I am a you tube taught crocheter. I just wanted to say... You are an excellent teacher. I wish I would have found you when I was learning. You take the steps slowly and you explain it very well.
@@naticrochet I also learned to crochet on RUclips. For some reason I could never get how to do a slip stich after watching this video you made it so easy to figure out. Thank you can't wait to make this scarf.
Oh I forgot to mention that I have a tip for remembering which row you're on. When you are at the end where the chain started and you see the tail, this is where you stitch the half double crochet first. If at the end without the chain's tail, start with a slip stitch. So whenever you set down your work, you can know how to start again. Hope this helps someone.
@@nothingtoseehere16 how sweet of you to let me know that. I'm always so happy to help people. Wishing you the best of luck with your project. I finished my scarf and managed to make a matching hat. It was tricky to figure out how to make this stitch into a hat but I lucked upon a video of a lady who turned her hat after every row of her pattern and I realized that was exactly what I needed. (So help came back to me!) There's a tiny line up the hat where I turned it but it's barely noticeable. The decreases turned out really easy for me too. Now I'm making mittens with the leftover yarn but not going to use this stitch.
I learned very basic crochet techniques (like how to make a slip knot, a single crochet and a double crochet) from the mother of a childhood friend about 25 years ago, but I didn't pick the hobby back up until about 5 years ago when I decided to try and learn more, so the majority of what I know now comes from RUclips tutorials like this one, so I want to say thank you for being one of the great "RUclips teachers" and posting tutorials like this one. I really love this super easy pattern.
Thank you so much!!! My mom taught me years and years ago and I’ve not crocheted anything in years and she passed away about 12 years ago. Thank you! Ps I love your accent! Makes me miss my Gma! Mom’s family was all from Kiev and Odessa!
Watch your tutorials regularly. It's so easy because of the simple ways you explain. Greatly appreciate it all. Thank you. Hope you continue with such tutorials.
I love this pattern! Although I tried the moss stitch before and didn't like it for the yarn I was using at the time, I'm also a tight stitcher and that's probably why I didn't like it. I'm so thankful that you explained about leaving the slip stitches looser because it's really helped me to make it beautiful this time. I'm using Lionbrand Coboo yarn, 51% cotton and 49% rayon. Approved by Kniited Knockers for breast cancer survivors. First time using this yarn and first time watching you ❤️
Did you finish it in an hour? Just started watching.I need something quick to make a scarf to represent on my independence day.I can make a beanie relatively quickly but I started a scarf some time ago and let's just say...it's tak8ng tool9ng.I feel like if I finish that scarf it will take months.Ain't nobody got time for that.
This is beautiful. You are a wonderful instructor. I have looked at videos for a man's scarf pattern that doesn't look girly. This is it!! Thank you so much!!
Your tutorials are some of the best and clearly represented on RUclips. You make it fun as well as easy to follow for beginners and seasoned crocheters. Thank you so much! I also love this stitch as well. I've noticed that a lot of these stiches make the best textured pieces I've seen so far. :)
Thanks! This is a great tutorial! As summer is coming to an end, I've decided to try this and finished my first (of hopefully many) scarf! For those curious, I used bulky (5) yarn with an 8 mm hook! It resulted in a lovely, chunky scarf! I love it!
Thank you very much for this video. I made it successfully by following your tutorial. It's a great present. Again, thank you very much and I wish you good health. God Bless you!
National thank you so much for your tutorial. I made my first scarf and loved this pattern. I started listening to your live chat that was not live and I wish I could understand your warnings better. I live in rural Northern California and things have been rough.......
Hi Rose! All I can tell you is that, July it's going to be intense (the hole summer). The danger will come from people and the government. Make sure that you are not in harms way. Be safe and calm as much as possible. Take care!
Thank you for this easy , doable scarf tutorial, I just finished making one- minus the tassles . Though on every row, mine started with a slip stitch, and ended with half double crochet, every time. It did not start and end the same per row, working with 24 stitch per row. Still great tutorial, clear and easy to follow.
I think this is because you have to chain 25 at the start instead of 24. as you work into the second stitch from the hook at the start, you only end up with 24 stitches. I know this is an old comment but I hope I helped :)
I don't think I had ever seen this pattern and I LOVE IT! plus it's simple. I'm going to try it because I want to make my sister's a scarf. I'll try to remember to make the last row loose compared to the rest for the tassels. Thank for the tutorial!
You are a fantastic teacher.Thankyou so much showing the video so nicely n slowly.I always follow your videos they are amazing All the best.God bless you.

I’ve been learning more stitches and patterns on YT, and I’ve subscribed to your channel to see more of what you do!! I’m going to use this to teach my friend how to crochet, it’s perfect for them.
Very nice, thank you, I'm currently knitting the one row stitch for a man's scarf but the next one is going to be like the one you are doing, I just love the texture. Good to know.
this is the first time I have been successful at the moss stitch. The slip stitch and half double is easy to find. All the others I have tried have been single crochet chain 1, and i could never find the space to do the sc on the following rows. Thanks.

Hi Helen! Chain even numbers of chains, skip the first chain and in the second chain do a single crochet, and then do single crochet in each chain for the first row. Then, chain 1 turn your work( if you count your stitches after the first row you'll have odd number of stitches, exp: if you chain 12, you'll have 11 stitches after the first row of single crochet in each chain), and in the first stitch do a slip stitch, next stitch HDC, next slip stitch and so on. I think is better to do single crochet in each chain for the first row. When you finish the project, do a single crochet in each stitch across the row, to finish the same way you started. I hope I explain good, and not confuse you. Unless you want me to do a short video to show you. Happy Crochet!
