    Hi Everyone! Thanks for watching the video! I mention in the video, in order to take advantage of the best recording in 4K | 10 Bit | 60fps that you need a card capable of writing at 600Mbps or 75MBps. To be clear that is when recording in XAVC S-I. If you record in XAVC S, you only need a card that can handle 200Mbps or 25MBps. Doesn't change what I purchased as I wanted to be able to record in all formats up to 60fps in 4K 10 bit. Just wanted to clarify in case you know you will be recording in other formats. Hope that helps!

      600 Mbit means 75 MB per second MEGABYTE, but not MEGABIT 😀1 BYTE = 8 BIT. So v60 cards can write with 150 MB means 1200 Mbit, and Lexar CFexpress type A Silver 700 MB for write means 5600 Mbit

    Good video mate! Hey from NS 😀
    A lot of people don't understand S&Q is a setting for uncompressed files in various frame rates to produce high quality video. S&Q can be left turned off while shooting in 4K 120 fps and a V90 card (min needed) will work fine for that. Type A (after u part with part of your liver and perhaps a kidney to help pay for it) is nice to have for the higher quality but not needed. It's the same setup for the older A7SIII... most people don't use S&Q modes. 😉

    Great video. The choice of memory cards isn't discussed very often on RUclips, but is important for cameras like this. I'm looking at purchasing the FX30 but won't be using 10 bit 4.2.2 as none of my editing software will read it...I have to transcode with Handbrake first which adds to the work flow, along with the big file sizes. is SDXC Extreme Pro 128GB 300MB/s UHS-II V90, good for 4k 60fps ?

    • @Elev8Project
      @Elev8Project  Год назад +3

      Hey Christoffer Roen! Thanks for taking the time to leave a question in the comments, I really appreciate it and hope this helps. Yes, v90 is perfect for 4K 60fps. The only challenge where you will need to upgrade to cf express type A will be S&Q 4k 120fps. I haven't tried it, but there was someone that shared in the comments that you can even use the v90 for 4k 120fps without s&q. I have 2x v90 SD cards and have filmed in 4K 24fps, 30fps and 60fps without issue. I will most likely get a cf express type A in the near future. More so just to test it out and try 4k 120fps in S&Q mode as my current V90 SD cards have done the trick for me so far. Hope that helps my friend and Happy Holidays!!

In the menu, Main 1, Choose your file format eg. XAVC HS 4K, then click beside it and choose your Record setting and should have options for 10bit :) eg. 200M 4:2:2 10bit. • @NSFA
      @NSFA 2 года назад +2

      S&Q mode is a specific file compression format with less to no compression producing higher quality video. Kinda Like shooting RAW. U can shoot 4K 120 on a V90 card but not in the S&Q modes. Honestly most beginner to novice video producers/shooters don't use S&Q modes as the file sizes are so BIG and cumbersome for a video editing program and mid grade computers to handle that they just don't bother with it. Most people using S&Q modes work for production companies of some sort and are not concerned about spending the $$$$ on the Type A cards along with the super high end Mac computers like the M1. The main thing to get from this is u CAN shoot in 4K 120fps on this camera with S&Q "turned off" while using a V90 card. 😀
      Happy shooting!

    u know if it works with my camera? 🥹

    • @Elev8Project
      @Elev8Project  2 года назад +3

      Hey Antonio Morales!! First, congrats on the new purchase!!! To quickly answer your question Type B won't fit or work with the FX30. I was doing research about the CF Express cards and this was the main reason that sparked this video. So, I almost put money down on a Type B, because technically Type B cards are twice as fast as Type A cards at a cost of physical size. The CF Express Type A cards are no slouch though and are fast enough for 10-bit 4K with no drop frames. So, guessing Sony choose Type A because they are small enough to share an interchangeable slot with the even smaller SD cards. This also allows to keep the size of the camera as small as possible and gives enough room for all the advanced tech in the camera. Hope that helps my friend!
