    I was really impressed with the GLC300E. What do you think?

      It’s features are just like my Grand Cherokee Overland I had 🤷🏻‍♀️. This looks like an awesome car Rob!!!! I have a question 🤔. I know when I had the Jeep, the “unbreakable” headlights were something like $7000 to replace one 😳 (I think I read somewhere Jeep had “lowered” parts replacement costs and they’re now $5000 🙄😂. I’m assuming parts costs would be up there as well for the Mercedes Benz 🤷🏻‍♀️. At the same time though, I know they are quality builds so probably less need to replace things. Great review Rob .... you nail these vids every time!!!! 🥰👋👋👋👋

      @@weighpride285 i think replacing anything would be costly. That's what prevents me from getting a Grand Cherokee. They look like they service all my needs but I believe they can be troublesome

    FINALLY! Someone who explains cars drive modes more detailed! I’ve been trying to find someone to explain it for so long! Thank you!

    I drove this. This thing flies like crazy. A hugely understated car.

    I went to the dealer to buy a glb35amg. I decided to test drive this thing. Let me tell you this thing pulls like a freight train when in combined power. And you will always have that power available once you are concerned about pure electric power and economy.

      One thing that people need to understand that even when the batteries are depleted the car is operating in hybrid mode. There is no time when the electric motor is disabled completely. There is always the combined power when needed. It’s only not available if you are in pure EV mode.

    Nicely done Robbo, they are a quality vehicle, I was looking at the dual cab 350d but and the end of the day it was just a navara with a few Mercedes extras 🤣😃👍

      I reviewed the Navara Benz a couple of years ago. They are discontinued now.

      Very comfy and quick for sure. Apparently more than half the Mercedes-Benz models will be Hybrids by 2025

    Hi Rob, great review, haven’t seen a road test on this car before. Did you notice what the fuel consumption was like when in petrol only mode ? Also would be great to know what sort of range it has with a full charge and full tank of fuel (50L I believe)? Thanks.

      Gday Kieren, sadly I just didn't have enough time with this car to get all those details. It did impress me though

    Через скільки км поїздки акумулятор знову зарядився?
    Чи рекуперації немає?

      Bit pricey for me too. But I enjoyed my time in it

    Even if the battery is dead it still provides the combined power output because it is never fully dead. They don't want it to be such that when the battery is depleted that power is too.

      ExActly. Why are people saying that the car reverts to petrol only power. That’s not how this hybrid works. The electric motor is still there adding power to get the full 330hp and 700nm tq

    When the car switches to gas, does it not recharge the battery using the kinetic energy generated when the car is in motion?

    • @ThrottleDownunder
      @ThrottleDownunder  4 года назад

      Yes but only in small amounts
      Enough to power acceleration of lights but then petrol kicks in again

    I wonder if two sets of independent batteries would work ? One powers the car, and a solar body with regenerative alternators on each wheel charges the unused. Flip a switch when one set gets low, and repeat. I wonder if the solar and regen would have enough time to charge while the other set drains ?

    • @ThrottleDownunder
      @ThrottleDownunder  4 года назад +1

      That would be great. Maybe you should build it. Might make you rich 😉

    • @jamendetvarjukul
      @jamendetvarjukul 4 года назад +1

      Solar doesn't give enough wattage to make a difference, also because of cost of damage, it would only be feasible to put on roof and then you can't have panoramic glass. The surface area you have available would only give you very negible amount of charge, as well as only working when not parked in garage or cloudy days - there's no economics in it.

    • @jamendetvarjukul
      @jamendetvarjukul 4 года назад

      better to put the solar panels on a house and charge the car that way...
      more cost efficient

    Just had my test drive yesterday and decided to buy a GLC 300e Coupe because it’s way sexier. It was AMAZING because I never expected it to be so much fun to drive on all-electric.
