I was going to ask "If I pick up the new base box and this expansion, do I have everything I need to have fun?" Thanks for the review, I'm picking this up, along with the new box. And we're going to see Return of the King at the theather tonight, they've been showing them again here once per month, we love those movies.
Nice review! As a first, if you prefer a small expansion, the Dark of Mirkwood is pretty good, too, but this is better. I love the FFG LCG's and there is plenty of unreviewed content for that. Nice to see this one getting the spotlight!
Fatty Bolger was very helpful in the actual novels. He wasn’t super awesome, but who amongst us would be, when faced with Nazgûl? He even rose up against the brigands who took over the shire and was imprisoned for it. On the other hand, the Fatty Bolger card in this expansion is terrible, not worth playing.
Bummer. I’m always needing more a certain cards. Doing two and three player games. So I’m not against buying multiple copies. Just hoping for more stuff.
@@TheLatestRetroBoardGameShow I know I know. And I hate to say it. I've been battling with this game back and forth since it came out. I love the IP so much and I think the artwork is beautiful, but I just can't get it. I think it must be that to me at least the mechanics of the player decks are too limiting. Keep up the great work, by the way! Love your stuff!
Not getting a game doesn’t make it a crappy game, it just means it’s not to you. I don’t enjoy “Gone With The Wind” but that doesn’t mean it’s a crappy movie, just not for me.

Consider the Dark of Mirkwood as well, that's a fun first expansion.
I'm so glad you suggest this as an essential expansion because I didn't know where to go next!
That Golumn voice was amazing!
It’s my favorite to bust out literally anytime I hear the word potatoes.

Thanks for the review and the imitations.

Ok I’m ashamed I forgot he was integral to the scourge of the shire section dang it. I’ve changed my mind and am pro FB
Hes a low threat spirit hobbit hero. He does have it’s use
Not totally useless in the game… I swap him in for spirit Frodo when playing my Bond of Friendship hobbit deck in Saga. Pretty thematic too 😊
I like your Gollum best. Darn, your Gandalf ain't half bad either xD
Once I get going in Gandalf it’s very hard to quit.
Great voices.
Ha thanks so much!
What’s the difference if I have the older two expansions.
None. You get a nice box to store it, tho.

Great impressions!
Ha thanks!
Wait... Who Framed Roger Rabbit was more than just the one movie? 🤔
Sadly the one feature and 3 shorts
It was a book originally
This is an awesome expansion. Great review.
Now we need and Indiana Jones LCG
YES! If they did an Indiana Jones LCG I would totally be on board.
Rings of Power made plenty of mistakes, but it is generally following the second age lore.
Nice video. Crappy game.
Wildly disagree with that second part lol!

A crappy game because you can't "get" the mechanics. Reasonable opinion I guess.
