I played the original game, not getting the Gold edition until Steam. I played it so many times, every mission, every cheat option unlocked and played. Without saves, you needed to be even more careful to avoid having to redo the mission over again. That's why those facehuggers give me nightmares still.
You can simply press escape when finishing a level, which will return you to the main menu and in the process save your progress as well. Then simply proceed to continue your campaign from the next level which is listed as available and the previous one as completed on whatever difficulty you have chosen 👌
Thank God youtube is recommending good channels! Anyway,i didn't play this one,but i I played the 2010 one,and i remember it was really good, maybe i try this one!
Man this reminds me of the Unreal tournament games. I had so much fun with The 2004 One. It had so much content and The bot AI was actually good so both lonely and players with friends had a fun time with it.
I played the first two campaigns on the easiest difficulty just to get more saves during missions. Only then I found out the trick to get unlimited saves. I really do not have much patience for checkpoint saving or limited saves in video games. I do not find very appealing to be forced to repeat large portions of difficult or confusing maze-like missions again and again if something goes wrong (you'll never see me play Dark Souls). Overall it was a decent game. I always liked the Aliens and Predator movies but was always too afraid to play this game as a child.
15:10 The Queen fight is more fun with cheat codes. I would do the infinite ammo cheat and shoot it until it died, which is possible. I would also fight the Queen as a Predator with WRISTBLADES ONLY as I felt the spear gun got too easy; a true Predator should enjoy a challenge...
You're a little wrong about the save system. While it does serve to lengthen the game I believe it's for replayabilty and to actually get better at the game. On the traniee you have the most saves, 6 if I remember, it's been a long time since I've played it at that difficulty, and 2 saves on director's cut. With the save system as it is it feels like the intent was fir players to learn the game on the lower difficulties and move the difficulty up as they get better, as the skill ceiling for this game is rather high. The decision to have not included it in the initial release seems silly though. Unfortunately you're right about it not having much replayabilty though, once you've run through the cheat codes that's really it, which is a shame because I've always wanted more missions from this game.
I prefer the first amv briefings (with actors). They are not so over the top. And the first version of the game (not the gold edition) had no save states at all. You had to finish the levels without saving. I mannaged to do this years ago on hard - today it's much more difficult to me (I think I'm old :/ ).
i love more the old original ingame fmvs, admitted new fmvs pro side is the increased props and background sound effects. 20:10 oh and don't bother shooting those little shits, just get real close and swipe them with wristblades real fast before they leap on you, one light strike is enough.
Hey there, If you want to see more reviews I've done, here's a playlist ruclips.net/p/PLtiuHW2Sjl_7-g6kcP64unhSdqBSYDtya
I really hope Nightdive does this and AVP 2 in a collection.
Another great review! Was never really a big fan of Aliens or the Predators but it would be cool to see a new Aliens Vs Predators game someday tho.

Glad you enjoyed it. :) The 2010 game is kinda a reboot of this game.

I just found your videos and let me just say it makes me happy every time you crap on The Predator. That movies deserves all the hate.
One of the only PC games I've played! Good show
the alien pounce in the first game was a 4 button combi. they put it in the second game so that more people would play alien in multiplayer
wow didnt know xenoborg where a thing usually killed everything before i could examine because i was so scared!

I'll remember that the next time I fight the Queen in the Predator campaign.
A DEMO FOR THE PLAYSTATION????
Yeah it would have been cool to see this on PS1
The true question tho… is it better than the movie?
Well, I'd rather play this than watch those movies lol.
@@InfoGuyGaming they are pretty fun, but yeah, I totally get it :)
