Crossroads.
Companion relationships are also affected. Lucanis, tied closely to Treviso and the Antivan Crows, gains the Hardened effect as he stays behind to assist in rebuilding his city. Unfortunately, this choice locks Lucanis out as a romance option, so keep that in mind if you're pursuing his storyline.
In short, helping Minrathous ensures the city’s survival and keeps the Venatori in check, but it comes at the cost of Treviso and Lucanis’ trust, setting the stage for a complex path forward in your adventure.
Thanks for watching our guide on the Minrathous or Treviso choice in Dragon Age: Veilguard. These decisions are what make the game so impactful, adding layers of consequence and replayability to your journey. Whether you chose to defend Minrathous or save Treviso, each path shapes your story and your companions in unique ways.

I choose Treviso, Not to romance Lucanis but there city was less in power compared to Neve’s city. They have Templars, all sorts of back up. I think BioWare loves to drive us crazy😂.

First playthrough as a veil jumper I save Minrathous. Rational being that preventing a coup was serious.
Second playthrough as a grey warden I've saved Treviso. Here is my rational.
-As a Grey warden my job is to prevent the blight spreading, not stop a coup.
-the venitori already have alot of free reign due to high up influence already in positions of power (magisters and templars)
-the ones who don't support the cult mostly put there head in the sand about it. The Cult out in the open in charge for all to see might serve as a very large wake up call (similiar to when Haven was burned in DAI)
    ***SPOILER***
Minrathous gets blighted and wreaked in the final act anyway. So saving it seems more short lived

Am I the only one romancing Lace Harding, the dwarf from inquisition? 😂😂
For me she is just seemingly the least cringy female character who happens to be a badass that is extremely useful in a fight and there's a certain something that appeals to the romantic in me about a super hot battle-mage dude (my character) falling in love with a dwarf woman who clearly doesn't expect it at all when you flirt with her but is totally into it lol Also, IRL I've always been attracted to what you might call unconventionally attractive women so I guess there's that. I haven't finished the game and am just past the Minrathous or Treviso quest so don't know how her romance plays out but I am genuinely curious if I'm alone here in her being my immediate first choice?

So Neve isn't locked out of romance if hardened but Lucanis is? Seems more worth it to save Treviso overall, especially if you can fix the relationship with Neve. Also, the Shadow Dragon merchant died if Treviso was saved, which explains the Crossroads appearance.

The trade off if you save Treviso is that you can never get the Shadow Dragons to full support, whereas if you don’t save Treviso, you can still get the crows to max, it is just harder. So each choice locks you out in one regard and simply makes it harder in another regard.

@1bwash this is incorrect. You can get shadow dragons to max even if you side with the crows. Combination of doing ALL side quest and selling valuables to the wisp in the crossroads will get it there.

@@ZacharyChandler-s4m Yep that's what I did in my second playthrough, had no issues at all maxing it this way, especially with all the sidequests and Neve's personal quest

@@Inbladerliterally if you just put this quest off and farm valuables you can get all the loot from Lorelei before choosing Treviso. Also no offense but the blunt of the option comes down to this “either Viper gets blighted, or an entire cities canal gets blighted” one man versus an entire city 😭

Proper nouns, ie names are not open to accent and cultural differences.
    As Data famously said about two perfectly fine pronunciations of the noun;
“one is my name, one is not”.
There is no city named min-rah-thouse.

I picked Treviso as it has only the crows no standing army no additional protection. Minerathous has templar's and is run by mage's lots I would assume they could help protect the city
