I love how he makes the effort to remember that last song. I think he understands how much fans love hearing every detail.

Having done a semester abroad in Spain, yes the language is very very different from Mexico's. There is definitely truth to the idea of hating the way another culture does things until you live there long enough,

He's a lot less of a douchebag than I thought. I've always loved Interpol but thought for some reason he came off as distant and unapproachable. Seems like a decent dude tho. Shows what I know.

same here, i always thought he was a douche, sad, mean person, tho he didn't really smile a lot, he looks like a nice guy to me.

Having seen them 3 times in concert, I can say with some certainty that he must be either introverted or shy or both. He's VERY shy on stage, barely speaks outside of his song lyrics (think of the opposite of Bono). You're lucky to hear 100 words out of him in a 90 minute concert. So yeah, he can SEEM distant and unapproachable because he doesn't act like a ham on stage. He's obviously very intelligent, articulate and artistic but I never get the sense he enjoys the spotlight. I've often wondered if he was caught by surprise by the success of the first album ("Turn on the Bright Lights"). Maybe he never planned to be this famous. Who knows??

I know where you are coming from Paul. My father is half Spanish/Italian but I was born in Venezuela and then moved to the States when I was 11 so I can realate to slang, culture shock, etc.... Still love you as an artist no matter what.

Most of the people think that the spanish from Spain sounds hard, I've heard so many times that the people says: the way that the spaniards talk sound like are angry "enojado" so strong, and that the spanish in Latin America is soft and more musical, I don't khow if that is true but is a very spread idea between the foreing people european, americans, latins, etc.

TheFebi 5 years later but i feel like answering.
Im from Mexico and the way we talk, (at least in the capital) is really like chill and funny. Double meaning of words is something that we really use. We joke a lot using them. Its like we are always looking for the positive side of things. I guess you could say we are kind childish.

Uumm, I don´t think all our slang in Spain is so aggressive. It actually depends on the area. It is true that we use a lot of strong words, but we also are playing with meanings all the time, which allows to use the language in a very smart and funny way, if you know how.
Come to Spain to have a beer with me and I´ll be glad to go deeper into this subject, Mr. Banks. ;)
